Are the Rocket Arena people working on RA for Quake 4?! I absolutley LOVED RA for Quake 3. 'm already excited about Q4's Q3 style DM'ing but a RA mod would make me very happy indeed...

I wouldn't even consider Q4 on the Xbox, it's a game style utterly suited to mouse control and I just couldn't imagine pulling off a snap mid-air railgun shot using a joypad....

Because it looks ropey enough to draw criticism. The image of the product is damaged somewhat. That fact they are now explaining (apologising) for it shows they know they made a mistake.

I reckon they will sort it out but they must have been taken surprise by some of the negative responses.

They didn't, it was an old video from TGS, taken before the shitty Gametrailers vid went online. It was not much of a statement either, just part of the press presention. They were confident enought to show it but stated it was far from finished. Which isn't that strange, considering it's a 2006 game.

Really, I've been on a lot of places on the internet but as Davros put it a few weeks ago the negativity you'll find at this place sometimes (too many times if you ask me) is hard to find somewhere else. It hasn't always been this way.

Because most gamers and games journalists (and even some publishers) don't have much foresight when it comes to games still in development. An example would be the pointlessness of commenting on low framerates as a major concern when writing about a game that still has years of development time remaining. It's pointless. Far better off keeping it under wraps until it is more presentable.

Oh, come on, Vems.

I'm one of the most positive people on here, yet I was the one who posted the dodgy gameplay vid saying it looked woeful and SoE like. Which it did. I want the game to be ace. It's just from that gameplay vid, it looked awful. If I had of been there, playing it, and that was what I played, I would have said the same. I'm surprised that some people have played it and said it was good. From the gameplay vid, I fail to see how it could be. Even Capcom have said that it's nowhere near finished etc etc, and open admission that it was a pretty shitty version to show.

I still have high hopes for the game, though.
