  1. For many years I ran the videogame review website called Gamestyle with @Swainy @bradigor @strider and a retro section by some bloke called Darran Jones. (There were a lot more people who I haven't credited here because I don’t know if they're on RLLMUK) Back in 2012, me and a mate tried to launch a new site called Game ID. It was going to be big and grandiose and be "IMDB for games" with a lot of extra bells and whistles. A site like MobyGames, but much more modern and nicer. We built two versions of the website over a year. We were not really happy with the quality and as my friend Jon moved abroad for a job at Google, and I to Microsoft - it just didn't happen. We never launched it. 10 years later, Jon and his developer friend rebooted the name and concept and have launched a streamlined version of an app to the iOS App Store. https://apps.apple.com/no/app/game-id/id1607800314 Its pretty much a basic GoodReads for videogames. Rate them, create lists, read news. I haven't had a hand in making this version, so can take no credit, but encourage you to give it a whirl and send any feedback you have to @gameidapp on Twitter. https://gameid.co
  2. Is anyone else playing this? It's pretty awesome! After loving the original on the PSP, the Xbox Live Arcade Lumines Live! version and Lumines Electronic Symphony on the Vita, I was sceptical how this would work, but it turns out really well! It looks and sounds beautiful and the controls click easily. A nice review from touch arcade here: http://toucharcade.com/2016/09/01/lumines-puzzle-music-review-shinin-as-bright-as-it-can/
  3. Just thought it was kind of mad we don't have a thread to discuss browser games, and thought it might be nice to have a place where people can stick any recommendations, really. For those that haven't been paying attention, a quiet revolution has occurred over the last five years or so in web gaming, as Flash games have slowly given way to HTML5 native games. Much of this has been thanks to Pixi.js, a rendering engine created by Mat Groves, that has revolutionised HTML5 development. Pixi allows devs to produce games that look easily as good as any app or Flash game, with the added bonus that they'll work on pretty much any browser, mobile or tablet. I was pretty skeptical at first, but having spent the last year or so working mostly on HTML5 games with Mat, I've just been blown away by the results you can get. Like, here's just a few of the HTML5 games I've made recently, starting with my Bugs Bunny-themed F-Zero tribute: http://www.boomerangtv.co.uk/games/tom-and-jerry-boomerang-sports http://games.disney.co.uk/star-wars-rebels/star-wars-arcade/yodas-jedi-training http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/games/danger-mouse-game Any good ones out there (HTML5 or Flash) you like?
  4. Apologies for people waiting for Beta invites..
