I like Polarium.  In fact I think it's better than the ultimately pointless Meteos.

What like these comments about Meteos? You might not like the game, but it doesnt make it pointless (at least no more so than any other puzzle game).

Wheres the best (cheapest) place to get Ouendan from?

£25 from yesasia, thats including shipping which is taking about a week at the moment.

Fair crack of the whip!

chuckle chuckle brothers.

;)

:D Puntastic! Oh, and do persevere. Dawn of Sorrow is amazing.

EDIT: Damn you and your quick fingers, Andy.

Not intended I promise!

Anyway, now the DS is officially my Main Console, I'm after a decent case. I'm looking for something which holds the DS, a longer stylus and plenty of games. At the moment I'm using an old official GBA one which fits the DS quite nicely, but the little carts just rattle around in the back, meaning every search for another game turns into a lucky dip.

Any recommendations?

You can buy little...converter...things to use SD memory cards full of roms with now can't you?

yeah there is a device you can use to yarrr ds games and i know where to get the roms, but i cant be bothered to yarr DS games as i feel like i want to support the little wonder ;)

the PSP is a different matter tho, i'm glad i yarr everything off that cuz most of the games a shite.

It's the shallowest and dullest game I've bought for quite some time. It looks fancy at first, but it doesn't take long to get fed up of the overly simply and limited gameplay. And just to round it off I can't even put my name in the highscore list if I beat my wife.

I can't believe the love for this game, it's rubbish.

The question is, what do I trade it in for before it loses too much value.... Wario Ware, that any good?

Thats just not really true, ok so you dont like how it plays, but it isnt (overly) simple or limited, anyway...

That depends on what youve already got and what you want, at the moment id say either Castlevania or Advance Wars DS would be your best bet, both are amazing games and both offer something different. I personally love WW:T but other people find it a little limited, and it isnt as good as Twisted anyway.

You cant trade in for it, but you should also seriously consider getting Ouendan if you havent already, best DS game by far.

It is overly simple and limited. In fact I don't think I've ever played a game where I can actually do so little in it to influence things.

And maybe even that wouldn't be a major problem, but it feels to me that I'm just going through the motions when playing the game. There's so little I can actually do, I feel like I haven't made any choice or tactical decision.

Anyway, enough.

The game is totally rubbish and you're all losers for liking it. Let's just leave it at that, shall we? :P

EDIT: You can keep your Advance Wars too. Another game I just can't see what the fuss is about. It's almost as if I never played Rebel Star on my Spectrum 20 years ago...

That's an eyebrow raiser. I quite like Meteos, not a raving fan of it or anything, but I like how it's clever because of the neat ways you can interact with your meteos stacks - lining up neighbour blocks for the touch-down, flicking blocks up to your group, re-lining metoes up in an airborne group. Compared to something like Puyo or Tetris, for example, there's plenty of extra ways you can interact with a stack. It's kind of on a par with Wario's Woods in that respect, and WW and Meteos are about as complex in terms of the inteface as any block-puzzler can really get away with. If anything, it's a little bit too chaotic sometimes; and there's an accordantly large number of tactical choices for the player to be making at any given time.

Maybe give it another go Pug, sounds like you're not really understanding how you should be playing the game, to be honest. Are there any vids about of someone good at the game impressing with their elite skills, anyone know?

Since going on my mad DS game buying spree my girls (aged 6 and 4) have really taken to the DS in a big way. Perhaps surprisingly, the game that they like best is Super Mario 64. They both love the mini games, and the oldest is also enjoying playing the main game (she's never played the original but is a big Sunshine fan).

Incredibly, SM64DS has been a kind of gateway drug for them, making the DS' accessibility and intuitivity so obvious to them that they've been trying out most of my other games. This is particularly noticeable in the 4 year old who has never shown any previous interest in gaming (unlike her sister who was playing Yoshi's Story at 2). So they are now both into Nintendogs, Mr Driller, Meteos, Pac Pix, and Yoshi Touch & Go. The only problem is that they are both wanting to play on the DS at the same time, meaning that (i) they are continually fighting over it and (ii) I don't get a look in until they've gone to bed.

It seemed obvious to me there was only one possible solution to this, so yesterday on the way home from work I popped into Gamestation for a spot of Christmas shopping. And emerged 10 minutes later with two pink Nintendogs bundles, GBA Kingdom Hearts (for the 6 year old), Pokemon Pinball (for the 4 year old), two DS accessory packs, and £230 less in the bank.

So from Christmas Day, we'll be a THREE DS household.

What's only occurred to me this morning, is that I do a lot of business travelling, but now I'll be able to play Mario Kart or Animal Crossing with the girls from wherever in the world I am.

Pugfugle - You only don't like Meteos because you can't play it properly. If is fair enough to dislike something but the game is in no way 'pointless' or 'rubbish'!

http://www.ntsc-uk.com/review.php?platform=nds&game=Meteos

I think this review says it all...

Darren - Want another game...

Pac N Roll!

I wan't expecting much from this title but I think it's a wicked little game, Ive fallen for its charms. Definitely worth checking out! I got the JPN version off PA for £11 - Totally, totally worth every penny IMO. Good replay value too. I wrote some impressions in the NTSC First Play folder, you should check it out.

John0 - PA aren't doing the Phoenix Wright deal anymore but they do have the US one on their site for $30
