  1. I'm going to try something in this thread: Every week I'm going to talk about a single eshop game a bit and see if it starts any conversatiins and maybe even sell you on the game in particular. I'm not going to go for the obvious (Hollow Knight/Into The Breach), but it'll probably be something you've heard of. First up: Voez http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-Switch-download-software/VOEZ-1201380.html Price: £18.99 Metacritic: 81% https://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/voez I've spoke about Voez a little bit in here before, b
  2. Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark Price: £19.99 (ish - varies on which store) Genre: SRPG Metacritic: 86% This has quite possibly the worst title for a game, ever. Seriously - it's awful. But as far as turned based SRPG's go, it's really good. It's Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, basically. But as Square show little interest in bringing that back, this will have to do. The story is generic as they come (An Immortal Council choose you as an agent to bring peace to the land...), but it plays a really decent turned based game. Combat is pretty straightforward, but t
  3. The above trailer is pretty... Surprised there hasn't been any interest in this title on here, given the popularity of the Zero Escape series. Written and directed by Kotaro Uchikoshi, it's basically the Jennifer Lopez film 'The Cell', in game form. You play a detective who solves crimes by entering the dreams of others. And like that film, it's pretty grisly. Outside of the trailer, I've been pretty much on blackout for this. It looks right up my street and I'll be day one on its release on July 26th.
  4. Bought this on a whim after seeing a video for it on the Switch news channel - I’m playing it on Switch. I don’t know what’s going on but holy shit does it look good. Few frame drops here and there but pretty pin sharp in handheld otherwise. It’s an arena fighter, a bit like Power Stone or Kill La Kill If (the latter I also had on switch but this is a lot better and has bags more content). In style terms and with the bonkers Japanese voices it’s like an arena version of Dragonball Fighterz. I don’t have any experience with the Manga/Anime it’s based on - My Hero Acadami
  5. "I can't believe it's not Picross!" Jupiter, of Picross and Picross 2 and Mario's Picross and Mario's Super Picross and Picross DS and Picross e and Picross e2 and Picross e3 and Picross e4 and Picross e5 and Picross e6 and Picross e7 and Picross e8 and Picross e9 and Picross S and Picross S2 and Picross S3 and Zelda Picross and Sanrio Picross and Pokemon Picross and various other Picrosseseses fame, are making a game that isn't picross. https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/picross-studio-reveals-new-switch-multiplayer-game/
  6. Probably the only interesting thing from Nintendo's 2018 E3 presentation: EDIT: Sorry, the new batch of Splatoon 2 amiibo looks pretty cool too... Daemon X Machina was announced for Nintendo Switch during this year's E3 and features mecha design by Shoji Kawamori (Macross). The title is a mecha game with a clear Armored Core vibe, featuring design by Shoji Kawamori who -besides his work for the Macross series- also worked on the Armored Core series. We also get Armored Core producer Kenichiro Tsukuda, No More Heroes character designe
  7. The basics of The Snack World TreJarers are to find rare items slumbering deep inside dungeons. The main game cycle is going back and forth between the base and dungeons to proceed through the game. You prepare equipment and items at the base before going to a dungeon. Then at the dungeon, you’ll try to find rare items slumbering deep within. Featured in The Snack World are random dungeons where the layout changes each time the player enters. The type of dungeons vary, including a rocky area, forest, and temple. Scary bosses lie deep inside the dungeons such as the Kraken. Ot
  8. Are you an Eighties throwback like me? Well listen up you might like this... It's currently up on Kickstarter and will aim to release on all Consoles (yes Switch too) and PC in 2019. There's lots of digital tiers with many extras. It's not very expensive to support. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1103388577/198x/ Looks promising or will it be a cynical nostalgia cash-in jack of all trades and master of none?
  9. Anyone remember this? https://3drealms.com/catalog/kingpin-reloaded_171/
  10. If you missed it on PS4/Vita this overlooked gem is coming to Switch on May 3rd. https://nintendoeverything.com/dont-die-mr-robot-dx-reaching-switch-on-may-3/ You control Mr Robot. You dodge the bad guys and kill them by eating fruit. Chain fruit explosions together to make combos. Impress the computer lady! Don't Die! Also features Eggsy from Goldie Looking Chain

I kinda want, but needs the typical Alienware design softened up a bit. It's also hilarious how much of a complete Switch rip off it is.
  12. First released on PS2 in 2001, Onimusha: Warlords arrives on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam on January 15, 2019 with a high-definition visual upgrade.
  13. This is a Pinball/Hack and Slash which is pretty unique and It just looks awesome! (And that sound design!). Steam - https://store.steampowered.com/app/852300/Creature_in_the_Well/ Xbox - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/creature-in-the-well/9p3swzzj1m4b?activetab=pivot%3Aoverviewtab Switch - https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/creature-in-the-well-switch/ PS4 release is "probably 2020" according to the devs. Trailer: Dev Breakdown:
  14. Really fancy this. Would be keen to know anyone's experiences with it.
  15. By Sega Bayonetta 1 £24.99 | Bayonetta 2 £39.99 Release Date: February 16th, 2018 ABOUT Figured I might as well make a new thread (blatantly stealing that title in the process) for those of us who've never played the sequel on Wii U. Personally I couldn't be more excited now that I finally get to play the follow-up to one of my all time favourite games! The wait has certainly been long but also more than worth it considering these appear to be the best console versions out there and that the third title is rumoured t
  16. Since this is out tomorrow and there'll no doubt be people playing for the first time (And indeed like myself again) it'd be nice to have a fresh clean thread. So keep the spoilers marked and for gods sake don't play the unicorn part if you're on the bus. Myself this will be the fourth platform I own the game on. I have it on PS4, Xbox (Still shrinkwrapped) and twice on the PC for some bizarre reason. Once on Gog and once on Steam. Maybe this time I'll finish it! I'll be playing exclusively in handheld. Because despite owning a PC that can run it in 4k I hav
  17. Beamdog are partnering with Skybound games to bring all the classic Infinity Engine RPGs over in their EE versions, plus Neverwinter Nights. No further details as of yet. I was wondering what Beamdog were up to after Phil Daigle left - Trent has been busy forging weapons in his garage in his spare time, but this is tremendous news. Games are Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition The c
  18. I got my Steam key this morning! Who else is jumping in? http://www.causalbitgames.com/our-games/battle-princess-madelyn/
  19. This game came out recently across all platforms and is incredible. It mixes genres really well and is a: Metroidvania, Platforming game with pinball mechanics. The art style is lovely and the music is joyful. Despite being fairly short, it has fantastic pacing. Check out videos below then go ahead and buy it. It is already one of the games of the year in my opinion. Buy it Xbox Playstation PC Switch
  20. Zavvi doing preorders tomorrow, Game doing preorders in store only tomorrow, nothing on Gamestop, Grainger, Smyths, Toys R Us, Tesco yet. But Shopto? 21. Konami’s classic run-and-gun franchise Contra seems to be back. And no, it's not a pachinko machine. On Tuesday, Konami revealed Contra Rogue Corps, a new over-the-top entry in the series. Two years after the Alien Wars had ended, a mysterious area called the Damned City arose from the grounds where the final battles took place. Ruthless Fiends roamed the area, bringing a world full of madness. In the midst of chaos, 5 scoundrels emerge...they are the Rogue Corps. They do not look anything like heroes of justice, but have they come to save humanity, or maybe they are lookin
  22. "Stupendously eternal but hitherto unasked questions." Similar to my Super Mario Kart poll, except there hasn't always been an obvious 'best choice' for me. I used to use Fire Stingray, cos he was the fastest (and probably the coolest looking), but his slow acceleration means you have to be pretty good to maintain top speed. These days I go for likeable hero and general all-rounder: the Blue Falcon.
  23. Just curious really. As kids, Koopa was always top pick for Battle Mode or GP, and you’d settle for Toad as a close second. I don’t remember using anybody else except in Time Trial mode, when the extra speed of Bowser or DK got you better times.
  24. (credit to @geldra for the "x meets y" in the thread title.) Now that Sekiro's out, this is the next most exciting release of 2019 for me*. I think it was first teased way back in 2015, but now it looks like it's closing in on a release date. From the Steam page: Put simply, everything seen in the trailers looks amazing. Atmospheric pixel-art, lightning-fast attacks, slick movement, neo-noir stylings, moody music... The only concern surrounding the game (for me, at least) is that in the past the release date has been all over the place - so I don't know i

What is Automachef? Automachef is an indie puzzle game in which you will have to build automatic kitchens for a robotic fast food tycoon who believes he's a human. You have to set up a series of automated machines that will run a fast food joint and serve the orders that come in. It is part puzzle solving, part resource management and it is ruddy sublime. Think Human Resource Machine, mixed with Big Pharma and you are there. Having a blast with it so far and you get some real 'eureka' moments as you progress. Less than £10 on both
