    The Sims 4

By Maxis Official Site Release Date: September 4th 2014 ABOUT IMAGES VIDEOS Went ahead and got my girlfriend the limited edition, custom Steelseries mouse and Qck mousepad. Now here's hoping the thing will actually run properly on her laptop as we did a "Can You Run It?" system requirement check and it didn't meet the minimum specs required. I swear, when I explained to her what all of that meant and how she might have trouble running the game, the utter disappointment and misery across her face was priceless. Later I told her that the only component of her laptop which doesn't meet the requirements is the processor and that the game will probably run just fine. Probably. I do have to admit kind of looking forward to checking this out myself. Had a ton of fun with Sims 1 (must've been 1997 or something), mostly with the building of stuff and constantly redecorating the house. Except for the mancave where all of the electronic gadgets were (including an Oculus Rift even!). That room was perfect from the start. I also recall setting Sims on fire. Good times indeed. Oh I dread to think how the weekends will be when she's too busy with her Sims and therefore not coming over. I'll have to play Titanfall and watch Football or something instead. Damn.

Debut trailer: Tutorial (in Japanese): >> Official website The game in itself looks nothing out of the ordinary, but it's been developed by Vitei (the guys who did the Steel Diver games) so it might prove a neat little download title.

    Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

So the latest addition to the immensily popular Animal Crossing franchise is this; Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. An upcoming community simulation videogame developed and published by Nintendo, and due Q3 2015 for the Nintendo 3DS. The game is a spin-off of the Animal Crossing series where the player has to design homes for the various anthropomorphic animal characters. Central to the game's concept is the ability to completely design the villagers' homes. The game was also confirmed to be the first to support amiibo in card format, to be released along the game. The Amiibo Cards are obviously more portable for on-the-go play, and the new Nintendo 3DS comes with built-in Amiibo functionality. Other forms of 3DS (i.e. the original 3DS, 3DS XL, and 2DS) will require a separate NFC reader/writer accessory that will launch the same time as Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. And with over 300 characters, that's going to be a lots of cards... Footage from the latest Nintendo Direct: Official Japanese site: >> http://www.nintendo....edhj/index.html Character trailers: Pity the completionist who wants to catch'em all.

    Tomodachi Life

Not content with only having only one second-life experience in Animal Crossing: New Leaf? Then have another one in Tomodachi Life. Welcome to “Tomodachi Life” ("Tomodachi Collection" in Japan) for Nintendo 3DS — a living world in your pocket, made of people you know! Take all your preconceived notions about life’s possibilities, crumple them into a ball and toss them out the window. It’s time to star in a whole new life. On June 9, visit the outrageously bizarre island world of Tomodachi Life for the Nintendo 3DS system. Everyone you know, and everyone you wish you knew, should prepare to meet their Mii maker – you! – as you build a bustling fantasy population of friends, family and even celebrities, all in one wild and hilarious world. The real emotional connection you already share with your Mii characters will keep you glued to the drama, intrigue and hilarity that ensues as everyone goes about their extraordinary daily lives, evolving and interacting in unpredictable and often uproarious ways. The Tomodachi franchise already has taken Japan by storm, selling more than 5.5 million games. Its first European title, Tomodachi Life, is poised to stake out unprecedented video game territory when it launches June 9. Nintendo fans are familiar with Mii characters, but now they come to life in ways they never have before – with their own lives, interests and personalities. Customization and open-ended play are two big video game trends for 2014, and Tomodachi Life delivers a fun, creative experience that makes you want to visit again and again, because there’s always something interesting going on. “Tomodachi” is the Japanese word for “friend.” After completely customizing all your Mii characters, from their voices and appearances right down to their personality quirks, you’ll recognize them instantly. But you can’t possibly predict what they’ll do next. For the first time ever, Mii characters behave based on the personality traits you select, playing out the drama you set in motion. A celebrity might fall in love with your math teacher. Your mom might jump on stage to belt out heavy metal songs. Or you could become famous striking poses down the runway of a fashion show wearing cute and silly outfits. Best of all, you can document these unbelievable moments for posterity and share them all with your friends via the Nintendo 3DS Image Share service.Even your far-fetched celebrity dreams can come true in Tomodachi Life. If you have ever wanted international superstar Christina Aguilera to join you in a sing-off, or believed that she would become BFFs with your cousin or wished she would perform a song with your customized lyrics, it could happen here. The multi award-winning singer has signed on to be a part of Nintendo’s promotional campaign for the game, and her Mii character will be available at launch. Aguilera’s Mii character also will guest star in a TV commercial and in online videos that show all the exciting things that happen when celebrities mingle with Miis players know personally. Additional celebrities involved with Tomodachi Life will be announced over the upcoming weeks. The plot of Tomodachi Life thickens with the addition of each Mii character. As they deliver one gripping twist and turn after another, you can reward them with in-game gifts and clothes, their favorite foods or special flourishes for their apartments. Together you can further broaden your Tomodachi Life horizons by exploring the island, solving characters’ problems and helping them with their needs. Japanese overview trailer: Official Japanese website:http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/ec6j/index.html Official European website:http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-3DS/Tomodachi-Life-871968.html Still, the Tomodachi Collection series is one of the best selling Nintendo games over in Japan, and I will definitely have a go at a more antropocentric version of my beloved Animal Crossing series. Hopefully before long

    Fantasy Life

Since "Level-5 Vision 2011" took place some time ago, we received some more info about this one... Not much is known thus far, except that it's a role playing game from Level-5 and Mother 3 developer Brownie Brown. As far as plot details are concerned, Fantasy Life revolves around the idea of a panicking world following a shadow that's come over the moon. Instead of rushing out to save the planet, however, you go about your everyday life. The theme of this Nintendo 3DS game is living life your own way by ways of an RPG. According to Famitsu, Level-5 has at least 20 jobs for players to choose from. Pilot, carpenter, miner, chef, magician, lumberjack, scholar, merchant, fortune teller, blacksmith, soldier, hunter, postman, royal guard, alchemist, farmer, treasure hunter, tailor, fisherman, and street entertainer are all possible occupations in the world of Fantasy Life. Animal Crossing with an RPG twist? Teaser trailer: Pictures:

    Tropico 5 - Hola, Presidente!

As requested by a few people in the Steam thread, a thread of its own for this excellent latest instalment in the Tropico series. Here's what I posted there: The game is excellent. Since posting that I've played a good bit more of it and can attest to the high quality of the campaign, which is pretty surprising really! It's very clever and frequently very funny and satisfying - it has actual plot twists and everything, and combines some excellent continuity between missions with allowing you to more or less start over once you've figured out most of how the game works. I know there are quite a few management-game fans on here - and rightly so. I highly recommend Tropico 5; it's accessible and not too difficult but can provide a good challenge. It's probably the management/citybuilder game that I find most compelling and the one in which the growth of your settlement seems most natural. I'll probably do a bit of a let's play in this thread later just to show how an island can evolve through the eras and go from a tiny no-horse village to a thriving modern metropolis.
