  3. SO according to Indie Retro News someone is taking on the massive project of porting Eye of the Beholder to the C64. So you're probably thinking it will be some sort of Bard's Tale hack yes? Wrong. http://www.indieretronews.com/2018/05/eye-of-beholder-dungeon-crawling.html How good does that look? More (including a video) at the link.
  4. From the always excellent Retro Game News http://www.indieretronews.com/2019/11/sonicgx-sonic-hedgehog-running-smoothly.html
  5. Exciting news for those of us who enjoyed the recent Chopper Command port. http://www.indieretronews.com/2019/09/keystone-kapers-another-atari-to-c64.html#more
  6. What I love about this port is the detail, down to the credits screen which is the same as the credits screen used in other Activision C64 ports. And they managed to get that amazing Activision sunset in, something that's harder to do on the C64 than the 2600. More info here http://www.indieretronews.com/2019/08/chopper-command-c64-final-version-will.html#more Unfamiliar with the game? It's a basic version of Defender where you need to take out planes and choppers before they hit your convoy. Bonus points are awarded depending on the jeeps remaining at the end of each round and that's it!
  7. From http://www.indieretronews.com/2018/10/maze-death-rally-x-maze-death-race-1983.html#more Comes news of a port of a port. Let's face it. It's Rally X! Still in it's early stages but it looks great.
  8. News from the always excellent http://www.indieretronews.com/2018/10/popeye-arcade-2018-gabriele-amores.html#more But now with the end of the year fast approaching there's another game that's been announced, but this time it's the turn of the ZX Spectrum with Gabriele Amore's arcade conversion of ' Popeye Arcade 2018 '; a new game which is hoping to win a prize during the ZX-DEV MIA Remakes competition. It's in with a chance, cast your eyes on this lovely port! I'm a big fan of the game having played it on the C64, 2600 and Amiga. Can't wait to try this.
  9. Another one bought to my attenion by the wonderful Indie Retro News. http://www.indieretronews.com/2018/06/bub-and-bob-return-home-to-c64-puzzle.html#more Just have a look

  11. I was always frustrated moving from the Atari 2600 that there wasn't a decent Joust port or clone on the 8 bits. However thanks to the eagle-eyed Indie Retro news I'm now aware of this. http://www.indieretronews.com/2018/01/roust-allan-turvey-announces-arcade-to.html#undefined.gbpl I mean just look at it!
  12. Andy Noble has just made a neat port of Cookie. How accurate is it? I was crap at the Speccy version, crap at the Amiga port and I'm crap at this one too. Details here http://www.indieretronews.com/2017/11/cookie-veritable-kitchen-nightmare.html
  13. After many long years it's finally finished. The C64 port of Terry Cavanagh's VVVVVV! http://www.indieretronews.com/2017/04/vvvvvv-incredible-news-as-modern-indie.html#more
  14. According to http://www.indieretronews.com/2017/04/abu-simbel-profanation-classic-zx.html#more bastard hard Speccy game Profanation has now been ported to C64. Now you can be like me and get excited before dying over and over and over on the first screen.
