At the moment I'm only listening to a few gaming podcasts but I want to try out some new ones.

This is what I am listening to:

- Joypod

- Kane and Rinse

- Jon and Chet's Reassuringly Finite Gaming Playlist

- Dorktunes

Which is a good mix of the serious and light-hearted.

These are ones I can check out thanks to the thread:

- Midlife Gamer

- Newbreview

- Midnight Resistance

- Gamewank (amazing name)

- Idle Thumbs

Any other recommendations?

I'm a bit late to the party, and I'm sure I've listened to it a long time ago, but Joypod is wonderful. I think in years past I was kind of conditioned to think a podcast was supposed to sound like 1 Up Yours (Americans, round table, shouting, ill-informed, knob jokes) but my recent foray into Midlife Gamers podcast and now Joypod has shown me that a good British podcast can't be beaten. Years ago I tried a few British podcasts and they were awful. I think the Gamespot UK one broke me. Absolute arse tripe. So I sort of wandered into the American wilderness, waiting for a beacon of hope to be lit to guide me home.

It's perhaps a bit over the top but it (Joypod) was a genuine joy from start to finish, and whoever the three people on it were (one is elmo right?) well they deserve a knighthood quite frankly. Funny, snappy, well-edited, rude and vaguely informative. I'll be downloading a whole load for when I'm out running. Nice one guys.

This Year Collection have finally made it onto iTunes, and they kick off with a GFW best moments of 2008 two parter. I think the last year of the Brodeo was when it was at its absolute best, more Robert Ashley, Anthony joins the crew and Jeff spends half the time implying that he fucking hates his bosses. It's a ten hour epic, I imagine it would be perfect for my forthcoming 700 mile round trip to Edinburgh if I didnt have a wife and two small kids in the car with me. :lol:

Thank god for This Year. The latest best of is wonderful, as you would expect.

When gaming podcasting is this good, it's by far my most favourite form of Entertainment. Well maybe behind actually gaming.

I can't seem to listen to a US gaming podcast now without hearing the word 'super'. I've nothing against the podcast myself, but everything on the last Giant Bomb came with that word in front: super interesting or super disappointing or something in between. Almost as distracting as hearing people say 'here's the thing' every time they want to make a point.

Ha! Yeah sorry for the lack of podcasting. Hoping to get back into the swing of it in the new year once the wedding is out of the way.
