So what do the yellow bone outlines that appear after stroking your dog do? Or rather, since dog do has pongy connotations, what are they for?

I believe they're doggy treats, you can grab them with the stylus and drag them to their mouths to eay... the bones that is, not the dog do.

I'm having trouble teaching her to beg - any thoughts? I can't get her into the beg position in order to associate a voice command, she just begs by accident occasionally

I think you need to ge them to sit (at they stand brush down on their head), and then brush from the belly upward to get them to beg.

Anyone know what the time counter is in reference too in the dogs stats?

I've had Mug now for around three weeks, on everyday, and recently on all day everyday thanks to me using the DS as a desk clock... the time says 2:25

Is that 2 hours 25 minutes?

I've played this for the best part of 100+ hours by now, so where does 2:25 come from?

that just makes her stand up again )

I've got it.

from a standing position, rub upward on its head. If you've done it right, the dog should lift both feet up momentarily. Keep doing it and the dog will eventually perform beg.

Some of the harder tricks take time for the dog to perform, but once they learn them, they can do it with ease.

I keep getting the same old items now when my dogs are out for a walk... it doing my nut in. I must have about 15 sticks now and god knows how many tennis balls.

If it weren't for the fact that I knew that there were really some special things to get I prolly wouldn't care as much, but still. I want, I want.

Special Item

Mario Kart vehicles

On a great note though, Mug just won the Disc Catching Championship.

I just realised the clock on my DS still thinks it's March. I don't want to change it though in case my dog dies! Does anyone know if  there any way I can fix it without upsetting my dog?

Maybe put them in the dog hotel? Aren't you supposed to be able to leave them in there as long as you like?

Ok a quick couple of questions from a brand new Nintendogs noob  (cant be arsed to trawl the thread, sorry :)

- Can I unlock the other breeds of dog without doing the link up thingy (Bark mode) ?

- How do I unlock funkier items like the Mario Hat? I've just 'found' specs from walking the dog a plenty, but are there any 'prize' accessories?

- yes, you get them from earning training points (walking, comps)

- Same as the normal way, walking, but they're much rarer.

Miyamoto's Dog that's been out this week in some Woolworths store somewhere (great details I know) gives people a special prize that isn't avaliable else where, so there prolly are more to get than just from walking and collecting.

Also, if you leave the game running in the house, and your dogs happy, there's a chance that it will pop out and get a present by itself.

I've just bagged some great finds on my walk this morning.

Metiortie, Pirate Hat (YARR!), NewsBoy Hat and "Chow" record.

Still no Kart though.

One of the other dog owners on my walk said that his dog loves it when he plays the keyboard?!?! Even barks back the tune. Is this something you can get?

I've only just purchased my keyboard for 120 quid at the discount store - lots of fun.

On a sadder note my girlfriend's daughter's dog ran away on Sunday night and hasn't yet returned. She's distraught! Obviously not walking it enough and too many baths... is it gonna come back ever?

WHAT!?! Is this the store that you have to walk to? I only thought you could sell stuff there!

Thats bad, just think, he'll be roaming the streets, covered in fleas, eating scraps from bin bags.

When you're out walking and you meet other dogs, is there any benefit in letting the dogs interact with each other? When I was walking the dog, I'd always encourage teh dogs to interact, to no noticeable effect. Now my daughter does the walking, she clicks past those screens as quickly as possible. I notice that most of the dogs are still "curious" about each other. Is there any way to get them to be the best of doggy friends?

Stick it in the hotel if you're going to do that.

You can't put all you're dogs in the hotel, you have to leave at least one out. I just found this out as I tried to do it to fix my DS clock like Graham_" suggested, but I couldn't. Looks like my clock is going to be wrong for a while. My birthday is in December too, it's going to take ages to reach it now :P

You can't sell anything at the discount store (the one you walk to). You buy pretty much the same stuff you can get in the normal shop from the menu, but cheaper. The only place you can sell stuff is the second hand shop in the menu.

I think they need to meet a dog a few times before they decide if they like them or not. I also find it helps to pull my dog close to the other dog to try and force him to interact. If I know he doesn't like a particular dog, I just leave. I guess the benefit is that it makes your dog happier (it tells you that after playing with it, then again after you finish the walk) which I assume makes him like you better and more likely to obey commands.

I think it helps if your dog has pissed around the area.I may be wrong byt there must be some reason for why their 'territories' start flashing when you're near another dog.

buy a new dog... stick your others in the hotel, speed up time to present. get rid of the mangy dog.

It's a terrible thing to do, but it would work.
