I've just installed that one from rapidshare and get and error on logging in saying they cant validate the game version. Does that mean I've borked my install or will it be ok once the servers are back up?

Mine did that (56mb). I assumed it was normal while servers down and went and visited palm dale instead.

Hooray for enchant cost changes.

Maybe it's worse at higher levels, but I've got both Tailoring and Enchanting to about level 250 (me being level 47) and I've still got 220g in the bank - doesn't seem as costly as you lot suggested :(

Enchanting isn't expensive until you get to certain levels, the late 200's the late 300's are especially bad.

A few weeks ago, enchanting from around 430 to 440 was costing me around 300g-400g PER LEVEL. Beyond 440, it was *seriously* expensive so I didn't bother. It'll be better now with these changes, but still pretty nasty.

Even around 275, you're going to need Greater Eternal Essences which ain't cheap.

So much pain to discover! :(

High five on your profession options. I do the same.

Hexx the changes are specifically to Northrend enchanting, once you get past level 70.

The enchants you're skilling up on are probably something like 2 <greater random> essence and 8 <random>dust.

Until today, enchants were something like 40 dust and 20 essence or something ridiculous like that...

...Does mean that I won't make as much money from dissing stuff though. I really feel like I should have spent much more time than I did buying and selling. Oh well, I'll never be rich like people I know.

It occurs to me that for all the quests in the game, there is none more suitable for creating a spooky tale of nightmarish horror than...

..the one where you take Wolvar pups for the fat Walrus guys. I can just imagine the poor Wolvar Den Mothers sitting around the fires at night, telling the little pups to eat their greens else the evil zombie witch who soars through the skies on a fierce red dragon will swoop down, pick you up and fly off to eat you. The poor pups will hear this and have sleepless nights, whenever they hear the beating of wings overhead they'll wonder "Has she come for us?" and cry in their little beds.

It's I Am Legend, WoW style. I am a monster.

Is wintergrasp down on all the EU realms? I read that they switched it off on the US realms last night since it crashed the world server whenever someone won

They should just admit that their tech can’t come close to handling all those people in one small area and either instance it or keep it switched off/make it an NPC battle. It’s shit in its current incarnation.

Ok thats it, had enough going to roll a fucking rogue and level him up to cause mayhem in PVP!

Can anyone recommend what a good starting race is to level me up some rogue love?

I don't really care about PVE, just want to be an evil backstabbing rogue.

Any hints and or tips much appreciated, are there any good rogue websites?

cheers

J

It used to be roll Forsaken for PVP, due to Will Of The Forsaken being so good. It's been nerfed a bit now so...

Go Troll! Troll rogues not only look cool but they actually are cool. In all seriousness though, It's much of a muchnness on the Horde side, Orcs get a little attack power trinket I think which is ok-ish, Trolls get a haste buff and they look cool, Blood elves get a quite nice mini silence. But all in all races don't matter so much, Alliance have the far better ones now

Oh and hints and tips, forget daggers from the off. They are rubbish to level with, go swords or maces (There aren't many fist weapons at low levels) and spec mostly in the Combat tree. The Sub tree is the most fun but very weak at low levels.

Remember - Rogues are RUBBISH at lower levels, you don't get any nice things until the 20 - 30s so they can be a bit hard going at first.

Enjoy yourself!
