2k+ rated arena team made up of 3 prot Paladins <3

Link

I hate paladins (in PVP)

I love paladins (in PVE)

Honestly I going a bit bipolar about them at the moment!

As for patch not going up, I'm kind of happy latest PTR has at least 2 massive warlock changes, they keep this up and I'll be able to PVP again <_<

Giev patch! I want my normal taunt/ranged pull :)

Edit* I also get buffed it seems - Seal of Blood now deals 27% of normal weapon damage. (up from 22%) + Seal of Command now Gives the Paladin a chance to deal {0.45*Min Weap Damage+0.45*0.23*SpellPower} to {0.45*Max Weap Damage+0.45*0.23*SpellPower} additional Holy damage. (Old - Didn't scale with Spell Power) + Judgement of Wisdom now give each attack a chance to restore 2% of the attacker's base mana. (Old - 1% of the attacker's maximum mana)

Dealing more damage and get more mana back to boot - bargain! Not to mention Forebearance is finally removed from the game by the looks of it :P

It's not a buff as it does that damage currently, they just hadn't updated the tooltip. The patch fixes the tooltip to reflect this. Forbearance isn't removed from the game either. AW doesn't cause forbearance any more but divine shield, HoP and others will still cause forbearance on you or your target.

We are getting a DPS buff, Vengeance is stacking 5 times instead of the current 3. But none of the other changes are a DPS buff.

Anyone else had performance issues since WotLK? (on PCs that used to be able to run WoW just fine) Even after scaling back the view distance to about half and turning shadows down to minimum I still get some nasty stuttering in Northrend. So much so it's actually putting me off playing any of this new content. I'm not sure exactly what they've done to the engine (I thought it was just some new spell effects and a larger draw distance...) but it's buggered something up!

I upgraded my graphics card (and consequently, my power supply) to a NVIDIA GEforce 9800GT after wotlk as the expansion changes meant everything was runing at 10fps even with the graphics turned down low.

Framerate's fine now even with the graphics up high but it seems to take much longer to load new areas (Dalaran's especially bad) than it used to and there's an odd stutter when I pan the camera round in new areas, like the processor's struggling to keep up or something. It's bearable and I don't ever notice it when I'm in an instance or a raid but just a bit worrying.

AMD Athalon 64 X2 Dual core 3800+, is my current one but it's probably due for the chop

It was my first heroic. I wasnt expecting it. I'd just switched to mutilate spec. I was hilariously bad. Picking up the rotation pretty quickly though. It's all about a) Where is the mob im trying to kill B) Is it doing anything thats going to kill me c) What do I need to refresh next and how many combo points do i have. It's a bit crazy.

Heroic fucking Oculus (POS DIE IN A FIRE LAST BOSS!) - nothing comes close to the totally retarded idea of making this instance so completely unpuggable. I mean, when you ask for DPS for it and you have a tank and healer and no-one wants to volunteer to come along, you know something is up.

Utterly fucking retarded. I only need Oculus for the heroic dungeon and Champion of the Frozen Wastes achievements, but getting a guild fucking run seems out the question. Everyone else has done it in the guild and no-one wants to help me do it, so much I have to pug it and most pugs are people who havent gone before and so dont have a clue what the drakes do. ARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!! :)

Anyone know if WoW is more processor intensive than graphics card intensive? I have a feeling that the Intel Dual Core E6750 might be the weak link in my machine.

I'm running an ancient AMD 3000 slightly clocked to 2.3ghz with a geforce 6800 and a gig of ram. Granted I've got all settings on low other than view distance and spell detail, but my frame rate is totally fine. Hell even with everything maxed I can get about 20fps.

If things are taking a long time to load and you're getting stuttering it's usually just your hard drive needing defragged. Use Defeaggler rather than the windows one though. Another thing to look at is addons. Disable and delete the ones you don't need/use.

EDIT: This applies as much to Torpedo Ted as well.

I'm fairly sure a lot of the stuttering issues are driver based. Get the latest graphics card drivers if you haven't already. That fixed it for me (ATi 4850) and I definitely read about similar things with nVidia cards.

My PC is usually nice and smooth, but doing Naxx 25 last night it was definitely struggling. I blame people having stupid flappy birds and cuddly polar bears wandering around eating up my graphics for no good reason and show off ranged dps going mad with all their 'I'm so special, look at my lovely aoe spells!' on trash.

:)

Yep, WoW is generally regarded to be a CPU-intensive application and is relatively GPU-light. Switching from an 7900GT to an 8800GT didn’t boost my framerate as much as going from an Intel E2160 to an E8400.

I decided to get onto the PTR.

2 bits of fun for me: If you ended up with the same achievement bug as me and got stuck on 99/100 Zul'drak quests, despite everyone going "WELL YOU MUST HAVE MISSED ONE" it has indeed been a reported bug. On the PTR however, I have 100/100 and also the Loremaster of Northrend. Woo!

Secondly...CATSWIPE!

It's actually more spammable than I thought, and does way more damage than I thought. It's pretty viable AOE now I think. More cumbersome than say, blizzard, as you have to be up close and have all mobs in front of you but that's a fair trade off considering dress-wearing mana users are really the ones supposed to be aoeing.

It does. So 100 energy, you do it twice, by the time you've spent 2 GCDs you've got another 50 energy recharged virtually, so you can do it again. Tigers fury restores 60 energy for another one, and maybe if you wait abit, you can do another one. etc. I've found most aoe trash doesn't even last that long unless oyu're the only one doing it, but if it does, berserk probably works.

I had talented swipe for the above screeny as well.

So am I the only person who thinks Oculus is terrible? The last boss is just stupid, I really think Blizzard put it there to annoy people so they cant get the achievements for killing him unless they go with a group who know what they are doing 100% and make no mistakes. It just seems too unforgiving to me. Am I overreacting, or is the instance the most hated heroic? No-one wants to go there ever it seems!

I'd say Halls of Stone heroic is probably on par for being annoying. The event needs pretty intense DPS the few times i've been there on heroic now.

Hmm, I did it fine, but yes I was wearing a mix of T6 and northrend heroic gear etc. And yes it was a bit hairy sometimes. Tbh I dont really like many the heroics in Northrend because they all seem to dish out insane damage and yet people dont really have the stamina compared to it. I know its been said already, but I really do think DPS went up but stamina only increased half as much

I don't have a problem with any of the heroics now except Occulus (which requires a decent group, and vent makes it a lot easier too).

But then I've mostly been running heroics lately with guildies, and we're all in a mixture of heroic and naxx 10 ilvl 200 epics and blues. It means that they've all become pretty trivial (we did the bronze drake event the other day and got to the boss with 6 minutes on the clock).

I think there needs to be a "heroic" heroic, because at the moment they just aren't challenging enough. They're designed for a group with roughly 1.4-1.5k average dps, whereas it's been 6 weeks and already most in my guild average around 2k dps.

I'm not sure if it's a problem with the ease of access to gear, or the level of tuning the heroics have received, but it'd be nice to find them a challenge again.
