You don't want to know what the hit cap for Rogues is atm

Oh wait here it is -

Extra buffs or debuffs Specials Poisons White

None 99 315 755

Imp FF or Misery on target 99 237 755

Imp FF or Misery & Hp* 66 210 722

Sorry for the crappy cut'n'paste

Something is wrong with Rogues atm, the DPS is about 10 - 15% lower than it should be. Doing Naxx with Muk I thought it was me, and I think I am kinda lower than I should be, but pvewise it seems we suck a bit at the moment.

*HP is the Spacesquid buff, forget the name

Spec 6\22\43 honour among thieves, get eviscerate glyph, win at damage meters. It's fun for a while although I think I'd prefer them to fix the other talent trees.

I've wondered about rogues. At first I just put it down to the difference in gear, me having dinged a while ago and done many 10 man naxx and heroics and gotten lots of 25 man gear even, and our rogues, well, not...and I am so far ahead of them (as a cat) on the dps meters it's silly*. Maybe it is gear mostly but I wonder if they have talent specs in need of fixing.

* Then again when actually specced full cat I'm ahead of most people on the meters, which is because I'm so skillful! I bet you I scale horribly and it drops and drops with each tier.

After a section of being really poor (30-34 was getting hard to buy ANY training) - I love the AH.

Medium/Heavy Leather/Hides are making me a fortune! (Especially if you set "Buyout" and undercut by a gold or 2! I made 26g last night!

Woo.

The economy is going crazy these days - it's absolutely swimming in money. I logged off last night at midnight then popped back on this morning before heading to work, and I'd sold items worth in excess of 1000g. Five minutes of fiddling with gems and enchants later, I had another 1500g of items up for sale and I expect most of them to be gone when I get home tonight.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm actually intending to do with the money I make, but the AH is a fun mini-game right now.

I thought about it actually, but then you need to stack Rogues for it too work don't you?

Apparently its not a gear thing even, so god knows what they have got wrong. Problem is Blizz will have a hard time fixing it without screwing up the PVP side of it. Even assuming they are going to fix anything

Nonono, that wasn't my point at all. Wasn't belittling your progress so far, just expanding on the issue you brought up. It's all relative, and 26g in a night for a mid-30s toon who only started playing a fortnight ago is very nice.

Works of any crits at all doesn't it? So you probaly just need a crit happy bunch of people about..

edit: and I'll be pretty crit happy come the next patch and Elemental Mastery changing from 1 garuanteed crit to +20% crit for 30s! :(

I can never be ballsed with the AH. I end up giving my leather and ore to guildies. I should sell it all now though, I need my epic flyer for my Paladin.

Odd thing is at the moment I'm not enjoying the game at all, but I'm making plans to do stuff as I go to 80, but I log in and think "fuck this" and log out again. I am in Grizzly Hills which I'm finding ridiculously dull. But Dragonblight (save the event) pissed me off an all. Iza keeps telling me it'll be better when I get my epic flying skill and the pass at 77 but I'm not so sure.

Sorry for the emobloggyness of that.

You'd be better off getting handouts from Jack - he's much richer than me, and more than likely has far better gear these days too.

Poor me.

blah blah levelling is dull blah blah

What worked for me was hitting 80 and not having to level any more. Levelling is dull. Dull Dull Dull. I can't stand it, I dug out an alt the other day* and managed about 3 quests before I gave up on the tedium of it.

Being 80, flying through the sky, killing bosses in dungeons. That's what's good about life. Gathering 8 globernockwocks for Percvil the dull gnome to fix his woozermatic is always going to have a hint of tedium about it.

Mind you, saying that Icecrown is actually pretty good. So go there.

Well the reason people started using HAT is that on some realms it is bugged so you get double combo points for each rogue. That doesn't seem to happen on Draenor but even so the combo point generation is crazy. Just put all the people with the highest crit in your group, watch the combo points roll in and spam away on eviscerate. On fights where you can stand still and nuke it blows the competition away. I've been using the swords I had as combat which isn't ideal because you can't spec for CQC or aggression and it's still no real problem to top meters. I picked up up 2 fast daggers last night (webbed death and murder) so looking forward to trying out the proper spec and seeing how high it goes.

It can be a bit gimp for 5 man with the wrong group but not nearly as bad as I expected. Pally healers are great for it, I sometimes ask for them to be moved into my group in 10 man if I know they'll be spamming FoL.

The thing is, I liked levelling, it was the reason I played. People tell me Sholozar is nice so maybe I should go there. Depends if I can drop the OCD "must finish all the quests in the area rather than drop them" mentality.

I like leveling - but I miss people to team/explore with.

I'm liking leveling far more now both continents have been pretty much fully flightpathed - but I'm getting a little bit annoyed that so much travelling is required for quests - I miss "stay in zone" quest chains.

Conflicting opinions! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!

I preferred Sholazar Basin's music, it was very nice after finishing Grizzly Hills. Quite relaxing I thought.

I dinged 80 after finishing Howling Fjord, Borean Tundra, Dragonblight, Grizzly Hills and some of the basin, as I was also doing the dungeons and their quests as well as dailies as I was levelling. Mucho XP from dailies btw peeps!

Hmm lots of crazy things going on in this thread!

I really liked Grizzly Hills. I don't get why people say it's hard to get around at all. It also had some fun questlines and the music was great.

Sholazar is NOTHING like that shithole Nagrand. I fucking HATE Nagrand but Sholazar is probably my favourite area of the expansion in all honesty. I like the atmosphere, the look, the music (that little whistly bit is awesome when it randomly pops up and I can't help but whistle along) and the Nesingwary quests are actually FUN unlike the horrible snorefest ones in Nagrand. Loved it.

As for alts...I've got to the point on my main (DK) now where I have all the gear (mostly) that I need from heroics, I've all but finished questing, I'm fairly rich through dailies and the AH and my rep is high enough with those I need it with and I even have epic flying. This is a weird situation for me to be in as I have NEVER, in almost 5 years of playing WOW, been at this point before. All that's left is to finish off Outlands and Azeroth but I canne be arsed. So instead I tried levelling my Rogue. Specced him Mutilate. Died lots. Boring. Tried my Warrior. Went prot (ZOMG). I enjoy shield slamming stuff in the face but in truth I can't be arsed playing him that much. I certainly can't be arsed with the OCD 'must complete every quest in each zone' attitude that I held with my DK.

Oh and Icecrown is awesome. This is coming from someone who thought the last 'endgame' area in TBC was utter, utter shit - Shadowmoon Valley. Across 5 70s and an 80 I've never done more than 5 or 6 quests there. Fucking shit. Icecrown is tops, though.

I feel the same after getting my Death Knight to 80, tried to go back and level my rogue who is stuck at 76 but it just bored me, I dunno if this is because DK's are new or just amazing, I suspect the latter. The only bit of kit I really need now on my DK is the DPS legs from heroic UK then I have all I can get from heroics, I guess I'll start working on a tanking set.

I have had so much fun on my DK I dunno how I can go back to playing other classes, for example in Gun Drak last night everyone died cept for me and the healer and I managed to flip to frost and take down the boss on my own, this aint the 1st time that has happend either.

They're new, fresh and exciting in a game many (including myself) have been playing for a long time. They are also extremely powerful in capable hands(ie: mine ) whilst not being overpowered. I must say Blizz have balanced them very well imho - probably better than some of the classes that have been knocking around for 5 years now!

But...how? What do they do

Big Damage, wear plate, tank, summon pets, summon gargoyles, walk on water, summon a fucking army of dead zombies, heal yourself while you damage, horn of winter buff, aoe the fuck out of shit and a 1 minute cooldown hearthstone for good measure.

I wouldn't recommend a Death Knight as your first 'proper' character past 60. They're very hard to play well imho and I think require a very good understanding of the game and it's mechanics. Sure, you could probably faceroll your way to victory but where is the fun in that and to be fair (much like any class) bad DKs are fucking shocking and a detriment to a group. Plus I would say you're more likely to get groups as a priest.

Also, they're not overpowered
