To be honest Garnett isn't even my favourite thing about WC. They're all great and ultimately the show's greater than the sum if its parts for the chemistry they have. But if I had to criticise them I'd Jeff brings the passion and the whimsy; Brian the wit and knowledge; Garnett's the conductor of the orchestra and does it superbly, but to me the other two are the stars of the stars of the show.

Seriously? Every week sounds like the AGM at the Association of Cretins.

I just can't get into Weekend Confirmed. I don't really respect any of the views of the three guys. I liked it when Billy was on the show, but as soon as he stopped appearing I stopped enjoying it :(

I think the others on 1up helped make 1upYours a great show and Garnett had some great personalities to play off as a host.

Are there any decent videocasts that show game footage not just talking heads?

I stopped listening to podcasts after a few years, they're all too bleedin' long and my attention span is dropping. In terms of regular video podcasts, Viacom pretty much have the market to themselves as the only 2 I know of are both hosted at GameTrailers, probably a cost and equipment problem for everyone else who makes podcasts.

I don't mind In This Thread compared to what else is available at the moment. The best podcasts appear to be in the past, but I always find myself listening to ITT before Weekend Comfirmed.

Some of these podcats are too long. With Giant Bombcast I'm like just give me an hour of good content and fuck off instead of making me skip through long passages of drivel.

Looks like Digital Cowboys and 8-4 Play are all I have left for Podcasts now :(

Just started listening to 8-4 Play. Very promising so far with the unique perspective they have of being a bunch of English guys in the heart of Japan & i'm definitely going to keep listening.

This week's is a NES show and they have Kevin Gifford(Nintendo fan number 1) on the show. Should be a good listen.

Brian kicked the shit out of Garnett on the crouching debate. And I don't think a Steam OS is necessarily a bad idea. You'd just duel boot your machine and everyone would get a massive performance boost from not having Windows running in th background. I'm sure there'd be a fair amount of technical issues for the dev team to overcome, sure, but in principle I don't see why it's a bad idea. Just think how much time people spend optimising every little on their OS to get every little bit of juice out their machine they possibly can. I'd certainly give it a whirl.

I envy the position they're in in being in the heart of Japan & seeing all the cool Japanese stuff right away. I can't speak or read a word of Japanese so I never import & I wait impatiently for stuff like RPG's to be translated, but they have it all right on their doorstep & can understand & relay their views & impressions of it(in theory at least, & as long as it doesn't conflict with their translation work.)

Never listened to At1Up, but I still have the Active Time Babble (ATB) Podcast in my feed, despite them completely blanking the US release of Birth By Sleep. I know the PSP is pretty much dead in the US, but c'mon. :angry:

How safe is that one then? Based on recent form, I would expect Kat to be fired soon. :(

Both her & Chris Kohler seem to have hit on a sure-fire way of not being fired from 1Up then. Just don't actually work there.

Well, at least that was working for Chris until Jeremy got around it by removing the Podcast from around him. Does he turn up on any other shows?

This isn't explicitly podcast related, but I thought some people might like to know: Steve Gaynor has been (hot) scooped up by Irrational for the role of Senior Level Designer on BioShock Infinite.

Oh my god, that is such excellent excellent news. For both Infinite and the potentiality of more Idle Thumbs. I kinda doubt they'd do it without Video Games Rodkin though. If only Telltale would move to Boston too!

Anyone a paid Whiskey Media member? I just tried to sign up for the yearly membership on giantbomb, but really don't want to pay the extra $10 international shipping for a t-shirt i'm never going to wear.

I take it that means I should just grab a month's membership every now and again to catch up on missed content....

Annoyingly, at least for this week, they seem to have replaced Ray Barnholt with Scooter as host for the latest In This Thread. Resulting in an automatic deletion. A voice for radio, he has not.

Hell, I'd be happy enough wearing a Giantbomb t-shirt on laundry day. But Whiskey Media?

For such a community focused network you'd think they'd let you select the particular brand you relate to, rather than the logo you don't really notice or care about while visiting each site.

Meh, I've easily absorbed enough content to justify the redundant expenditure. It just seems a bit silly...the money doesn't go toward supporting them!

That because unfortunately they let ray go a couple of weeks ago he now freelancing he did a review for gamespy recently. Parish is the only good one left now.

Frank Cifaldi is good as well, but I still have no idea what they were thinking letting Ray go.
