Finally un-subscribed from Weekend Confirmed. Garnett is an embarrassment these days, with his ludicrous opinions and shoe-horned references to his awful girlfriend at every opportunity. Shame because 1Up Yours in it's heyday with John Davison, Luke Smith and Shane Bettenhausen was unbeatable entertainment.

Plus that awful lisping guest they seem to insist on having on all the time makes it doubly unlistenable!

It's a shame Weekend Confirmed fans never warmed to Ariel, she was actually a really capable and entertaining host on her own show, pixel junk radio.

I think it might have something to do with the fact she was always on with Andrea Renee, who I always find a little unsophisticated in terms of her opinions, dragging her into really tired and pointless debate.

Still, the show really has been a right drag for a long time now, everyone on there is just so bland! Bring back Leahy!

This Year Collection have finally made it onto iTunes, and they kick off with a GFW best moments of 2008 two parter. I think the last year of the Brodeo was when it was at its absolute best, more Robert Ashley, Anthony joins the crew and Jeff spends half the time implying that he fucking hates his bosses. It's a ten hour epic, I imagine it would be perfect for my forthcoming 700 mile round trip to Edinburgh if I didnt have a wife and two small kids in the car with me. :lol:

I miss getting the new CGW/GFW podcast every week. Simply pure class. Enjoyed hearing Jeff Green on one of the Giant Bomb E3 specials.

Slowly working my way through the This Year podcast, and it is the third time I have heard most of that stuff now (listened to it all as it was originally broadcast, then again when I went through the backlog of CGW podcasts I had missed turned into listening to the entire run) and it still makes me laugh. Nice to hear RLLMUK get a name check during the Braid discussion too.

Thanks Snowbind. Been questioning that this year what with us only turning in podcasts every now and then. We try and make it a decent show and sometimes i think we hit that, sometimes i don't think we do. But it's still great fun to produce and i love talking to michael and sean.

The one thing that really keeps us going is hearing from listeners. We've had people who have stuck with us for years and a few that have picked is up late, yet it still blows me away that people listen.

So again, thanks. We really couldn't carry on without you lot and Rllmuk have been the most supportive bunch of the lot.

On your latest one you mentioned you get a hum when you record with the laptop plugged in (then have to go through the tricky task of cleaning the audio).

Sounds like ground loop hum, you should either try a ground lift plug or DI box with ground lift. e.g. http://www.raincomputers.co.uk/dealing-with-laptop-noise-a/273.htm

If you have a music shop locally pop in and they should have what you need if you explain the problem.

I've recently redownloaded the Entirety of "The Sound Test" Video Game music podcast that Ray Barnholt did for 1UP. It was a great way to get a sample of all the different types of music Video Games covers & it directed me to artists & albums I probably would never heard of otherwise.

It's a real shame this died when he left, & i'm wondering whether there's anything like this out there now?

I'm surprised you can tell seeing as Canata never shuts his fucking mouth. Mr self promotion may as well insist the show is named after him from now on. I get sick of fast forwarding and always hearing the same voice talking.

She left because she went to work for Sony and they don't allow their staff on podcasts, supposedly.

I need a replacement for Weekend Confirmed, it's still 'alright' but I'm not really feeling it. Garnett is always transparently playing devil's advocate (or being an idiot) and everyone else is too inarticulate to back up their opinions.

Even John Davison seems unable to counter Garnett's idiocy these days. Garnett Lee has absolutely zero left to contribute to video game opinion or discussion, even more so when accompanied by his dog faced missus, or shamelessly flirting with the Andrea woman who now seems to be on only because Garnett fancies her.
