Earthbound was great, the low-fi gfx were part of the charm. The visual style of this therefore sits very well with me.

The missus will be pleased. One of the only games she has ever played through from start to finish.

I now officially hate you all. I have to stop reading this forum as its costing me a fortune. I now want to go and buy a SNES and a copy of Earthbound. Whats the best (and cheapest way to go about this? PAL SNES plus one of those universal cartridge adaptors or maybe a US SNES with some extra power supply?

Anyone taken the plunge with this? Couple of people on PlayAsia say that the game being in Japanese doesn't terribly detract from the experience...and with no word of a Western release, I think I've just convinced myself to press that buy button...

Hopefully this means an initial play through, then bug fixing and some minor hacking, then possibly a beta release (as that tends to be the pattern with translations throughout the last decade or so) before a final release.

There's a "stuff left to do" page somewhere on their site. In a recent update Mato said they were almost done, but with (closed) beta testing the patch is still about three months away.
