Just listening to the Joypod Expo podcasts at the moment. Was really interested to hear what was at the show, how it played, how it looked and so on, unfortunately I can't because Murray interrupts every 2 seconds with another 'hilarious' gag. Thank Christ he isn't a regular as he basically adds nothing to the show.

Gary Whitta & Colin Campbell have sort of resurrected the Game Theory podcast for IGN, the first episode can be had here.

It is always interesting to hear an English accent on an American podcast, and this one is made up entirely of English voices. They do seem a bit too chummy at the moment I think, they spend half the time finishing each others points and I was left wondering if two voices were needed on what is basically a monologue. Whitta is great fun on the Tested tech podcast though so I am willing to give it half a dozen episodes before I make my mind up.

The new podcast, "Cane and Rinse", from Leon "ratso" Cox & friends is at: www.caneandrinse.com

Thanks for the plug, friend.

Yes we are now live at http://caneandrinse.com with one short introductory podcast available now (http://caneandrinse.com/2011/09/20/the-c-r-podcast-issue-zero/) and the first show proper (on God of War III and related topics) out on Sunday.

Anyone listen to the latest retronauts live?

Had to switch off after about 15 mins after hearing the following lines from one of the female voices:

"What's parodius?"

"It's a pretty popular game that's on loads of platforms"

"Yeah, so popular that I've never heard of it!"

Sorry, but I need knowledgeable people hosting to enjoy Retronauts. Last weeks ep with the guy from hardcore gaming 101 was fantastic.

I was looking forward to Cane & Rinse but whoever this Scottish kid with the speech impediment is has nearly ruined it with his bubilybiblybubbid noises.

The rest of the presenters are great though, as I knew they would be - taking the strongest elements from Gamerdork and Digital Cowboys was always going to produce something worth listening to.

Er, thanks! 8)

Darren's not a kid though, and he doesn't have a speech impediment, he's from the North of Scotland and speaks Doric. It's a strong accent but he does tone it down when speaking to English people so as to make it less impenetrable. Sometimes when on Xbox LIVE I do lose track of what he's said and tell him he's gone 'too Scottish'. Apparently when he's in Japan they understand him perfectly however.

Anyway I hope you can learn to tolerate this after a period of acclimatisation as he's going to be in the show fairly frequently; his levels of gaming passion and knowledge are up there with anyone I've met.

I really miss Jeremy Parish's knowledge. Shame he hated doing podcasts so much.

Also, The Newb Review and IDKFA are getting better every week. Really look forward to those podcasts now.

As loath as I am to agree with Robin Tripp, he REALLY doesn't have a voice for podcasting. Great concept for a podcast though, just less rolling of Rs would be a starrrrrrt.

it's a good thing leon likes the sound of his own voice then, otherwise the others might get a word in...

I talked far too much on this week's show. Jay actually made it sound more balanced with his edit but what you didn't hear were the cut bits where I was pleading with an under-prepared (last minute stand-in) Jay and an extremely nervous Josh to come in more as I wasn't enjoying recording a monologue at all. I sincerely want the show to be a more even, lively discussion.

Having said that, if you don't like listening to me me me me ME you're almost certainly tuning in to the wrong podcast.

Anyone else having problems getting the Cane & Rinse podcast to work?

I downloaded the mp3 for listening to at work and when I open it in Media Player I get the following “The input media format is invalid”.

Im guessing the problem is that it’s an old version of media player that Im using, version 10 by the looks of it, as it works fine on my home PC.

Any thoughts?

It's an enhanced podcast, does your player support them?
