Bibly.

Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

It was fine, Caned and Unable, apart from that. I enjoyed the Resident Evil 4 reminiscence anyway, it was probably the game that kept my interest in gaming when everything else seemed a bit crap.

I'm not convinced that cane and rinse is really fulfilling it promise at the moment. Ratso has really sold the concept to me but even by issue 2 the cracks have begun to show - disappointed.

I'm sorry to hear that. Well you can either stick with us a while longer (very few podcasts get into their stride after two shows) or you can unsubscribe.

Overall the feedback so far has been extremely positive, and we're committed to the concept, so I'm confident that better shows are yet to come.

I thought the latest Cane And Rinse was pretty great. Everyone on it is clearly still settling into their stride, but there was some really interesting discussion (and quite timely for me as I recently finished playing through the HD re-release of Resi 4). I also had no trouble understanding Darren.

On the flip side, Fitch is really starting to grate on the Geekbox. He just won't shut up, despite being horribly ignorant and having nothing interesting to say (in the latest show I'm sure he spends a good chunk of the podcast just going "UHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMM" and talking over people). I used to find him fairly entertaining but he's clearly growing into some kind of horrible monster who believes the show is all about him.

Sigh.

Really enjoying Cane and Rinse. I've always wanted a podcast that talked about old games passionately and this is probably the first. Retronauts never quite felt right, either they covered obscure games or their knowledge was more often than not lacking. Lately with listener call ins they spend less time talking about the games and more time discussing rubbish. But Can and Rinse certainly fills a gap and really feels like Retro Gamer in podcast form. Well done guys!

Could you be a bit more specific? That's a pretty general statement.

I think that Cane and Rinse has the potential to easily become one of the most important amateur UK podcasts out there. The guys have knowledge and passion by the bucket load and I believe that the angle they're taking will make them stand out by a country mile within the scene. Well done so far, guys. Really looking forward to hearing more.

Just listened to Issue Two of Cane and Rinse, brilliant stuff.

Found the development history of RE4 really interesting and now I've got a hankering to play it again, off to town to pick up the Wii version in the morning  .

Looking forward to Issue 3 :)

Simply that I've been expecting more. There's been lots of discussion about how C&R is going to so much more than other podcasts but in reality while the focus is tighter its just the same really. I suppose I'm expecting the podcast equivalent of one of the replay articles from Retrogamer / GamesTM and the like and that hasn't been delivered as yet. I'll keep on listening though and see how it develops.

Possibly I set us up for a fall in the eyes of some by being rather bullish from the outset (http://caneandrinse.com/2011/09/28/welcome-to-cane-and-rinse-prepare-for-unforeseen-consequences/). We pledge(d) to make more effort (particularly pre and post-production) than a lot of shows do, and I can tell you from experience we most certainly are doing that (that's not a dig at GamerDork by the way - I know and have worked with a LOT of podcasters).

As I say, we are but two episodes in and as a collective we're just getting used to one another. There's a team of 8 or so and we haven't all even recorded together yet. Conversation will flow better once we've all gotten to know each others' patterns. I'm also looking forward to doing an issue where we don't all agree quite so wholeheartedly. It looks like the imminent ICO/SotC show may be the one where we start actually voicing contradictory opinions.

However GMass, I think you have your expectations slightly off if you're expecting an audio 'article' a la Retro Gamer or gamesTM. While there will be facts and history in there it's a group podcast, and as such it has to take the form of a discussion by amateur enthusiasts. Think of it more like a book club for games.

At the end of they day, it's still a group of people talking into microphones about video games. We're not trying to reinvent the wheel or even make another A Life Well Wasted or a GameWank.

Sincere thanks for the feedback though, it's all appreciated and certainly helps stop any complacency setting in (there is none I can assure you).

While we're at it, can someone please change the thread's subtitle. Mods?

Haha. I unsubscribed today, the show has just been a mess for a while now. They obviously have an audience but it's a shame that people like Ryan and Sharkey, who are great on other podcasts, are drowned out by ranting and shouting from other cast members.

The Geekbox forum is full of people saying how much they love Adam's ranting too.

Am I just too old and don't understand?

I think the complaining about Adam is over the top. For various reasons I usually don't listen to a show until almost a week since it's been uploaded, and I hear all the complaining on here, and brace myself to be annoyed and every time I find myself thinking "is that it?". He's worse when he's obviously had a bit to drink, but nothing unsubscribe-worthy.

That said though, those guys from the Gamespy debriefings are just stone-cold cunts, and I will not be looking forward to the podcast if they're on.
