How does the tracker work? I could maybe look into fixing it and updating once every fortnight.

That would be good, I only started chivvie hunting again after getting the Xbox One, had let my sub run out and never went back till this gen.

Honest question; why doesn't anyone care what their gamerscore is? I found myself up in second behind Yoshimax for the last 30 days, but so what? What's the deal? I've never really got it.

I was actually ahead of him for a few weeks, but have since fallen to third place on my friends list.

As for why anyone wants to collect them? Guess it is something to get for all your hard work, I was adamant about collecting some of the more difficult ones in Puyo Puyo Tetris just because of the fact that so few people had them and was sure I could achieve it :)

Yeah, I get playing a game to breaking point to get the more difficult ones. I've got a plan for doing it myself with the Chief Collection. But, I'm not doing it to compare with anyone else, I'll be doing it for my own satisfaction.

Saying that has made me realise it's just pretty much like the high score tables in the arcades from years back. Everyone wants to see their name at the top of the leaderboard, right?

Yeah, plus, as it is the monthly scores, not overall, you still have a decent chance to gain ground on people who are miles ahead with total achievements earned, currently I am sat at fourth, with 1,235 GS for the past 30 days, but my total is only 39785, roughly 5k more than when I last logged in on a 360 to Live, Mr Do 71, who is just above me in third is on a whopping 77,333 GS, so there is no way I am catching up to that in a hurry and the less said about YoshiMax and his 90k more than me GS the better :P But it still makes me feel alright knowing that out of the friends I have on XBL, I've earnt the fourth highest amount of chivvies for the month :)

I'm a bit addicted to unlocking them, TBH.

I wrote it in C# about eight years ago.

It was cobbled together during a few of my lunch breaks, and as such, is a total mess, held together with glue and string.

Over the years, the various changes back and forth between using xbox.com and TrueAchievements.com as the data source have compounded that somewhat.

You can have the source code if you want, just PM me an email address and I'll send it on.

I assume you mean "why DOES anyone care" ...

I don't really care about my overall gamerscore, but I like aiming for completion in every game I've played, or getting the really tough "kudos" achievements. Every significant videogame achievement I ever made before 2005 is a myth. And even at the time, my one-lifing Bionic Commando, or my no-hit run of Time Crisis 2 failed to impress my wife, my cats or my friends who think that videogaming is for kids. I like that there is now a tangible record of what I've done. It might all get wiped someday, but it's something.

Hi

I'm a .NET developer, with hopefully some free time coming up May onwards (once I finish my lecture capture project). Would be more than happy to take a look at the source code to see what kind of challenge awaits taking this over. It would be such a shame to see this end, I love the weekly updates.

I'm also a completionist nut, rather than total score. I'm aiming for overall 80% achievement completion. Tricky when I have so many games with just one or two achievements on my list which I don't really want to go back to while there are so many other games waiting to be started. Why, oh why, did I get out of the car in GTA IV? I don't even like GTA games :o

I've sent the code to everyone that asked for it. Good luck!

I forgot to mention that I actually lost the source code for it a few years ago and had to decompile it from the EXE, so it has no comments and is not very readable!

Like I said, good luck!

Just came looking to see how many achievements I'd unlocked over the past week (thanks to F&F, a lot by my standards) only to find this dead :( Thanks for all your hard work over the years Peeveen, so sad to see it go.

This is me too - I've got slightly lower goals (70% completion with a third of all games 100%'d, discounting DLC I haven't bought) but it becomes a lot harder to explain to people I don't care about the score, I care about my ratio :/ There is something about the pursuit of perfection that makes things all that more enjoyable.
