Content update on the 8th December, from 1-up:

New Classes: GUARDIANS can now be specialized in one of 7 new hybrid classes available at the GUARDIANS HQ. These new classes will enable GUARDIANS to level up to use A and S rank weapons.

Fighgunner

Guntecher

Wartecher

Fortefight

Fortegunner

Fortetecher

Protranser

Weapons: The following weapon types are now available to GUARDIANs in certain planet shops. GUARDIANs can be more versatile in their fight against the SEED.

Card [Neudaiz]

Grenade [Moatoob]

Axe [Moatoob]

Double Saber [Parum]

Claw [Neudaiz]

Twin Claw [Neudaiz]

Laser Cannon [Parum]

Crossbow [Moatoob]

Weapon Ranks update: B and A ranked (5-8 star) weapons, gears and boards will now be available at all shops.

SUV Weapons: Two new SUV units for CASTs will now be available: Rafal Buster, and Sturm Buster.

Level Cap: The current level cap has been increased to level 60, and Photon abilities and TECHNICs can now be raised to level 30 depending on your character class.

Partner Machinery: Partner Machinery 'Device Zero' will be available, enabling you to return your Partner Machinery to its original state and start from the beginning if you don't like how it's developed.

Missions: Over 10 S Rank quests will be opened up on all planets, including a brand new dragon.

No mention of Christmas lobbies but it does mention that Sega are going to be updating the game weekly (we'll see about that eh?).

Guess we should all start thinking about what advanced classes we'll be. Only thing I know is that I ain't gonna be a Fortetecher as thats all everybody seems to want to be :lol:

Yes, we have to meet up to swap cards - it's a pain in the backside finding people unless we specify a time & place.

We are meeting new people tonight:

9pm GMT, at the fountain (1st floor, outside our rooms) on Clyez City.

This is the default place you log in at. We are meeting on Universe 15 - to choose your Universe use the little floaty red cubes near the elevators.

You do have to meet up to exchange. Try to give us plenty of warning about your eta and location and I'll pop on for a bit if you like, as I'm about the house for a while today.

The update schedule more-or-less exactly mirrors to JP one, so take a look at what they get and stick 4 weeks on the end to see what we'll be getting and when. I'll be going Fortecher (when I get FO to 10, which will be ages yet), as I've had my heart set on that for some time. Wartcher looks pretty good too for Forces, but it's too similar to my old FOmar for my liking and I fancy a bit of card-throwing action.

And we did do Grove together, Terria - but someone with a far higher level than us jumped in just before the end, we went into one room set and he another, and he wiped out the end guys just before we backtracked to him. I do so love it when that happens.

I hear you. My lastest PSO character was MW_Nico who I pretty much maxed out tech-wise so I don't feel like tredding the same path again. Juliet is going to much more like an old HUnewearl I think.

like I have anything better to do on a friday night. (I'll be there for sure).

The class system is a bit confusing for me. So the different races are better suited to certain types, but you can still choose whatever you want... the stat difference didnt seem so profound to me. maybe it is once you level up your class cards a lot. Also as a beast I don't want to be stuck as a hunter forever, all the long range fighters murdering everything before i can hit them. Having photon arts like rising strike, rising crush and that double blade one... where you launch yourself into them? those kind of arts make hunters a lot more powerful I think, in this game.

Hello!

I will be unwrapping my copy of PSU and starting playing tonight when I return home from Newcastle. I haven't got a clue what to do, as a total PSO virgin, so be nice to me if you see me.

I'm intending to be a female beast, providing I can make a cute one. Still don't know what to call myself. I'm assuming there is a rude words filter which will prevent be using some of the names I've used for games in the past. :)

I've seen some great female beasts. And they have the cutiest noses!

Yes there's a swear filter, but it does allow some very rude words though. It is broke in a good way.

Well, looking at the character type tables on psupedia, I think I will be going for the FighGunner with Muf.

Has anybody tried using traps yet?

I just noticed a new 'SEGA' foder in My Documents. It seems that each time you do a screenshot, it saves it there. Which is jolly handy as I've been limiting myself to one print screen per session until now! There is also a log of mails there too.

I thought I'd upload a couple:

Pfft. You're such a noob. Plus, that my bed your sitting on, not yours.

Edit: A noob question of my own because it's really bothering me about how the best way to go about this is. You've got a party of 4 say, and you've just done the first quest and got to a halfway lobby. You start going through the next quest and a friend of yours comes online. Whats the best way of getting them into the party?

1) Tell them were you are and let them come along? (can they even get to the Quest though)?

2) The Leader goes back to the entrance and back to the 1/2 lobby and...? I'm sure this is what I tried and still wouldn't let me invite them to the game.

3) Wait until you've finished the quest :(

I checked my folder out, but there were no screenshots in there, even though I've taken one or two. Hmm.

Perhaps check the options. I have both 'saving' boxes ticked and I seem to remember creating environmental data at some point! I was thinking of setting up some sort of communal flickr account for us to upload pics to, sound like a good idea?

Cottem, if you look at the first post of the thread, you will see that the lovely robot chappy was Pungee.

Thanks to everyone I saw tonight. It's all a bit confusing for me. I really haven't played anything like it before, and I was exhausted when I started tonight after being away all week, which didn't help. Everyone was really nice about reviving me and showing me the way around, though, and I really appreciate it. I'll be playing tomorrow, and I'll become less useless in time. Level 8 can't be bad for a first session though, right?

Just uploaded a few pictures to the Flickr group. Alas I was on the PS2 during the massive group photos.

Acid & Pungee: convert your pictures to PNG before uploading. jpg's are yuk and I want some nice biig pictures from that meet-up :blink:

I'm knackered but it was brilliant, again. Phantasy Star feels alive.
