I'm not bored. I only just hit 80 before Christmas and then didn't get to play for most of the time I was off, so I have a whole load of stuff to catch up on. I don't have that much time for playing anyway, so it always feels like there's something more to do - JC dailies, rep dailies, mining or instances, or even catching up on older quests or achievements. I don't have the gear to dip into raids just yet, even if I did have time for it - so that's another thing to plan towards - although I did get to play with 10-man Archavon last night, which was pretty fun.

Amazingly bored....

Cant understand why really. There seems to be more to do at 80 than there was at 70 but I have no compulsion to do any of it.

Rather than piss myself off with it and logging in out of habit I've actually taken to playing OTHER games, I even completed a game for the first time in about 2 years!

Raiding this week might put me back into it, if not I may be due a proper-WoW break.

I hear ya man - I've been going through my 360 collection (I notice from my friends list you have too ;)) and it's been quite fun and refreshing. Except Fallout 3. Still can't get into that game ;)

I'm actually not bored of the game at the moment. I'm bored of raiding because my raiding situation is shit and I'm slowly sort of thinking toward some kind of resolution (my current stance which achieves nothing is "screw this, I'm not raiding with you because it's no fun for me", which I think is perfectly fair and is understood by the only person in the group who actually matters to me), but I really don't know quite what I can do in raiding terms at the moment for alternatives... so far WOTLK seems to have been a lot more forgiving in terms of time that anyone needs to actually put in to see and do things, but I suspect Ulduar will change this.

That's all a bit cryptic, especially coupled with my sporadic little whines, but the situation is basically summed up thusly:

Two nights ago we were in Naxxramas, and one of our three healers went AFK. Being the cautious sort I was reluctant to proceed without him. The guy had something IRL to sort out and said in raid chat that he was AFK. Me and him are the only two non-Danes in the guild and as such we avoid Ventrilo because it either makes you feel like a stupid five year old who can't learn anything or you have to force people into stilted conversation that they don't want. So they were all yapping away happily on Vent. I was sitting next to one of them, and we approached the first boss with Mr Healer still afk. I point this out in raid chat coz I think the tone sounds like they MIGHT be going... but they ignore it...They just charge in. No ready check, no asking if I was ready (despite sitting RIGHT NEXT to the main tank!), or if Mr AFK was. It's just shit!

So yeah, I'm loving doing all the quests and achievements. I even suddenly want to get all my rep up which never interested me before. The fact this kind of thing is 'ticked off' by the achievement system just makes me want to do it. I love it!

And when I get bored I'm going to try and level a hunter again to fly fast and farm me herbs. ( @ cowfields)

I'm not bored either. I genuinely find achievements fun to pursue - well most of them anyway. Straightforward "Grind this rep" is a bit boring, on the other hand silly little things like killing turkeys or falling distances can be enjoyable. And right at the top of the scale, getting instance based ones are a lot of fun. A lot of them encourage you to simply play better as well, for example the undying.

And I enjoy raiding too. I think because cat-dps has become quite complex and technical and thusly fun. Andd I can actually manage to do well with it. I'm really looking forward to Ulduar though, as Naxx is getting a little boring and we've almost done all the achievements in there. It's only really sartharion that's got a decent challenge. Ask Chantinelle how he feels about that fight.

The bottom line is this though: If Ulduar suffers from the same atrocious wholly unplayable lag that is plaguing Naxx, Sarth and Malygos, i'll be forced to stop playing. They need to stop 'looking at optimising' things and just buy some fucking new servers. I don't know anything about server technology, but I'm fairly sure that a company that just proudly announced how many more subscribers (money) they're getting, surely buying more hardware will help sort it out? I can't think of any other reason for this lag, other than the fact that EVERYONE is raiding now due to the accessibility and puggability of it now. It cannae take much more captain!

Perhaps it's better on other servers, but I just don't know if I could ever leave Draenor unless I could be sure everyone I knew was coming with me

Oh get stuffed, I like a challenge as much as the next guy (and you cried enough about M'uru back in the day so shut it!) but the fact is Sartharion is as interesting as a real ale drinker showing you his cardigan collection. There's no build up, no incentive, no explanation. If they'd used Lady Sinestra, had there been some kind of lead in then fine, groovy but no, nil, nada. And as discussed ad nauseum, the actual fight itself is bloody horrible fight for a (kitten weak) pet class, you basically can't use one. If you do, you spend half the time frantically trying to keep it alive and thus not doing damage, ie. your raison d'être. The portal mechanic is tired and stupid, not to mention what bright spark came up with the idea of having the terrain consist of R-98 G-1 B-1 and throwing in shadow fissures those poor melee suckers can't see beneath them and the Death Knight's D&D*.

In short, there's bugger all epic about it, just "lolz cut & paste more dorgans onto this island, oh and lets have a bit more red to break up the monotony". Fuck it, it's not worth my time and I'm not going to put myself out over it for a third-rate Netherdrake wannabe. Malygos is zomygoshamazing and loretastic with it (though shame they didn't refer to his bug form), why couldn't they have made it more like that?

*Note - I have never died to it, I'm just saying I don't blame anyone who does. Unless they're that crappy priest who dies to everything, in which case fuck that guy.

I bought the DK tanking neck last night and managed to pick up a couple of decent rings and a trinket too. The tank legs didn't drop in VH though.

What's the worst thing about WoW for me right now is that my router keeps fucking resetting randomly and the Mac still crashes once a night. It's really fucking up my DPS and ting. Ah well, at least I can use it as an excuse to justify just being shit!

I like my Mage.

Also (and don't tell any of the Mukers) Tailoring and Enchanting seem to make a good combo - make stuff in tailors, disenchant it <_<

I've made myself some wonderful cloth stuff, enchanted too  - only level 11, but got both up to about 90 pretty easily. Just need more patterns/enchants :)

I'm a bit bored of parts of the game at the moment. I'm not enjoying raiding at all truth be told and with PVP slightly being borked I've been just pottering about really for the last few days.

Still I am enjoying just doing that funnily enough, an Achievement here, a couple of Dailys there. Passes the time.

FINALLY got my axe drop in Halls of Lightning heroic, probably to the relief of all the muk healers! Don't need anything from heroics now for my dps spec, but might start properly working on collecting a healing / tank set now. I have 120 badges of justice that I have no idea what to do with too.

Been back for nearly two weeks now after a near two year break. Anyhow, my alt hunter used to have this spell where if a healer was casting a heal, I could interrupt it and stop them casting. I could be wrong, but I think it worked on offensive spells too.

Problem is, I really can't remember what the shot was called. Any idea what it's called and what tree it can be found in? Had a look at survival and marksman but really can't see it, though I probably just missed it.

silencing shot, survival tree afaik
It's marksman. It's quite skippable if you're a pve hunter though, as it's only a silence and not an interrupt. I think. Anyway it's definately MM.

Cheers for that. Had a quick look on the WoW talent calculator and found it. I've no idea how I ever had that shot though- I've always been heavily into the Beast Master tree and it simply isn't possible at level 60 (my level) to have both bestial wrath and silencing shot.

From memory it definitely interrupted mid cast, it was like my Shamans Earth Shock.

Can only imagine they've massively changed the talents, or the shot I used to use has gone completely. Maybe it's that, as I can't find Grace of Air totem on my Shaman, it's now been put on Strength of Earth.

I am a PvE Hunter though, and as an alt it's mainly been played solo or in a 2 doing quests.

I should elaborate on what I meant. Bash (druid stun) always 'interrupted' healing, because it would stun. So if a target can be silenced, silencing shot will interrupt the cast and silence.

However if a boss was immune to stuns - bash being a stun, would not interrupt anything (of course this is a bad example now as bash officially got changed to an interrupt).

If a boss is immune to silence but not spell-interrupts, does silencing shot still interrupt? It probably does actually and I'm way wrong. You know for interrupting bosses like Kel'Thuzads frostbolts or whatever.
