So far:

Brainy Gamer - Sounded alrightish so far, if a bit too dry. I'm only about half way through LA Noire so I switched it off as it was clearly spoilery. Didn't like the horribly long intro, or the promise of Leigh Alexander in the second half of the show, unless she spends the entire time she's on ironing my shirts in silence.

One Life Left - A few minutes of aimless chatter followed by a full 5 minute version of chip-music Gangster's Paradise. Couldn't last any longer. MAYBE I'll give it another go.

I'll give Dark Zero a listen.

I was fiddling with Garageband a while ago, and came across the 1Up Yours theme song (which, it turns out, is just a stock jingle on Garageband), and I suddenly missed the show terribly. :( I'm obviously just remembering the good times, but when that podcast was at its best, it was great.

I dont get a lot of the hate towards Weekend Confirmed, I really like it. The topic of discussion can get a bit anal sometimes, but the whatcha' been playing? and news sections are excellent.

Yeah, Garnett knows how to run a show, and they're good at staying on point.

It suffers from that sickly 'ahhahahaha aren't we ironic' thing that most UK podcasts suffer from. But at least they are actually funny most of the time, instead of simply thinking they are.

It would be cool if the E3 reunion show (Garnett, John, Shane and either Luke or Ellis) used the 1up Yours theme music. I doubt they will though.

And now this has made me miss GFW Radio all the more. :(

Nothing wrong with that bit, because they're often playing games which aren't out yet.

But they don't discuss or talk about the games that much, they mostly just describe what they did in the game 'I mapped these keys to activate this spell' etc. I don't mind when there's debate, but often all they do is describe. Back in the 1UP days they'd take a game apart, now they provide a kind of dull audio walkthrough of features.

I completely agree. Anthony was just relaying a bad experience but the HERDY GERDY SCHMERDY PURDY! being screamed out (literally) every 60 seconds was grating, and fucking offensive. I wonder if anybody has complained and if they have how seriously the complaints have been taken. For the sake of argument if Anthony had gone to Africa and the noises in the background had the noises had been ooga booga noises then they would have probably been sacked. I doubt very much whether they would have done it because there is a stigma about doing that, but is it really any different to what they did to Swedish people? Xenophobia is just as bad as racism in my opinion.

Scott Bromley and Brian Altano are just a horrible presence on podcasts. I think I find Brian Altano more offensive because he is just a cock, there have been times where Scott Bromley has been a guest on Rebel FM has shown he can at least string a sentence together. Brian Altano just seems like his pathetic sidekick who desperately needs to be part of a double act because he has nothing original or interesting of his own to say.

Had a look on twitter and Anthony appears to be apologising to people. Then claimed he was just "poking fun for comedy".

It be interesting to hear the people behind Edge do a podcast as the lack of top tier UK gaming podcasts is surprising, considering how big gaming is in this country, we would just rather let the Americans do it, it seems.

Weekend Confirmed or the E3 1UP reunion will hopefully be good, Gaming Jesus and ManGod back with the rest of the crew :)

That was a "special" fill-in show with no features and missing one of the presenters.

Start at the beginning of S3, or if you want more up-to-date then start at the beginning of the series that just finished (think it was 6). There's some really good guest appearances scattered around- Joe Cornish and Iain Lee both make appearances (season 4 IIRC).

Still making my way through the insane amount of GiantBomb stuff from last week. Three hours and twenty minutes into day two and this comes up in conversation: http://gamebomb.ru/

Mind. Blown.

Day 0 was great, some really interesting chatter. I was all set up for more quality. An hour into Day 1 and it's turned into a brofest, lots of hooting and shouting. Please tell me it gets better.

Was Day 1 the show with David Jaffe? If so, I thought that was pretty good. Overall, the quality of their E3 podcasts seemed surprisingly good to me given the sheer volume of guests and the length of time that they recorded for. I expected to bail long before the end but I happily listened to the whole lot.

Yes that's the one. Thankfully they've now settled down to a discussion about programming. It reminds me how little the technical aspects of games are discussed these days.
