Hope this is ok to post here, some friends and I have been recording podcast eps for a bit (4 eps) and tried something a bit different (for us):

Is it on overcast or iTunes?

No it isn't at the moment, think it's worth posting an audio version to them? Not sure how easy it is to set up an iTunes thing for Podcasts or Overcast.

That's pretty brutal, Diver carried that site for ages before it became waypoint. Also the UK podcast is better than the main one.

I really don't think waypoint will be around long term sadly.

It isn't at all the site I expected it to be, and that's despite the fact that via various podcasts I had followed all of the main people on it for years before it started. It just seems to be full of lifeless introspectives on ultra-niche topics, rather than the mix of good analytical writing and interesting video features I had expected.

Vice sports was good btw.

My little podcast (Gamehulk) ran aground after a handful of episodes because my co-host is a busy man, he's trying to juggle a degree and a full time job and plan a wedding, he barely has time to play games nevermind record a podcast about them. The other co-host doesn't want to do a two man show (which I can appreciate) so we're a bit dead in the water. I'm keen on continuing though, so if anyone out there is interested in doing a podcast, drop me a line. You just need a half decent microphone and time to record, we usually record on Saturday morning but this could be changed. It's in the vein of Midnight Resistance or TCGS (e.g. not too dry) and we're pretty open to any subject matter, it would be particularly good if you frequently pick up different games so we've got something new to talk about. The actual games don't have to be new though, we talk about whatever tickles our fancy, new or old.

Agreed about the podcast, I find the US podcast almost unlistenable these days and it's not helped by two of them Skyping in. Reading about what happened to Vice Sports it seems like Vice will be focusing more on video content in the future which isn't good for Waypoint because apart from their Guide to Games stuff all they really do is Player Unknown videos. Patrick and Austin joined specifically to be writers so I can see a Glixel situation in the future where the existing crew are canned and more video centric people are brought in.

The thing is Austin, Patrick and Danielle all have plenty of experience doing video stuff, so the lack of it has surprised me from the start. Maybe they just never got the budget for it

The main podcast is horrible, which is impressive as I have loved 3/4 of them on their other/previous podcasts.

Paul Davies & Dean Swain play one of the hottest consoles of the early 1980’s that played host to a ton of quality arcade conversions, namely the CBS Colecovision – A console that for it’s time had superb graphics & sound but fell victim of the American games crash of 1983. Plus, there’s a round up of all of the latest retro gaming news and more answers revealed in the latest section of Ask RA.

Not sure if anyone's been watching @jcafarley's Heavy Rain streams, but we posted the finale this morning (link to full playlist) but here's one particular moment from the finale that had to be its own video.

And if anyone fancies it, here's the video on Reddit if you fancy dropping an upvote on it. The world needs to see James' lockpicking skills.

This made me laugh. I finished Heavy Rain recently on PS4 and had exactly the same problems as he did with the lockpicking. It's ridiculously fiddly to do for some reason. Nearly threw my controller through the window on several occasions.

I've been looking for a Giant Borecast replacement for a while now (I honestly can't remember the last time I made it through a full episode) and have come across DLC with Jeff Canatta and some other guy. It's got some very cheesy intros and what not but other than that it's a pretty great podcast and tends to be around one and a half to two hours. Highly recommended.

As an aside: I don't understand how someone who is best described as "nothing to add" (Ben Pack) manages to be an active detriment to the podcast, but I really can't listen to it any more.

The Beastcast has been the better one for years now.

Depending on how much driving I have to do in a week I need 2-3 podcasts. Beastcast and TCGS plus or minus another one. Bombcast is just rubbish and usually adds nothing interesting even if you manage to slog through the whole thing.

DLC has a guest every week which helps keep things fresh.

Over the last two weeks we've been in GOTY mode over at The Computer Game Show.

Last week was the draft:

And yesterday we released our GOTY episode:

Have a listen if you haven't already. The show's also on Apple Podcasts, etc.

Any recommendations that match the length and style of the now deceased Glixl and WayPoint podcasts?

So far I also listen to TCGS & Cane and Rinse, but I'd like something that has news & discussion and comes in at around 60-90 min.
