So Gamerdork has risen from the dead again, onto version 4 now, going to be coming out fortnightly.

Xib is back on the show now so that is something, Leah Heydo (sp?) is still there from the last resurrection of GD. Personally I don’t think she has improved any, just don’t find her engaging, was good to hear Xib again though, always enjoyed listening to him.

3rd person is another Scottish guy, Kev Drysdale (SP?). Not 100% but I think it’s the guy Xib did a couple of previous GD’s with before spinning out to the board gaming podcast, not sure if that one is still going though.

Nice to have GD back I guess but it’s a shadow of its former self, will give the new one time though, it may pick up.

I liked the new Gamerdork, but like Memories, I don't think Leah fits well. I don't find her engaging.

I think Ratso and Xib had a very special chemistry that's a rarity in the podcast world, which made them extremely listenable and likeable. It's going to be hard for Xib to replace him I think.

She's been on a few shows now, I don't have anything against her, it was always going to be an uphill struggle measuring up to Leon! I like Uzi, but he's more about the boardgame than the vidyagemes.

:hmm:

I think he means Kevin, mate. :)

Thanks for the feedback, guys. This sounds like a total cop-out, but at almost 40, I just wanna make a podcast about mates getting around Skype and talking about everything that they like in gaming. For me, it's always been more about the chemistry between me and whoever I'm podcasting with. You have to agree the I nailed it with Uzi followed by Leon, so invest a wee bit of trust in me on the new line-up.

That said, this podcast's aimed more at an older audience that just enjoys the chat. My job demands so much of me these days that the podcast will be a vehicle for me to just shoot the shit. I can fully appreciate that you guys might not enjoy it but we've already had a ton of great feedback from other social networks. We've always said at GamerDork that real life comes first before anything. These days, after I fulfill my real-life obligations, all I want to do is relax with friends. Hopefully, this'll shine through in GD v4.0.

Thanks for giving us a go!

I'm looking for a bit of feedback on our last show. Did anyone think the Call-in element didn't work? Would you like to hear it again. We could possible do this every show if need be but wanted to see what you lot thought.

The call in stuff was great. Most other podcasts like retronauts call in bits kinda fail due to bad sound quality, stupid questions and annoying dull callers but everyone you had on had something to add. I think keepin it seep rate allows you guys to chat like normal and then break off rather than it controlling the show.

I loved the call in element of the show Elmo. I've always been a fan of Joypod, but having the call in gave it something extra and made it feel more unique in comparison to other podcasts. I wasn't listening when you were on Play Radio but this definitely had a radio show vibe which worked really well.

I was very tempted to Skype in, say "You're a wanker" then hang up, but lost my nerve.

After the praise I've heard about Chet & Jon's Finate Playlist cast I was on there site looking to download a couple of episodes to check it out.

Other than via itunes though I can't find anyway to just download an MP3 of the show, am I totally missing something on the site?

There are a heap of icons on each podcast page that I have no idea what half of them mean, is one of them a download link?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks chaps. Most people seem to say the same thing about it being a semi-regular thing we do so I think we'll do that. If we made the whole thing a phone in show it would limit us having guests on and that.

Thanks for your feedback chaos. It's been weird lately as we hardly get any feedback anymore and it makes me wonder if anyone is listening at all anymore. It's weird.

Good to know people still are.

I've only just started listening to joypod as of the recent me3 episode. Now normally, I hate gaming podcasts but I'm currently working my way through the archive of spong episodes at a rate of one or two a day and frequently getting confused and disturbed looks from co-workers as I chuckle away to myself.

Mate, cant tell you how much it mean to me to read something like that. To pick up a listener this late into the shows life is really great to hear and to hear that they are going back through our old shows really is flattering. So thanks man.

It really is great to hear that people like your show. Sometimes the show feels like work. Sometimes it's like a hobby and sometimes it feels like someone cares about what your oing and it makes it all worth while.

Just finished listening to the latest and really enjoyed it. I think the call in stuff worked great, pretty seamless and it didn't feel like it was the central be all part of the show if you know what I mean, which is good - it was Joypod as we know it, laid back games/tits talk, but people could call and join in if they wanted.

elmo, you mentioned about not getting to much feedback of late; for me at least Joypod is a given listen, whenever a new ep pops up on iTunes I will often listen to it first over anything else, even if I’m in the middle of another podcast. It has evolved and changed over the years as you guys have tried out new stuff (live shows etc.) swapped things about and I think its aces.

Anyway, Skype show was ace, do some more please - perhaps as people have already mentioned have one every few shows, would be good to have some Skype in shows for pre / post E3 talk (predications then reactions)

Finally got round to listening to the call-in show and yeah, to echo the voices here, thought it was great. Really interesting conversation and on a technical level was seamlessly integrated into the show. Yours and Mikes radio experience certainly showed through, callers were well handled and given time to participate rather than just ask a question. I generally wouldn't be able to listen live but was good to hear some new voices and opinions on the show. I liked the guy who liked the Trials music :)

I barely listen to anything any more. I have no time generally, I have no real commute and if I have any spare time at home, I'm playing games. I ALWAYS make time for Joypod though and along with maybe Kermode and Mayo is the only podcast I would genuinely miss if it ended.
