Gamerdork back to being good this week, which I'm quite happy about.

Many thanks for sticking around. Sassy (the giggly girl) was a stand-in guest while Ratso was off sick. She's not everyone's cup of tea but we're fond of her and she's part of our podcast network. We like to get other network members on from time to time to cross-pollenate. Ratso's match fit again and he's back in the first team now.

Last Save Loaded is a new podcast under the GamerDork banner and as it's been said before, it can take a few episodes for a new show to find its feet. We're feeding back to the guys often so I'd ask for a little patience while they get into their rhythm However, if you still don't like it then the GamerDork-only RSS feed is at http://gamerdork.net/?cat=101.

As noob also pointed out in the Joytunes thread, he's reviving his game-music based podcast this weekend and it'll come to live in the GamerDork house. It'll also have its own RSS feed that I'll advertise in this thread if you fancy tuning in. They'll soon have an email address for requests but if there's anything you fancy hearing then by all means post it in the Joytunes thread for now. We're really chuffed to have them with us.

Thanks again for sticking around. We really appreciate it.

Has anyone else listened to this weeks Joystiq podcast? They've tried moving away from their old format of currently playing, news, emails like a lot of other podcasts and went for a show focusing on Duke Nukem Forever this week with a couple of interviews followed by a review roundtable with the Joystiq reviewer talking to the reviewers from PCGamer and Arstechnica. Its certainly different and it'll be interesting to see where they can take the format.

I really liked the new format, it was reasonably intelligent without seeming pretentious. I hope they stick with it.

The latest 8-4 Play is worth a listen (even without the divine Gaming Jesus to helm it), if only johntv hadn't interrupted the question about a return to the racing game genre, it sounded like he was going to give him a reply on the subject :(

Cheapy D is a guest on the latest 8-4, isnt he? I'll probably give it a listen, the show itself is hit and miss for me. It's well done, but it often just doesnt cover areas of games I am personally interested in.

The first decent Rebel FM in what feels like months went up this week too. It's the first one I have actually listened to all the way through in a good six weeks, mostly because a lot of the previous episodes have been missing either Arthur or Anthony, or have had Tweedledum and Tweedledumber as guests. I still think Arthur is one of the best gaming pundits out there at the moment. There are times when he comes across as a bit smug, but he always backs up any point he is trying to make with good reasoning and argument. I like it when somebody actually knows their stuff and is willing to have a debate about things they disagree with others on which can be all to rare in the gaming press. The whole show was good this week, but the last 20 minutes or so where they talk about the Wii U was very interesting. Check it out.

8-4 Play has rapidly become one of my favourite podcasts. It was nice to hear Milky's voice on the latest episode.

Edit: Gah! Sorry Nayson. That's the second time I've accidentally negged someone today. This new pos/neg button layout is doing my head in.

They actually had a proper special guest on this week :) but as they were caught offguard, didn't really have any super-probing questions to ask him (missed opportunity) and the one interesting question he could have answered didn't get answered properly.

I'd love to give Whiskey Media $50 a year, but time and again since it's been introduced I've been unable to justify the money while we're saving for a house. I cheated last night and gave a fiver for a month then immediately un-subscribed, so I have a month to make it through the "Happy Hours" etc to date.

I can not express how much joy it brought me to watch the cobbled together Dave and Ryan webcam ep after new years, and have confirmation that another endurance run is going to happen at some point.

Endurance run of any description > BBC Breakfast.

The context was Dave trying to get a rise out of Ryan by picking the "When is the next endurance run" question from the chat. Something they get asked a lot. But Ryan took it in stride and confirmed it was something they were still going to do, but gave no specifics, presumably because they didn't have any at the time.

Still, It's nice to know they value the format, and haven't been scared off from it.

It's crazy how much entertainment I get from watching Vinny and Jeff play a game while I brush my teeth, and think about how when I was a kid the alternative was watching the weather forecast or whatever.

Having just listened to the latest Gamespy Debrief. I think that even I will have to stop listening.

It's not the racism or the constant "Sticking your dick into a woman will solve all life's problems" ideology. It's that some of the members, actually believe that their job is just as downbeat and depressing as a lot of minimum wage workers.

"Just get a better job"

If only it were that easy. :(

Sadly though Jeff has said on his Formspring and VYou pages that there probably would never be another endurance run, due it being a "right game, right time, right mindset" undertaking. I'd love to see another one though.

If anyone listened to last week's Geekbox, here is Adam Fitch at last year's E3, trying to think of all the things you can pickle in Harvest Moon:

Also, after Anthony had that right royal go at Sweden on Gamespy's fratboy podcast, did anyone see this almost "sniper scope" footage of him that turned up during E3 week, seemingly filmed at E3?

John Davison on Gamers With Jobs this week. Listening to GWJ for the first time in well over a year and I notice they have a new theme tune and a new cast. Only two minutes in so far, so lets hope they dont spend half an hour talking about fucking board games...

John Davison is just great to listen to. He always seems to level headed, never jumps in with his over blown predictions and seems to appreciate that no all gaming has to be hardcore.
