  1. I don't think we've had a thread on this old game. I remember loving this back in the day despite it being something David Crane cobbled together in six weeks from his Car Wars prototype. Came across a video tonight that talks about how the account generator worked in such a way to create a "save" system with no onboard saving.
  2. SO according to Indie Retro News someone is taking on the massive project of porting Eye of the Beholder to the C64. So you're probably thinking it will be some sort of Bard's Tale hack yes? Wrong. http://www.indieretronews.com/2018/05/eye-of-beholder-dungeon-crawling.html How good does that look? More (including a video) at the link.
  3. From http://www.indieretronews.com/2018/10/maze-death-rally-x-maze-death-race-1983.html#more Comes news of a port of a port. Let's face it. It's Rally X! Still in it's early stages but it looks great.
  4. News from the always excellent http://www.indieretronews.com/2018/10/popeye-arcade-2018-gabriele-amores.html#more But now with the end of the year fast approaching there's another game that's been announced, but this time it's the turn of the ZX Spectrum with Gabriele Amore's arcade conversion of ' Popeye Arcade 2018 '; a new game which is hoping to win a prize during the ZX-DEV MIA Remakes competition. It's in with a chance, cast your eyes on this lovely port! I'm a big fan of the game having played it on the C64, 2600 and Amiga. Can't wait to try this.
  5. I was always frustrated moving from the Atari 2600 that there wasn't a decent Joust port or clone on the 8 bits. However thanks to the eagle-eyed Indie Retro news I'm now aware of this. http://www.indieretronews.com/2018/01/roust-allan-turvey-announces-arcade-to.html#undefined.gbpl I mean just look at it!
  6. According to http://www.indieretronews.com/2017/11/donkey-kong-3-is-this-arcade-classic.html#more there's a comp on Speccy ports. Have a look at this lovely test, that Donkey Kong sprite looks excellent!! See also http://zx-dev-conversions.proboards.com/thread/27/dk3
  7. Grabbed from here. https://www.worldofspectrum.org/forums/discussion/54454/dead-space-tap-version#latest
  8. Have a look that this neat bit of homebrew discovered by the Indie Retro news crew http://www.indieretronews.com/2016/12/pietro-bros-stunning-zx-spectrum.html Time for me to shell out for Speculator.
  9. Hi Guys, Just thought you might like to know I've uploaded a couple more of my old RG articles to my website. Making of the original Warcraft: http://www.wizwords.net/warcraft/ And Spectrum run n gun classic Rex: http://www.wizwords.net/the-making-of-rex-1/ Thanks for reading Cheers JD
  10. Hi all. I've deliberately put this in the Retro folder as I'm not sure it would be spotted in the Trading folder by you guys. If that's not okay then please tell me and I'll move it faster than a speccy loads a game from tape! So, I'm thinking of putting my prized rubber-keyed, composite modded Spectrum 48k on ebay. It's in really good condition for it's age and comes with the box, the styrofoam inserts, the original PSU, the original tape cables and the original RF cable (no longer needed as it runs via composite and therefore optionally via SCART instead). It also comes with a divIDE device
