  1. It's Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, who some don't get on with, so I thought I'd mention that first. And don't ask me what's going on with that title. Coming to Netflix on 21 September. Evan Peters stars as Dahmer. 3. They're giving a live-action Avatar another go, after that movie which doesn't exist. It's being run by the original animated show's creators/showrunners and will be on Netflix, in partnership with Nickelodeon. They specifically mention a culturally-appropriate, non-whitewashed cast and that Netflix are backing them in their vision to go even deeper into the characters, story, action, and world-building. Not a lot of detail yet, but they plan to do exciting things such as "expand the universe" and "deepen the existing mythology". It'll explore the dark inner workings of Umbrella Corporation and the new world order. The latter are wrestlers, right?

  19. This'll probably go down like a lead balloon. It's already a classic and has an English dub regarded as exemplary. Can they possibly make any improvements? It's coming from a studio that also feels the need to remake Snowpiercer.
  20. New on Netflix, from Adi Shankar. Superhero satire. Very much faux-80s schlock. Wears a low budget on its sleeve. Live action, but with lots of animation of various types. Only 7 20 minute episodes. Fuck knows what kind of hot mess this could be, for better or worse. Includes Christopher Judge, Jane Seymour, Denise Richards and Derek Mears.
  21. Brooker did another interactive thing for Netflix. A cartoon with a Tex Avery and Chuck Jones style. It's about a cat breaking into a museum, to burgle. And a dog security guard trying to stop him. Rather than making decisions on what to do next like Bandersnatch, it asks trivia questions and your answers determine if what the character is doing at that moment succeeds or not. Or as Brooker says, "you’re controlling the luck of the character, rather than the decisions they’re making". I only discovered it in this interview. It's out tomorrow.
