I really enjoyed the recent show with just Mat and James presenting. They sounded far more relaxed and were actually able to finish their sentences without David Turner jumping down their throats every five seconds. Maybe they should stage a coup, sack the main one and draft in one of the Cane & Rinse guys as a replacement. That would be fucking funny.

This would be brilliant!

And I love John on the podcast!

You're all getting a bit harsh in here lads. They just need to tone down some of the banter that comes across as personal attacks, some serious overreactions to a misjudged 'bit'. It's usually a small part of the podcast and these guys do listen to feedback, I'm sure it will be reduced even more in the future. It's still a fucking awesome podcast.

I'd like cain and rinse to have an occasional podcast using the standard video game  format.

Patreon subscribers get a monthly 'regular' kind of show which I always enjoy. $1 monthly subscription (or more, there are no tiers yet).

I really enjoyed Jon's time on this and think it made for a fun, slightly spiky dynamic. It was often really funny. Looking forward to Sean coming back, though, too. I think he brings a calmer authority and there's less 'acting up' all round. He brings out the best in everyone on the show.

I think this week was a bit of a misstep but ultimately, these guys are mates, and they've front loaded the drama and running jokes and 'soapy' elements since the start and it's usually pretty entertaining and well judged. I'm a big fan of the show and along with C&R, it's the one I look forward to appearing in my feed.

The awful skit at the start stops abruptly and from 25 minutes onwards it's a very good episode. They've got a bit too 'good' at doing these political drama bits now and it means they just come across as nasty.

Still, we're about to get in to E3 season and TCGS does this better than anyone. Can't wait to hear how they fuck with Matt and his need to be involved all the time.

I didn’t know that, wonder why they don’t push it more on the main podcast. I loved the mega long end of the year round up they did with all the team.

I'm not sure, really. I think they're gradually becoming a bit more forthcoming about this kind of thing, and so they should. They put out a superb show week in week out. Next month they're starting the first of several console specials, on the Mega Drive. Again, I'm always interested in seeing them take a slightly different approach. Looking forward to it.

Interesting, I'll skip forward to the 25 minute mark and see. From the sounds of things I should also give the past couple of episodes a bash too.

I really feel for Mat re: E3. I could never do what he (and others) have done.

I'm 15 minutes into the new TCGS, surely no one is taking this start seriously are they? its clearly a piss take.

I agree its a bit played out and the whole "main one" with Elmo doing the power trip thing is getting a bit shit now but its still a cracking podcast.

Of course it is, as pretty much everyone here have said. Like I said though, staged or not it's just not very nice to listen to. Everything afterwards was good.

Humourless ponce lol. Might put that on a t shirt.

No offence Jon. I loved Chet and Jon’s, please don’t beat me up.

Good on David Turner for apologising on this weeks show, can’t have been easy for him to do that with Farley listening.

I imagine that @jcafarley has that apology on constant loop while he is sat in his favourite chair, smoking jacket on with a malt in one hand and pipe the other!

A week behind but it's a real shame Jon has left. I always got the sense that he was always waiting for the opportunity to pipe up with some informed gaming opinions and interesting insights, but he'd only get about one or two opportunities to do so in the course of a whole show and therefore his presence was a bit of a waste. Which I guess what someone further up this page meant when they said "he didn't really fit into TCGS". I do think they'll miss that angle on the show though -  as much as I enjoy listening to it (and I do, it's the only gaming podcast I listen to) I do look forward to some proper gamey discussions (in amongst the bants), and Jon was bloody excellent at that. Hopefully he'll consider popping up as a guest now and then if someone is missing.

Glad to hear Sean is back as he also brings something similar to the show.
