  1. This first got my attention at EGX 2015, and I've been looking forward to it ever since. Been playing it for a while now after backing the Kickstarter and it hasn't disappointed me. It's taken a while mainly because it's been made by a three man team, but it has an excellent licensed soundtrack and lovely production values. Funded by the Greenshoots programme set up by Microsoft and Creative England. Obviously hugely influenced by Rez but different enough to have its own identity. For one thing it's less relaxing, with shorter, more intense levels (15 of them). The major new gameplay mechanic is the ribbon of light you have to trace with the left analogue stick, which follows a part of the track - usually the bass line, sometimes the vocal. This drops out, Guitar Hero/Amplitude style, if you aren't in the right place, and in this way the gameplay feels very connected to the music. So yeah, it's dead good and you should all probably buy it.
  2. A Definitive Edition for Switch! Releasing Winter 2019 Details Orchestral soundtrack English and Japanese voices 16-bit version included (which looks like the 3DS version) Additional story content
  3. By Crytek Official Site Release Date: Take a wild guess... ABOUT IMAGES VIDEOS Looks very promising. And maybe this one won't be stuck in early access hell?
  4. Super sketchy stolen trailer might not last for long... Should be fully announced at Gamescom next week.
  5. Most important bit currently: Switch version out on August 7, 2018! Should leave you with enough time to complete Hollow Knight.
  6. Couldn't see a thread on this already. http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2020/02/ps_plus_march_2020_ps4_games_announced SOTC remake and Sonic Forces Personally not played either so i'm looking forward to these joining the digital pile of shame
  7. https://uk.ign.com/articles/samurai-jack-video-game-announced-for-pc-ps4-xbox-and-switch http://www.adultswim.com/games/samurai-jack http://soleilgamestudios.com/EN/games/20001/ Developed by Soleil Game Studios, whose CEO Yoshifuru Okamoto worked as a producer on Ninja Gaiden II and Devil's Third. The IGN article suggests that others in the development team worked on Ninja Gaiden and DOA too. Here's the trailer; watch to the end to hear Greg Baldwin's Aku saying "Rated T for Teen"! Unfortunately, although some of the graphics look like they do a good job of translating the caroon's geometric style into 3D (e.g. those spiky tree trunks and pastel leaf blobs in the background at 0:14), they haven't gone for a borderless, flat cel-shaded style that would have matched the cartoon. Also, so far there's not enough robot oil blood splattering on display for my liking! Looks like the game will cover events from the original series run, as well as season 5's Bearded, Machine-Gunning Biker Jack. This means we'll be able to fight at least two of the seven Daughters of Aku, who gave us one of the best animated fight sequences I've ever seen. And yes, the Scotsman will be in it, which is good news because season 5 didn't give us enough of him! The alligator robot from this shot is from the episode where he first turned up: From IGN:
  8. Maybe set around the Mayan Temples/pyramids of Mexico?
  9. A new game from the team that brought you Shovel Knight. A quintessential Ninja action game in the style of Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden. https://yachtclubgames.com/cyber-shadow/ Pre-orders will be available soon on all formats: Steam, Switch, PS4, Xbox One
  10. Fresh from the exceedingly grim atmosphere portrayed in Vampyr, here's another interesting, though very dark, prospect.
  11. http://yachtclubgames.com/plague-of-shadows/ Free! For people who bought Shovel Knight, obviously. Which is everyone.
  12. Out this Thursday! £10.99 Reviews have started coming in for Simogo's new game...and it seems pretty special. Eurogamer - Recommended The Sixth Axis - 10/10 Games Revolution - 4.5/5 Basically, it looks and sounds awesome. And even though it's meant to be short (you can get through the game in an hour, apparently), it's that good that you want to replay it often - kinda like Rez, I guess. I really hope it doesn't get drowned out this week. While it's up against the Goose and Zelda on Switch, it looks like it deserves its own limelight hence me starting this thread.
  13. Supermassive's follow up to Until Dawn - features couch and online co-op. Out August 30th 2019
  14. https://www.vg247.com/2017/08/02/all-the-persona-news-from-todays-livestream-persona-5-dancing-star-night-persona-3-dancing-moon-night-persona-q2/ Okay, there was no way they could ever match the hype of the P5 reveal stream (which teased Ultimax, Q, Dancing and P5) but this is good news for fans of those series. Me, I don't own a 3DS (or care about EO gameplay) and I still haven't played P4D, but they seem like perfect sequel and spin-off fodder. (I would have loved a new Arena though, grumble grumble...) 15. Introducing Babylon's Fall / [ バビロンズフォール ] 2018 announcement trailer: State of Play 2019 trailer: Recently revealed at Square Enix's E3 conference this week, I thought we may as well get started with a thread for this. I did some freeze-frames on the captions and there's a lot of setup for the story premise. An unknown power named the Oversoul can forsee future events and be harnessed in weapons, but an all-consuming darkness is forseen - the only indication of "mankind's revival" coming from the "darklands". Meanwhile, riots break out over the Oversoul (ab)use, and the elder gods strike down against mankind because riots aren't cool. The goddess Gaia steps in to create a new world that saves mankind from extinction, and the Scholars of Gaia are formed to help maintain faith in the goddess. New and old ideologies clash, Gaia kicks off, and humanity must strike back. Full captions from the 2018 announcement trailer are below - apologies for any typos, but they move fast! So yeah, there’s all of that, not to mention what could be seen as a nod to Revelations 18 in the title. It's way too soon to pin down a genre - I'm not as brave as some of the Sekiro fans - but armoured badasses and angry gods are usually a safe bet for Platinum. 16. Out today! I’m getting it on Switch. I may have ordered 3 ships off amazon last night as well. Reviews have been decent for the most part.
  17. From V1 Interactive.
  18. Coming to all platforms January 30th for about £15... Below are some notes from the MS Store page: https://www.arcsystemworks.jp/codeshifter/ I adore crossover stuff when it's done well, and this is looking like Arc's own Street Fighter X Mega Man. With the story premise of Wario Ware. But maybe even better than all of that. The trailer didn't show a whole lot of action-packed gameplay, and I can see that the clashing styles might not be everyone's bag, but I'm interested in finding out more about this...
  19. Are you an Eighties throwback like me? Well listen up you might like this... It's currently up on Kickstarter and will aim to release on all Consoles (yes Switch too) and PC in 2019. There's lots of digital tiers with many extras. It's not very expensive to support. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1103388577/198x/ Looks promising or will it be a cynical nostalgia cash-in jack of all trades and master of none?

    Chime Sharp

Remember Chime? The music puzzle game for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC? No? Well, it was great! Not only was it great, a portion of it's early sales went to charity. I am pretty sure this was before the days of Humble Bundle too, so good on them. Made by Ste Curren and the team at Zoe Mode. Really it was bloody fantastic and up there with Droplitz as one of myt favourite puzzle games of the generation. Anyway, it has spawned a sequel after a successful Kickstarter campaign and for a while it was exclusive to PC, but it is now available on both PS4 and Xbox One. Get it now, it is really, REALLY good. PSN XBOX LIVE STEAM Now just add the original Chime to Xbox One backwards compatibility and we can all be happy!

    Blood and Truth

Does it deserve it's own thread? https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2017/10/30/blood-truth-announced-for-playstation-vr-from-the-team-behind-the-london-heist/#sf128799086#sf128908670 Stuart Whyte, Director of VR Product Development at London Studios says and the heist was the best thing on the VR worlds disc, and had plenty of scope for building a proper full game around. So they have: and yay, supports multiple playthroughs, and so on and so forth!
  22. Anyone remember this? https://3drealms.com/catalog/kingpin-reloaded_171/
  23. Any objections? Coming to PS4, Xbox One, Switch and Steam in early 2019.
  24. Out in September: I've never played a River City/Kunio-kun game (I only know Ransom because American NES owners tend to look back on it fondly). These brief clips of pixel animation combat look good!
