Are there any decent videocasts that show game footage not just talking heads?

Bump! I came to ask the very same question. I haven't really subscribed to any video podcasts since the 1up show got canned.

I've just subscribed to Gametrailers' Invisible Walls podcast but that's it. Help!

I guess the Giant Bomb Quick Looks are the obvious answer. I'm not sure they really count as they are streamed from the website rather than delivered to your iPod, but they are definitely worth mentioning on the (slight) chance you were not already aware of them.

Gametrailers and G4 push content to iTunes. Have a search there.

Speaking of DarkZero, the first new one in ages popped up on iTunes today. The section on the Halo Reach launch was great, they were doing interviews at the launch in Times Square.

The one who sounds like Chris Martin and now lives in America: So, you like Halo then?

Fan in the queue for the Halo Reach lauch: Yeah, it's great.

The one who sounds like Chris Martin and now lives in America: Do you think it's bigger than COD?

Fan in the queue for the Halo Reach lauch: ...

It may have been even funnier if they had got someone who sounds like John Lennon. :coffee:

Seems Sharkey from 1UP has been fired a few days ago. I know he's a bit of a marmite character but i personally enjoyed him on the oddcast, swearing and all. Seems he has gone back to his own website and doing whiteboard stuff which is very clever and impressive.

Oh WTF, really? I thought 1UP was pretty much dead in the water, but then things began to pick up with the advent of The Sound Test and In This Thread, plus they've just relaunched the site. Ray Barnholt was really coming into his own and now it's all falling apart again.

1up was great in its time, but the announcement recently that Retronauts is ending was the last nail in the coffin & I don't bother with it anymore.

Still you never know. Give it a couple a years & maybe they'll be a new golden age with 1up's spiriyual successor ruling the Podcast roost with new faces interviewing the old names about their time in the wilderness.

I'm surprised that people still care tbh. 1up.com haemorrhaged so many great staff members from Luke and John leaving in late '07 through to the 1upocalypse in early '09 that it really wasn't the same place any more. I stopped posting on 1up when they made all those redundancies, I don't think I have even logged in there since Garnett Lee left. It's a shame, because it's a fantastic brand, but the people who own it now really don't get what made it so great. You just need to watch one of the intros to the 1up show to realise just how many people who put the place on the map have nothing to do with it any more.

Weekend Confirmed hosted by Garnett Lee.

The core team from 1up Yours is what I miss the most with John busy running websites & Shane gone to the "Dark Side". What I look for in a Podcast now is something that approaches that structure & flow & Weekend Confirmed is definitely the closest with Retronauts in 2nd place. Now that Jeremy has had enough of talking about the old days though that's broken up the nice team they had with Sharkey, Chris Kohler & Ray Barnholt which provided some of the most interesting discussions i've ever heard.

To be honest Garnett isn't even my favourite thing about WC. They're all great and ultimately the show's greater than the sum if its parts for the chemistry they have. But if I had to criticise them I'd Jeff brings the passion and the whimsy; Brian the wit and knowledge; Garnett's the conductor of the orchestra and does it superbly, but to me the other two are the stars of the stars of the show.
