Surprised hearing this, it is heavy as fuck! Fully awesome so far, it is like an edited version of CODY and fairly easily surpassses HPFHP and Rock Action. I need to hear this more, but potential album of the year for 2006 already? Can't wait to see them in january now.

At the minute I can only specifically say this: Glasgow Mega Snake = Mega. It's already on my next Mix CD.

The album itself is probably the most accessible Mogwai record, for me anyway. I found it difficult to immerse myself in anything until I almost drowned in Rock Action a few summers back, and everything spread after that.

It's like Young Team that they tried to fit through a cheese grater but ended up with a tougher, grittier lump of prog awesomeness. I don't know if it'll settle with the rest of their stuff or sink a bit lower. Yet. Intresting to see if it gets critically boosted or nudged down after HSFHP was generally widely well received.

Certainly is - it's hard not to do an air guitar thrash to it.

As much as I'm enjoying it so far, I wish Alan McGee hadn't said that stuff about it possibly being "better than Loveless". Although I don't generally trust much that he has to say, I let myself believe it might be true a little bit. So rather than sitting here just enjoying another great Mogwai album, in the back of my mind I'm a wee bit disappointed. Which is stupid, really.

As for the other bands intrviewed, i've got one done for issue 4, so maybe Davros for the website?

the single "friend of the night" came out a few days ago. its pretty nice. worth £2. 2 bsides. Fresh crown and 1% of monster.

Apparently NME descibed Mogwai as being "as relevant as Snow Patrol" in their review. Unfortunately Mogwai dignified it with a response on their website, I would have thought better of them really though I'm sure I'd be pissed off if someone wrote such shite about me.
