GTTV will debut the new game on GTTV, which airs on Thursday in the US. So what will it be? Signs point to a game Shinji 'Resi 4/God Hand' Mikami has in development for quite some time now at Platinum Games. It might very well be called 'The Ritualist', a name that was trademarked by Sega some time ago. Should be interesting, as Mikami and Kamija were responsible for most of the Capcom classics last gen. Just a few days left.
  3. NOTE: Please see the below thread for dedicated discussion of Persona 5 Scramble; hopefully my thread can be the home of vanilla and Royal chat! UPDATED OP: This is now an OP about Persona 5 Royal. Like P4 Golden and P3 FES, this new game is intended to be a sort of "deluxe" update to 2017's Persona 5, with new events, a new "Phantom Thief" character named Kasumi, a customisable personal palace (named "My Palace") and other bits and pieces. Previously we found out that it would be released in the west around "Spring 2020", but on December 3rd 2019 we found out that the game would be released on March 31st 2020. Additionally, there will be the opportunity to place a digital pre-order and get an original P5R theme. P5R owners will also get original P5 DLC for free, and there are a few different editions of the game to look out for - the Phantom Thieves Edition (includes a Joker mask with stand, art book, physical disc and steelbook, soundtrack, dynamic PS4 theme), the Launch Edition (physical disc, steelbook, dynamic PS4 theme code), the Ultimate Edition (digital download, DLC bundles, bonus costume packs), and the Deluxe Edition (digital download, Kasumi costume pack.) Those DLC bundles will be available as separate purchases too; there's a Kasumi costume pack, a "battle bundle", a "persona bundle", and a "DLC bundle". I had mixed feelings about the original version of Persona 5 - in terms of content and presentation it was one of the most polished games in the series so far, but the more ambitious sequences that formed large portions of gameplay in the palaces sometimes threatened to get in the way of the simple but satisfying dungeon-crawling. So I'm kind of hoping that Royal comes with dungeon design that's perhaps a little bit tighter... but even if P5 wasn't my favourite game in the series, it's still a pretty good RPG in its own right and I look forward to having another excuse to revisit the world of the Phantom Thieves... http://www.atlus.com/persona5/ If you're wondering what a Persona is, I've provided a little primer below:
  4. About time too. Let's just hope they don't change the dynamic too much but just add loads more baddies. Switchable weapon parts may be good too as opposed to just BAZILLIONS of weapons.

Major autosave bug: Details on GAF, which they're updating as they try so suss it out: Waiting for gaffers to confirm if it works. Update: some people recovered some progress with this but it's not a fix. In some cases it didn't help at all.Keighley tweets about a 'megaton PS3 exclusive'. Then he tweets this as a clue: There's also a video of an ant if you go to the page www.lastofus.com It's probably not Half Life 3.

  9. Formerly known as True Crime: Hong Kong, before being axed by Activision, now due to be released by Square-Enix and the original developer, United Front Games of Canada. S-E seem to be putting the big money on this one, some lucky members of the press got bribed with free trips to Hong Kong recently

  13. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/43990.html?type=flv An interesting trailer, appeared in my RSS last night... Starts off looking a bit gash (aside from lovely pre-renderedness) but slowly looked more cool as the trailer went on.. I'm kinda interested Does anyone know anything about it, or looking forward to it? ________________ Update : PS4 rumours: http://www.vg247.com/2014/01/21/demons-souls-exclusive-ps4-spin-off-teased-by-industry-tipster-rumour/ Update 2: eventually became Bloodborne

This is currently 88 on Metacritic and Eurogamer have given it 10/10. It's also highly replayable so I think it warrants its own thread. It's based on the indie PC game and is essentially a rough cross between Indiana Jones, Mario and a Roguelike. It's out today and I can't wait to play it. I'm thinking of getting a fightpad or one of the new silver pads with the improved D-pad. Can anyone say which is the better option? I'm expecting glowing impressions throughout the day so I can get more excited while I wait for my mum to pick me up. Don't let me down lads.

  16. I can't see a proper thread for this, which is criminal because it's ace. If there is a thread, I apologise. Go go thread-merge rangers. What is it? Guacamelee is a 2D Metroidvania by Drinkbox, who previously made "Tales From Space: About A Blob" and "Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack!". But what is it? It's a game where you run around a "Day of the dead" (think Grim Fandango) themed world as a brawny luchador wearing a mystical luchador mask, smashing the shit out of skeletons, engaging in platforming sections and chuckling at millions of videogame references dotted around the levels, whilst ogling the lovely colourful artstyle. The game is quest driven, with areas locked off by ability gates as you'd expect. You can level up your stats by collecting money from enemies, and you gain new abilities by visiting a goat-man... thing. It has cool music. What does it look like? Kind of like this: Uhh, is there a trailer or anything? I don't pay all this money for broadband just to look at stills. Yes, there is a trailer: Alright, what's wrong with it? Well, I'm only about 90 minutes in, but I can see the internet memes which keep popping up annoying some people. But they're normally pretty funny and "in-world", here's an example. What's this about videogame references? Guacamelee is stuffed with them. Spotting them all is a game in itself. Here are a couple of examples. Yeah, alright mate, does it play well? Yes. The gameplay is tight, fun and solid. Both the platforming and the brawling are polished and well designed. How much is it? If you have PS Plus, it's currently £7.99. Otherwise it's £9.99. How big is it? The Vita download is under 400mb. Not sure about the PS4 (edit: PS3 I mean, lol), but should be the same, it appears to be the same package you download for both. How does crossplay work? You get the PS3 and PSV version, whichever you initially buy. You can transfer your savegame between both at the touch of a button. Is there multiplayer? There's local co-op. It works a bit like NSMB. One person can play on the PS3 and the other on the PSV, if you want. What were the scores like? 17. We might hear more about this later today, but definitely at the Ubisoft conference. In the meantime here's some screenshots.
  18. Link Platinum Games, the studio founded by former Capcom developer Clover, has apparently struck a deal with SEGA to publish three games. Those games are: • Bayonetta, directed by DMC creator Hideki Kamiya, and is described by the site’s correspondent as a “stylish action game” with “a witch battling angels”. Apparently she has guns on her feet. • A science-fiction RPG for the DS called Infinite Line, where you play as a starship captain, customising your ship and crew. • A Wii game called MadWorld. ...it’s, “Black and white Sin City graphics, with red blood. Ultra ultra violent. Fatality moves like shoving a post through someone’s head. Chainsaw on your right arm.” Was a rumour but this trailer for MadWorld here: Here Edit: Trailer for Bayonette: here Looks official, is this a seprate company to 'Seeds' then, founded by other members? or Platinum Games what Seed grew into?

  20. Reckon it's about time this baby had a thread of its own although we won't be seeing it until 2012, deep into that year I suspect given the obvious overlapping of interest with Skyrim. It's being developed by a new studio, 38 Studios, employing the talents of RA Salvatore (Drizzt!), Todd McFarlane and Ken Rolston (Elder Scrolls), and it seems to be an ambitious undertaking but of course competing with some tough opposition. Have no idea at this point in time how deep the lore will be or how extensive / rewarding the open world exploration. Publisher is EA. Gameplay wise it seems to be described as an "Action RPG" but hopfully will have genuine RPG elements. Some hands-on impressions are leaking out from E3 so here are some links to get us started: Official site Hands-on impression from Gamesradar Game preview including video
  21. https://blog.2k.com/index.php/home/single/announcing-borderlands-the-pre-sequel The wait is finally over for a new game in the Borderlands universe! We're launching you to Pandora's moon for the first time inBorderlands: The Pre-Sequel, currently being co-developed by Gearbox Software and 2K Australia, and available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC later this fall. Set between Borderlands and Borderlands 2, you'll play as four new characters classes fighting alongside Handsome Jack, witnessing his transformation into the ruthless tyrant you loved to hate in Borderlands 2, and assisting with the rise of the Hyperion Corporation. The signature shoot 'n' loot gameplay of the Borderlands series expands with the addition of low-gravity and oxygen-powered jetpack combat, the icy 'Cryo' elemental damage type, the deadly laser weapon class, and new vehicles to help you explore the lunar landscape. Who will those four new playable character classes be, you ask? Well, they are all familiar faces from the Borderlands universe: - Athena, the Gladiator: Uses her Kinetic Aspis, which is a shield that can absorb incoming damage, then convert it back into energy to use against enemies. Athena made her debut in The Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC for the first Borderlands game. - Wilhelm, the Enforcer: Wilhelm was previously seen in Borderlands 2 as one of the first deadly bosses in the game. - Nisha, the Lawbringer: The sheriff of Lynchwood from Borderlands 2, Nisha will be dealing out her own brand of justice, which we'll discuss further in the coming months. - Claptrap, the Fragtrap: Wait - Claptrap? The goofy robot companion from Borderlands 2, now playable for the first time? Fragtrap is his character class? Well, you can play him too! In the upcoming months, we'll introduce you to more moon environments, new enemies, vehicles, and…well, we have to save some surprises. For now, feast your eyes on the first images from Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, featuring low-gravity combat, cool new guns, and more gorgeous lunar vistas than you can shake a moon-boot at. Then be sure to watch the developer overview video below to get your first glimpse of the game in action. Eurogamer Preview: PC Gamer Preview:

From Eurogamer: Resized pics below (full fat ones at the link above): Looks pretty nice. Mirror's Edge was amazing and Dead Island was lovably shonky so I'll be following this one with interest.
