Aww man serious? Also Scott Bronley was a twat, he was a brofistingcockjockingretard. The whole 1up/IGN lot have nothing viable to contribute to videogames media any more in my mind, it died with the take over of 1up abd has been a slow, slow death. The only thing that had a bit of legs was RebelFM but I find that a grind now. Viva la UK and all who cast in her!

Proper sucks that Digital Cowboys are done (for a while at least)

:(

Please tell me it's because the idiot that thinks he's a character in Friends has been kidnapped, and possibly killed?

Actually, from what I can gather, his wife left him. I wonder if he did his usual whispered outrage thing 'ohmigod you gotta be kiddin' me, man!'.

You'd think someone had died going by the comments from their sycophants on the Digital Cowboys forum.

I really do hope DC come back some day. I'm fed up of every gaming podcast being, what ya been playing, news stories, uneducated talk on game development and 'I saw this game but can't tell you about it.

DC is so refreshing because they take a feature, research it an talk about it with passion. They are almost like a magazine feature and sadly no one else does that, let alone with such lively and interesting personalities.

Same as what has been said before really. Digital Cowboys had some excellent episodes discussing a variety of topics, which I will miss. However it has to be said that Alex was becoming increasingly irritating, by his bizarre Americanisms and generally shouting over what everyone had to say and dominating most of the podcasts with his opinion. I understood that it was his podcast, but that is generally bad form, especially whenever there were guests involved. The recent L.A. Noir podcast was somewhat embarrassing.

Having said that I hope it makes a return someday.

I'm surprised no one mentioned that Jeremy Parish is now the Editor in Chief of 1up. That's pretty crazy.

I really like Jeremy Parish, both for his written and podcast stuff. His RPG podcast was excellent. The fact he's now Editor in Chief is probably because he's the only one left (joking, but surely there's not many 1UP people left).

He seems pretty competent, so I'm not really sure why he's hung around throughout all this turmoil. Maybe they've managed to make the compensation appealing enough, or maybe they have some embarrassing photos locked in a safe, I dunno.

I just had a listen to Giantbomb for the first time today. I'm not quite feeling the love. For such a long show, they covered very little of worth, perhaps aside from the californian law case, but it wasnt a very interesting article to hear.

I found the game discussion to be very light of info. The games they spoke about made little sense to someone that hadn't played them. Rather than give a good background to a game that they've played, they just seem to go into chatting about it with each other, spending little time to think that the listener might have not played it.

I didn't really feel like I was listening to informed people that could offer any new incite any more than listening to a bunch of mates chat in the pub.

On top of all that, I felt like there was far too much off topic conversation.

I'm back on the hunt again for a regular podcast that can offer some real journalistic incite or at least a good format of taking about games in an interesting way, more than a passing the time way.

I used to really enjoy Idle Thumbs. While it had a lot of comedy waffle, it kept the game content and fresh information high and I felt like I came away from each episode with something to remember. RPS is another that I enjoy, but it's far too infrequent to be useful.

I might take a punt at the US PC Gamer one, shame that it's only PC based, but I can handle that if it's good.

Same here, there really isn't anything that good about anymore. I still listen to Weekend Confirmed, occasionally it's good, but more often than not it's really dull.

I'm just finishing off the PC Gamer e3 podcasts. If these are a fair representation of the normal show, then the signs are looking pretty good.

It's a shame that the show is PC only, although I have been thinking about getting back into PC gaming. The presenters alll seem pretty good and passionate though. Plus there's a distinct lack of forced comedy which is great.

So thanks to whoever recently recommended it.

Right! just listened to the update on the situation in the latest Digital Cowboys.

Jesus fucking Christ! Listen, personally i'm not interested in how Alex's relationship is with his wife. He has realised that there are things from the past that needs sorting out and that they both want to forge a future together side by side. Lovely!

However, this is deeply personal stuff that I actually find uncomfortable to listen too. I'm actually embarrassed that he's bring this stuff up.

Just notify us on the podcast situation and the plans of the future. I feels like a peeping top at a marriage guidance counsellor session.

Awkward stuff.

We'd love to have you on again at some point Uzi, would you be up for it?

It would be a pleasure man.

It's been so long I'll probably stink up the show though and you'll get hatemail so be warned. It'll be worse than having Leigh Alexander on.
