We have own own inhouse enchanter, but cheers anyway!

The best thing about our guild is that I'm the only Shammie. And mail wearer. I've never worn so many epics!

Duncan I was bored and checked you're talent specs and I noticed you dont have Elemental Weapons or Imp Earth Sheild, their both essential to any resto spec imo. You can dump the Threat talent as thats completly useless right now.

Just about every resto shaman seems to have slightly different specs from what I've seen. I've not seen 1 without Imp. Earth Shield before though and most have Elemental Weapons too. I went for: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hZ0xxIZxcebVxoxkrIRt . Dropped a point in Healing Focus (and would probably drop both if I was going to raid seriously) and didn't take Tidal Focus. The reason I didn't take Tidal Focus is it's primarily an extra "oh shit" button to go with Nature's Swiftness and it's not even that reliable as it doesn't guarantee a crit (not with my crappy gear anyway  ).

I don't really see the appeal of Elemental Weapon. A 30% bonus to Earthliving weapon is +45 healing spell power, that's not very impressive for 3 talent points. You get food that gives a bigger buff than that...

That looks pretty fine. Though you might not want to put that point in imp blizzard. Imp blizzard is great fun, but when you are low level with much fewer points to spend, it might be a waste. Not like you aoe everything down. Reducing the cooldown of nova, coldsnap, icy veins etc might be beneficial as you might find frost nova saving your skin a few times. But otherwise what you've picked is fine. Shatter is great fun, and making sure your mobs move as slow as possible is good as if a mob does actually reach you they can take your health down quite fast.

For levelling, I've always found it best to just pile all my points into frost. It's hard to get some decent talents in the other trees without giving up a lot of fun stuff in the frost tree. I don't know about arcane, but I just found it too frustrating to level with: You have massive burst, but with shorter range and lots of downtime.

Then again last I tried arcane was early wotlk beta. But frost is so much fun levelling, and tends to get a bit boring in instances at high level so I'm enjoying it while I can, because i know fire will be my spec once I hit 80.

Blizzard with Frostbite/Shatter is crazy damage now so it's probably entirely possible to level solely using it. I imagine you'd have to drink a fair amount but it could well be very fast levelling if you can be bothered to gather several mobs up every pull. I'm fairly sure at 80 with my gear and specced for it 1 Blizzard will kill a normal level 80 mob (~12k health) - not sure it the same at lower level with lesser gear though.

I do love instances and yes, Frostbite/Blizzard/Shatter/Imp Blizzard does ATM appear to be absolutely devastating if there's 3+ mobs in the area.

It doesn't kill everything in one, but does pretty respectable AoE damage - especially if you Cone of Cold first

Mwaahahahahaha.

Hit level 80 last night and am all excited to get my Trollwoven gear and my Ice Strikers cloak. So what has some dick done? Forced the prices of Frozen orb from 70g to 190g, and Eternal Fire from 30g to 50g.

Someone needs to make a FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- gif for this.

Spellpower is the most important stat and its better than some of the resto talents so its a must have imo.

The thing about blizzard aoe farming is you need to be really pro at it, because any downtime where you have to oh-shit run away or die or whatever ruins any chance it had at being an 'efficient' grinding spec. It's dead fun though, but I mean, it's probably better to put the points in at higher levels when you have way more to play with.

Wait...people use Blizzard to kill things solo? It's good but it's not that good...(yet).

I'm really enjoying leveling my mage (I think knowing the game helps a bit too).

Also I don't know what people are complaining about with Tailoring/Enchanting. By using Auctioneer I can keep track of what to disenchant or auction, I can sell/disenchant the things I've made...

Doesn't seem too bad for gold atm.

No - I don't mean for using blizzard to kill a single target.

I mean, aoe-grinding, gathering up a few mobs and then blizzard-ing them down feels like it's really efficient but you have to factor in downtime from drinking and mistakes where maybe you take more than you can chew, and compare as to whether that's really faster than just single-target frostbolting or not.

Blizzard's slowing component will get nerfed a bit in the patch.

It's a huge increase in Critical Chance when combined with Shatter?

Permafrost is there to increase Critical Chance too ;)

What's SP? :(

is wasted at low levels because threat isn't an issue (unless your tank is utterly clueless...)

I do lots of PuGs. My last tank didn't know what agro meant <_<
