    FOOTSIES

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1344740/FOOTSIES_Rollback_Edition/ No I didn't check to see if this was mentioned elsewhere. Due for release on 1st October. This is a long-available free local multiplayer PC game, which is getting rollback netcode for online multiplayer as a Steam release. Come see me in FOOTSIES, or just post your footsies memes below. First to post a Mike Ross gif gets read and appropriately whiff-punished. Unless I do it first because I'm the best.
  2. So, this is a weird one. A Suda style - 80's neon style murder mystery on an island populated by alien Gods who are trying to destroy the world in order to rebuild it from scratch. But before they can do that, you must investigate the inhabitants to find out who - amongst an...eclectic bunch, is a murderer and place them on trial with the evidence you've collected. ...Still with me? Just watch the trailer. I've put about 4-5 hours into this since yesterday and it's pretty special. You play a character called Lady Love Dies, an investigator who has bee
  3. Thought this maybe warranted its own thread since discussion on it is currently split between the Gamepass, Switch and eShop threads. I love the art style, animation and premise, but kind of switched off when they showed the management side of things, which I always believed wasn’t my thing, but then I remembered how much I grew to love the various management sub games in the Yakuza series, and how much I’ve been enjoying the base management in between missions in MGS: Peace Walker which I’m currently playing. I feel like I’ve been living a lie telling myself I don
  4. https://balanwonderworld.square-enix-games.com/en-gb/main/ This video includes their introduction with English subtitles, as well as the trailer: Edit: Here's the longer version, from the official site And the trailer alone: Looks like a very traditional platformer, with character design that fortunately looks a lot more NiGHTS than Blinx. In particular, those bosses look extremely NiGHTS-y - not just their character designs, but also their attacks (spike balls and flames) remind
  5. Can't decide whether to get the PS4 or Switch version! Also is there a tutorial video that is worth watching? Never really figured out how to play it properly! Thanks!
  6. It's a game about floating around derelict spaceships, breaking them apart to salvage valuable parts. To do it safely, you have to solve problems like finding ways to turn off propellant flow before cutting through pipes. You can slice chunks of metal apart a bit like in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and then tether the chunks to their designated recovery locations. And if you get things wrong, STUFF BLOWS UP and dry messages flash up like "Your next of kin will be billed for unreturned equipment." It's on Steam early access: https://hardspace-shipbreaker.com/ ht
  7. From nowhere the latest classic to get the old school revival project rework is Sega's 1986 Master System game Alex Kidd in Miracle World. A video was revealed in today's IGN Summer Expo debut stream and it's being published by Merge games who handled the euro release of Streets of Rage 4. I'll update as more info is released.
  8. This was on my radar as the soundtrack is done by a guy who's music I pretty much buy instantly and published by a record label that deals in various types of heavy metal. I know. It's just come out and I'm broke so I've not bought it but was surprised to find there's not thread. Steam only, currently.
  9. Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark Price: £19.99 (ish - varies on which store) Genre: SRPG Metacritic: 86% This has quite possibly the worst title for a game, ever. Seriously - it's awful. But as far as turned based SRPG's go, it's really good. It's Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, basically. But as Square show little interest in bringing that back, this will have to do. The story is generic as they come (An Immortal Council choose you as an agent to bring peace to the land...), but it plays a really decent turned based game. Combat is pretty straightforward, but t
  10. I'm surprised there's no topic for this yet but here we are, the remake of Seiken Densetsu 3, aka Secret of Mana 2 aka Trials of Mana is coming out in April and there's a demo available now, for Switch at the least. I've played it for a while and it seems like a very faithful remake of the original SNES game, if a little low-budget compared to something like Dragon Quest XI, keeping the colourful charm and lovely music of the old game and tarting it up for modern tech. The battle system has had a bit of an overhaul too, feeling much better than the clunky 16bit version, and it's worth keeping

  12. This has apparently been in early access for a while but goes 1.0 with a massive content update and character wipe tomorrow. Also a price increase https://store.steampowered.com/app/424370/Wolcen_Lords_of_Mayhem/ I just played a little bit of it and it seems solid, polished and fun. I'm looking forward to the launch tomorrow. Some footage I found of someone playing in co-op
  13. This launched a few days ago on Steam Early Access, although it seems pretty well developed already, barring some of the item descriptions and a truck customization system still to come, along with new territories. It already has voice acting and the soundtrack is complete. Big differences between this and Cook! Serve! Delicious! 2!!! is that in this one you are running a food truck - this means rather than having waves of rush hour followed by slow periods, instead you do a ton of prep in between stops, with a few advance orders on the road. They've also
  14. Coming November 15th for PS4, Xbox One and Steam.
  15. This is the game I dreamed of as a child whilst playing those old Flash pixel physics games; so I've been looking forward to this one for a while! Not to mention it's a Roguelike and has got some steller indie devs behind it (Baba is Me, Crayon Physics and The Swapper). Trailer: Gameplay: Coming to Early Access September 24th. https://store.steampowered.com/app/881100/Noita/
  16. This is a Pinball/Hack and Slash which is pretty unique and It just looks awesome! (And that sound design!). Steam - https://store.steampowered.com/app/852300/Creature_in_the_Well/ Xbox - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/creature-in-the-well/9p3swzzj1m4b?activetab=pivot%3Aoverviewtab Switch - https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/creature-in-the-well-switch/ PS4 release is "probably 2020" according to the devs. Trailer: Dev Breakdown:
  17. Well this is a bit interesting. Head Over Heels has just turned up on Steam. You can grab it here for a fiver https://store.steampowered.com/app/1134050/Head_Over_Heels/ I wonder if anyone told Tomaz Kac and Graham Goring about this? More here http://www.indieretronews.com/2019/08/head-over-heels-top-quality-remake-of.html
  18. Looks metal af, especially as the world is called Cvstodia, and using Vs as Us is fvcking cvlt . No doubt I'll buy it, play it for an hour before I realise I'm fucking awful at it and never play it again but shit, look at it.
  19. So I'm getting towards what I think is the end of Danganronpa v3 on my Vita, and I spotted this on PSN. Couldn't find another thread on it, and after playing the demo I think it deserves some attention. It has a very Danganronpa feel, but the mechanics are very different as it's more of a survival/dungeon crawler game. There's the usual ridiculous setup, you can see that in trailer below, but then it becomes more of an Etrian Osyssey affair with a lot of stuff to manage while you dungeon crawl, from base facilities, gear, upgrades, stress levels and even a bladder meter. The PS4 de
  20. Looking forward to this as a distraction to Tetris 99. http://puyo.sega.com/champions/
  21. (credit to @geldra for the "x meets y" in the thread title.) Now that Sekiro's out, this is the next most exciting release of 2019 for me*. I think it was first teased way back in 2015, but now it looks like it's closing in on a release date. From the Steam page: Put simply, everything seen in the trailers looks amazing. Atmospheric pixel-art, lightning-fast attacks, slick movement, neo-noir stylings, moody music... The only concern surrounding the game (for me, at least) is that in the past the release date has been all over the place - so I don't know i
  22. A new game from the team that brought you Shovel Knight. A quintessential Ninja action game in the style of Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden. https://yachtclubgames.com/cyber-shadow/ Pre-orders will be available soon on all formats: Steam, Switch, PS4, Xbox One

  24. https://store.steampowered.com/app/674520/FightN_Rage/ Can't remember where I saw this mentioned - possibly the Streets of Rage IV thread. Anyways, I thought it looked nice, so I added it to my wishlist. It is currently on sale (75% off until March 1st) and so I took the plunge on Friday night and I really enjoyed it. The graphics are good once you tweak the settings to your liking - personally I wasn't keen on the CRT filters and over saturated colours. The music is good and most importantly, so is the gameplay. It's nothing revolutionary, but the combo system and special meter wo
  25. Systems: Pretty much everything Price: £15.99 Genre: Turn Based Strategy Remember Advance Wars? Remember your childlike C.O pitting your army against opposing enemies to sunny backdrops and jaunty music? Remember how it was (and still is, in my opinion) the best turn based strategy game around? Now remember how we haven't had a new game in the series in over 10 years? Nintendo, why do you hurt me so? Now enter Wargroove. Not so much a homage to Advance Wars, but an almost blatant rip off. This isn't a bad thing, though. If Nintendo won't work with the I
