Episode 8 is out.

(or iTunes or whatever).

If you'd like to bung us a review or a rating or something on iTunes that would be much appreciated. Retweeting the @ugvmpodcast tweets mentioning it also appreciated if you use Twitter and so on.

For anyone interested we did a live show at Rezzed! Unfortunately there was a technical bug that fucked the audio a bit.

still I think the video is watchable after a bit of tinkering. So if you can put up with the micro cuts, here’s the vid

I stuck this on yesterday whilst I lay in the sunshine topping up my  tan ( erm, burn actually :P )
Would rather have it how it is than not at all, so thanks for getting it sorted and put out there :)

This Nintendo life is my favourite Nintendo podcast (no link to Nintendo life).

I am surprised Nintendo life don't do a podcast as they are a professional website.

Are Eurogamer still bothering with their podcast?

They resurrected it about a year ago for maybe three episodes then nothing.

Eurogamer are a frustrating website, sometimes their content can be really good, sometimes they  are inconsistent with content (like the podcasts) and sometimes they disappear up their own... (Destiny, sea of thieves)

If they were consistent with the podcasts they could have the UK's biggest gaming podcast

I expect another resurrection of the podcast in about a year.

What IS the biggest UK gaming podcast anyway?

Not sure, any ideas? It is something quantifiable so someone must be, anyone here want to claim it?:)

I only listen to Nintendo podcasts so not best placed to guess.

There doesn't seem to be any big UK gaming podcasts any more. Last one I can think of was Videogamer before the mass exodus and even before that there wasn't really a lot of choice among the big sites. Over here it's always seemed like the independent shows were much better (Chet & John, Joypod, Cane & Rinse, Midnight Resistance, Daft Souls, TCGS etc.) than the stuff Eurogamer, IGN UK and Gamespot UK were putting out.

I've never been able to tolerate more than a few minutes of the 'professional' podcasts, they are so transparently lacking in passion or personality or hardcore nerdery that C&R, TCGS, MidRes, JoyPod et al provide(d). I would love to be into Giant Bomb or IGN podcast or Idle Thumbs or whatever but they're boring as fuck. Quite possibly, it's a British vs American thing, too.

Daft racist.

I watched the TCGS live show today, and loved it. I didn’t think the sound quality was too bad at all, and I was expecting a barely listenable mess from the description. Sure there are little skips throughout, but they really are little and didn’t affect my enjoyment at all.

Congrats on episode 100! :)

The Vice gaming podcast was a UK one, then it morphed into the Waypoint UK podcast. Which was good.

Then they sacked Mike Diver and that was the end of that.

Yeah the interminable junk food chat has become a recurring thing. It seems to be a weird obsession with some Americans. I feel like a lot of podcasts I listen to come around to spending ages talking about Taco Bell and pizza eventually. If you spend any time on any forums or similar with a lot of Americans you will eventually see it too. Especially fucking pizza, talking about pizza seems to me like their biggest national pastime.

I've stopped both podcasts recently,  not enough hours in the day for inane pish like that.

This is why I stopped listening to Bombcast years ago. They do it sometimes on 8-4 Play as well but luckily they have timestamps so you can skip past that nonsense.

The Beastcast used to be great but lately...

This week a fucking hour talking about Pizza. Have a separate podcast to talk about pish if you must.

Normally I’d agree but this week’s pizza talk was about 10 minutes (I know because I listened to it twice) and amazingly funny. It wasn’t so much just talking about fast food either - more how Vinnie had eaten enough for a small family on his own.

I fell asleep listening, seemed like an hour and I fail to see anything funny about it. From start to game talk is 25 minutes of 'wacky fun goofy talk'.
