  1. Announced by Square Enix at TGS, directed by Toshifumi Nabeshima (ex-FromSoftware) who worked on Armored Core, produced by Shinji Hashimoto who was involved with some of the earlier Front Mission games and with character designs by Yoji Shinkawa of KojiPro, some other famous mecha designers are also involved. The teaser certainly features what look like Wanzers to me https://www.left-alive.com/en Some details from Famitsu: So it ain't a SRPG, but hopefully way better than the last game set in this universe
  2. I've seen this reported almost nowhere. Must be because of the Chinese origin, but some time ago Sony announced investing in a few new Chinese studios to create new PlayStation titles. And it seems the studios just had their public exams: RAN: Lost Islands A "weapon survival game" Evotinction A third-person "hack & stealth" game: sneak around hacking computers. ANNO Mutantionem Action-RPG with a kind-of 16-bit Octopath style to it. In Nightmare A funky horror adventure game. Convallaria An online PvP/PvE loot shooter. AI-LIMIT Another action-RPG that seems a bit NieR-ish? F.I.S.T. A dieselpunk Metroidvania, because why the hell not. Anyway, feast your eyes. Should bolster the PS4 catalogue a bit. Any favourites among them already?
  3. Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Steam - 24/10/2017 ABOUT: A powerful ancient evil has arisen, and the war to save humanity has begun! The Mummy Demastered throws you into a 16-bit-inspired battle against the undead in a 2D, nonlinear, action-packed adventure. As an elite agent in the monster-hunting Prodigium organization, you must use a variety of weapons, upgrades, and mysterious artifacts to defend mankind against the supernatural hordes of Princess Ahmanet. Your Prodigium unit is already on the scene, but HQ lost contact with them hours ago. Only by exploring tombs, forests, abandoned tunnels, and the cursed streets of London will you discover the fate of your allies. But beware – Ahmanet commands legions of undead, insects, plague-ridden vermin, and worse! If you’re not careful, you’ll be the next soul in her army. KEY FEATURES: • Stunning retro-inspired graphics and atmospheric chiptune soundtrack • Shoot-’em-up action meets exploration-based adventuring • Fight for survival against swarms of horrifying enemies and bosses • Obliterate monsters with an arsenal of weapons including grenades, a flamethrower and more • Uncover and collect 50 hidden relics Reviews Playstation Universe - 8.5/10 "A thunderous Metroidvania effort that sublimely marries the timeless design of yesteryear with some of the best decisions of modern game design, The Mummy Demastered is not only a great title but also one of the genuinely best surprises of the year." Nintendo Life - 9/10 "They say don't judge a book by its cover, and you shouldn't judge this game based on its movie tie-in; with The Mummy Demastered, WayForward may have reached its apex. It deserves to stand on its own as one of the best recent examples of not only a pixel art aesthetic, but as an excellent combination of run 'n gunning, platforming and exploration. The game benefits from paying homage to multiple 16-bit ancestors rather than strictly sticking to its celluloid source material; The Mummy Demastered is a polished, accomplished and satisfying adventure that will entertain more than just Metroidvania fans." Destructoid - 7.5/10 "This game doesn't do anything meaningfully new or original for metroidvania fans, but everything here is solid and WayForward got the fundamentals right... in a licensed Mummy adaptation, of all things." Metro - 7/10 "It’s more an unofficial Castlevania game than a movie tie-in, but if you can handle the high difficultly level this is an effective substitute for the real thing."

  9. I'm not a fan of Dark Souls but I do enjoy seeing what publishers think they can get away with when it comes to the ultra expensive collectors edition. https://store.bandainamcoent.eu/uk/product/526642/dark-souls-trilogy-collector-s-edition-ps4?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ds-trilogy-announcement-19012019 All yours for just £449.99. I know there are a lot of Dark Souls fans on this forum, any takers?

  12. Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy! More chicken combat... ...and Severed's grappling hook is now added to the ability repertoire. I can feel my second Platinum trophy coming up! (I assume that this is timed exclusive btw; they would be nuts to not launch this on Switch.)
  13. This got mentioned a few times in the PlayStation Network and Steam threads, but, by golly, it deserves its own thread. Just two hours in, and this Metroidvania has already sunk its fingernails well deep into my back. It's gorgeous, controls very well, and the second area is pretty much 2D Yharnam. (Actually, I'm kind of convinced it's deliberately meant to be nod towards Bloodborne.) Its RPG elements are very basic (you can equip passive and active buffs, and that's pretty much it, it seems) which is a relief, allowing you to focus on the platforming and the simple, yet satisfying Souls-like combat. It's an effing shame that I'm still not entirely through with Zelda and have another major release begging for my attention (and that's even beside the fact that it's a sin that this isn't getting a handheld release; this has Vita and even Switch written all over it) but, man, I can't wait to dive into this proper. Anyone else playing this?

  15. Look - another game set in a Japanese school! Mandatory dramatic trailer: Metacritic 80 Danganronpa is an adventure game set in Hope's Peak Academy, a school with a reputation so good that anyone who graduates from there is said to be set for life. The current year's new students are, as always, a big deal - fourteen of the most prestigious and talented youngsters from their fields, such as the Ultimate Baseball Star, Ultimate Programmer (...) and, er, Ultimate Fanfic Creator. And you - Makoto Naegi. You are the "Ultimate Lucky Student" who won the fifteenth spot at the school by virtue of winning a raffle for your place. Showing up for your first day you enter the school, but find that everything is not quite as it seems... You find yourself trapped in the school along with the other new students, and are informed that the only way out is to commit the perfect crime - murder a fellow student, and don't get found out. If you succeed, you're out. If you don't, things might get a little... grisly. Danganronpa's been described as a mix of the social segments of the recent Persona entries, investigations like Phoenix Wright and storytelling in the mould of Virtue's Last Reward, along with featuring an idiotic animal antagonist to boot. As such spoilers will probably ruin it for everyone so: USE SPOILER TAGS when discussing the story please! Also buy from Grainger Games for £27 (Price correct as of 21 March 2014).

  19. Long before the we wanted to go into battle on an island, the world was in big big trouble and only a few brave heroes could SAVE THE WORLD! Or something like that anyway. Fortnite was originally a PvE game and despite Battle Royale being the darling of the industry right now, this is still the meat of Epic's game... But what is it? Well I am too lazy to write stuff so this is from Wikipedia: Whilst the game does have micro-transactions and despite needing to pay to get access right now, the balancing seems pretty decent on the whole, with you being able to progress through the game just by playing and getting end of mission rewards. What's best though, the game is very generous with V-Bucks, meaning you can easily earn enough to buy a full season of Battle Royale within a few days. A few on the forum are really into it... you should be to. Media Our very own @robdood is the go to forum expert in this mode right now and you should check out his videos too. 20. I think this game is good enough to warrant it's own thread, I was surprised there wasn't one already. It just recently launched at mid price, 23 quid, on all the major platforms. It's been in early access as an open world survival game for ages. It now has a good story mode with 5 chapters, but only 2 have been released so far with the other 3 coming as free downloads. I put about 40 hours into the sandbox mode a few years back, but it's been overhauled since then and is now pretty beautiful and highly polished. If you like survival games, especially solo, this is the best one I've played. Highly atmospheric and scary at times. Just checked - rated very positive on steam with 25k reviews and 4.5/5 on xbox.
