I can't speak for the PC/PS2 versions but if you're getting the 360 version you won't have any bother with server crashes etc. There's hardly anybody playing it anymore thanks to GoW and that so it's rare for more than the first two servers to fill up now. They released an update yesterday fixing some of the problems people were having with voice comms and login failures.

I've laid my Beast Hunter to rest and have created a Newman Force in preparation of the PAL release. I moved all the money I'd amassed over to him so he's looking well garmsed out in his designer gear.

My friend at Gamestation kindly put a copy of the PC version aside for me today (£30) but said I wasn't allowed it until tomorrow. I hope everything will be all groovy ready for the online experience tomorrow. Assuming Sega do their bit and we can all buy a GL, who else is up for meeting sometime around lunchtime? Feel free to add me to msn, the addy is in my profile.

Went to my local Gamestation this morning and they didnt have any signs of it coming out <_< Gits. I will have to nip in first thing tomorrow morning before work, Carly needs this game! Oh and acidbearboy I MIGHT grab the ps2 copy if I have any pennies left, Im going to an anime con next weekend so I cant promise anything!

I've found the single player to be quite fun, but more importantly very educational on the finer points of the game. I don't mind at all seeing each area once to see what the future of the game holds. I'm on chapter 5 now + there have already been some real nice areas to explore. Can't wait to see what the later levels hold. The bosses have been very impressive also. I'm hoping the GL will be available from midnight but I'm sure that's wishful thinking.

Just logged off after meeting donpeartree and doing a couple of quick runs with him. It feels weird being such a low level again.

Hopefully be seeing Vezna and herc about tomorrow then. :(

I am going to get the licence now but I won't be able to play for about 12 hours. :blink:

I did consider phoning into work feigning illness as I have waited so long to play this game online. :(

Ryanski actually asked me about a week ago what character I would be picking. I didn't know then and here we are on the day of release and I still haven't a clue. :blink:

I just looked for a character guide online and was met with various forum posts that are nothing but baffling stats. My character should be logically called Vezna but surely we would be better off being on a lower server number? Someone on NTSC-UK posted that he was running about on a server all on his own!

I just bought a HL over here in the UK and logged in for the first time.

I now have 4 characters I never even created, one of which is level 20.

I also have a room full of decorations.

Its appears I am playing someone elses account.

I contacted Sega, no response.

I contacted Microsoft Corporation didnt want to know.

What now?

Hehehe Im the same! I'm getting ready for work and Im leaving early to grab a copy, decided to take early leave as long as I provided a relevant excuse.

I have to fill in a form that explains why I want to leave before closing, and it reads:

'Buying PSU you numpties.'

Aaah the joys of being a member of management, I can expect a call from my regional manager on Saturday but by then I wont care!

I suggest staying away from server 15. That server is the home of the psoworld mob and they are fecking annoying. Not quite as annoying as the gamefaqs kids who hang around on the first server though.

Well, I've reached the point of terminal fatigue after refreshing the Playsega site repeatedly all morning through 3 hours of 'maintenance'; I'm going in now, so see you in the unlikely event the billing system comes online over lunchtime.

In the meantime, if you haven't already done so, you should just download the fairly large patch (you don't need to have an account to do that, bizarrely enough).
