  1. Sorry deKay, I couldn't wait. From http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/12/nintendo_download_24th_december_europe Note the pooey brown colour for SM64DS - it's still a great game, but it's not been properly optimised from what I hear so there's no analogue movement on the stick, only the screen. Wii U eShop Kung Fu FIGHT! (Nostatic Games, €1.99 / £1.49) - The second release from this studio to make its way to Wii U, this has a similar visual style to The Quiet Collection but is a twitch-reaction runner; there are multiple difficulty modes available, too. We gave this a recommendation in our Kung Fu FIGHT! review. Wii U Virtual Console Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (Nintendo, €7.99 / £5.49) - This Squaresoft-developed title was the start of an era; RPG-style experiences featuring Mario are a regular occurrence nowadays, and they have this SNES release to thank. It's a thoroughly charming and memorable experience that we wrote about recently, and we'll bring you a review soon. Super Mario 64 DS (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) - The original is often lauded as one of the greatest and most influential games of all time, and this re-make on DS was certainly a showcase for the portable's capabilities. This iteration introduced new content that included playable Luigi, Yoshi and Wario characters, though we felt it didn't live up to its source material in our original review. Wii U eShop Temporary Discount Darksiders II (Nordic Games, €12.49 / £9.99 /until 7th January, normally €49.99 / £39.99) Legend of Kay Anniversary (Nordic Games, €7.49 / £4.99 until 7th January, normally €29.99 / £19.99) The Swindle (Curve Digital, €6.99 / £5.49 until 7th January, normally €14.99 / £11.99) Electronic Super Joy (Broken Rules, €6.99 / £5.99 until 7th January, normally €7.99 / £6.99) Human Resource Machine (Tomorrow Corporation, €7.99 / £6.99 until 31st December, normally €9.99 / £8.99) Roving Rogue (Padaone Games, €3.99 / £3.59 until 7th January, normally €7.99 / £7.19) Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party (KnapNok Games, €3.99 / £3.99 until 7th January, normally €8.99 / £8.00) Tengami (Nyamyam, €3.99 / £3.49 until 10th January, normally €7.99 / £6.99) TNT Racers - Nitro Machines Edition (Keen Games, €4.99 / £4.49 until 14th January, normally €7.99 / £6.99) Zombie Defense (Teyon, €3.99 / £3.59 until 7th January, normally €7.99 / £7.19) 3DS eShop Japanese Rail Sim 3D Journey to Kyoto (Sonic Powered Co., €1.00 / £1.00 until 7th January, then €14.99 / £12.99) - The latest entry in this series in which you gently guide your train around the rails, this may have some appeal to Nintendo fans as it takes place on the Eizan Electric Railway around the company's home city. Despite that potential charm, however, we were critical of this one in our review. Ocean Runner (Teyon, €2.99 / £2.69) - With fish breeds that conveniently echo quite a few of those found in Finding Nemo, this is a runner (swimmer?) with a top down perspective and online leaderboards to boot. We'll take a deep breath and dive in for a review. 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (Capcom, €22.49 / £19.99 until 7th January, normally €44.99 / £39.99) Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars (Atlus, €9.99 / £7.40 until 7th January, normally €29.99 / £24.99) Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven (Marvelous, €20.99 / £17.49 until 6th January, normally €29.99 / £24.99) Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked (Ghostlight, €11.99 / £9.99 until 7th January, normally €34.99 / £29.99) Shingeki no Kyojin: Humanity in Chains (Atlus, €19.99 / £14.04 until 31st December, normally €29.99 / £34.99) BIT.TRIP SAGA (Choice Provisions, €4.99 / £4.49 until 7th January, normally €19.99 / £17.99) Virtue's Last Reward (Rising Star Games, €12.49 / £9.99 until 7th January, normally €24.99 / £19.99) Girls' Fashion Shoot (Rising Star Games, €4.99/ £4.99 until 7th January, normally €19.99 / £19.99) Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi (Rising Star Games, €11.99 / £11.99 until 7th January, normally €29.99 / £29.99) Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns (Rising Star Games, €9.99 / £8.99 until 7th January, normally €19.99 / £17.99) Hometown Story (Rising Star Games, €7.49 / £7.49 until 7th January, normally €29.99 / £29.99) Shifting World (Rising Star Games, €4.99 / £4.49 until 7th January, normally €19.99 / £17.99) Jewel Master Cradle Of Egypt 2 3D (Rising Star Games, €4.99 / £4.49 until 7th January, normally €19.99 / £17.99) Jewel Master Cradle Of Rome 2 (Rising Star Games, €4.99 / £4.49 until 7th January, normally €19.99 / £17.99) Super Black Bass 3D (Rising Star Games, €4.99 / £4.49 until 7th January, normally €19.99/ £17.99) 2 Fast 4 Gnomz (QubicGames, €2.99 / £2.69 until 21st January, normally €4.99 / £4.49) AiRace Speed (QubicGames, €2.39 / £2.10 until 21st January, normally €3.49 / £3.10) AiRace Xeno (QubicGames, €1.69 / £1.59 until 21st January, normally €2.49 / £2.29) Banana Bliss: Jungle Puzzles (Teyon, €1.99 / £1.79 until 7th January, normally €3.99 / £3.59) Chat-A-Lot (Teyon, €3.99 / £3.59 until 7th January, normally €7.99 / £7.19) Excave (Teyon, €2.49 / £2.24 until 7th January, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Crazy Chicken Pirates 3D (Teyon, €0.99 / £0.89 until 7th January, normally €1.99 / £1.79) Governor of Poker (Teyon, €2.49 / £2.24 until 7th January, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Groove Heaven (Teyon, €1.99 / £1.79 until 7th January, normally €3.99 / £3.59) Heavy Fire: Black Arms 3D (Teyon, €2.49 / £2.24 until 7th January, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Heavy Fire: Special Operations 3D (Teyon, €2.49 / £2.24 until 7th January, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Iron Combat: War in the Air (Teyon, €3.49 / £3.14 until 7th January, normally €6.99 / £6.29) Robot Rescue 3D (Teyon, €1.49 / £1.39 until 7th January, normally €2.99 / £2.69) Skater Cat (Teyon, €2.49 / £2.24 until 7th January, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Coaster Creator 3D (Big John Games, €4.70 / £3.90 until 7th January, normally €7.25 / £6.00) Cube Creator 3D (Big John Games, €5.00/ £3.50 until 7th January, normally €7.50 / £5.25) Cube Tactics (Big John Games, €2.49 / £2.24 until 7th January, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Crash City Mayhem (Ghostlight, €7.99 / £6.99 until 7th January, normally €19.99 / £17.99) Crazy Construction (Joindots, €5.59 / £3.99 until 7th January, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Funfair Party Games (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.69 until 7th January, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Jewel Match 3 (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.99 until 7th January, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Safari Quest (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.99 until 7th January, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Secret Agent Files: Miami (Joindots, €5.99 / £4.49 until 7th January, normally €7.99 / £5.99) Cubit the Hardcore Platformer Robot (Coderchild, €1.99 / £1.80 until 7th January, €2.99 / £2.69) Zombie Incident (Coderchild, €1.49 / £1.35 until 7th January, normally €1.99 / £1.99) Fairune (CIRCLE Entertainment, €1.99 / £1.59until 14th January, normally €2.99 / £2.39) Glory of Generals (CIRCLE Entertainment, €3.99 / £3.19 until 14th January, normally €9.99 / £7.99) Parking Star 3D (CIRCLE Entertainment, €1.99 / £1.69 until 14th January, normally €2.99 / £2.49) Quell Reflect (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.79 / £2.20 until 14th January, normally €3.99 / £3.19) Samurai Defender (CIRCLE Entertainment, €1.99 / £1.59 until 14th January, normally €2.99 / £2.39) Swords & Soldiers 3D (CIRCLE Entertainment, €3.99 / £3.29 until 14th January, normally €6.99 / £5.59) KORG DSN-12 (Detune, €14.99 / £12.49 until 7th January, normally €29.99 / £24.99) KORG M01D (Detune, €12.49 / £9.99 until 7th January, normally €24.99 / £19.99) Snow Moto Racing 3D (Zordix AB, €3.99 / £3.59 until 31st December, normally €7.99 / £7.19) 3DS HOME Themes Pokémon: Poké Crests & Kokeshi Dolls (Nintendo, €1.99 / £1.79) Pokémon: Peeking Pokémon Friends (Nintendo, €1.99 / £1.79)
  2. This week! From Nintendolife! Wii U eShop FAST Racing NEO (Shin'en Multimedia, €14.99 / £10.99) - Futuristic sci-fi racing games have become a rare entity on Nintendo hardware, and so the hype around this racer is certainly understandable. A follow-up to FAST - Racing League on WiiWare, this new entry makes various changes to the gameplay and has lovely 60fps performance with flashy visuals. We've been impressed in hands on time to date and our full review will be with you prior to release this week. Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures (ScrewAttack Games, €9.99 / £8.99) - It's taken a while, but this rather difficult AVGN action platformer has now arrived on the Wii U in Europe. It's certainly challenging and has plenty of references and nods to retro gaming and the YouTube series; we gave this a recommendation in our Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures Wii U review. VoxelMaker (Nostatic Software, €4.49 / £3.49) - A 3D art studio that's centred around creating models and environments with 3D blocks, which can then be rendered with realistic lighting and shadows. This offers a good toolset and earned a recommendation in our VoxelMaker review, even if the end results are only good for display and little more. Dinox (Engine Software, €4.99 / £4.49) - This is a 'prehistory' trivia game that'll support solo play or up to four players at once, promising over 900 questions overall. We'll dust off some fossils and bring you a review. Wii U Virtual Console Game & Watch Gallery Advance (Nintendo, €6.99 / £6.29) - A neat entry as this series of collections moved off the Game Boy Colour, this title offers a range of 'Classic' games (like Mario's Cement Factory, Donkey Kong Jr., Donkey Kong 3, Fire, Boxing, and Rain Shower) and also modern remasters utilising the GBA's capabilities. We'll watch this one closely and bring you a review. Polarium Advance (Nintendo, €6.99 / £6.29) - The eShop is well stocked with puzzle games, though Nintendo is keen to boost the Wii U library with this somewhat unique Game Boy Advance title; your goal is to flip tiles in one move so that they're all matching colours. It should make more sense when you play it, and we'll get into it for a review. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Citizens of Earth (Atlus, €4.99 / £4.00 until 24th December, normally €11.99 / £9.99) Life of Pixel (Super Icon, €4.99/ £4.49 until 9th January, normally €9.99 / £8.99) Rock 'N Racing Off Road DX (EnjoyUp Games, €2.99/ £2.69 until 7th January, then €5.99 / £5.39) ZaciSa: Defense of the Crayon Dimensions! (ZeNfA Productions, €0.99 / £0.79 until 7th January, normally €2.99 / £2.29) 3DS eShop SteamWorld Heist (Image & Form, €16.99 / £11.99 until 31st December, then 19.99 / £14.99) - The follow-up to breakthrough title SteamWorld Dig, this adopts a turn-based 2D strategy approach for the highly stylised steambot IP. A lengthy campaign is promised along with plenty of weapons and hats, because robots wearing hats are surely irresistible; our review will be with you prior to release. Free and exclusive 3DS HOME Theme included with all purchases before 31st December. Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures (ScrewAttack Games, €9.99 / £8.99) - This version throws stereoscopic 3D into the mix, and if you like a challenge it may be well worth consideration. We enjoyed this portable iteration in out Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures 3DS review. Rytmik Ultimate (Cinemax, €17.99 / £15.99, or €9.99 / £8.99 for those with The Keep on the same Nintendo Network ID) - This music creation tool will include the sound samples from its predecessors on DSiWare along with new content, while there'll also be options to share, listen to and collaborate on music online. We'll create some tunes and bring you a review. Petit Novel Series - Harvest December (CIRCLE Entertainment, €11.99 / £9.19) - The eShop platforms have hosted a few storybook series, and this is the latest to stake its claim; this one has 13 short stories following a teenager called Masaki Konno, one for each month and culminating with Harvest December. The Magic Hammer (Wobbly Tooth, €4.99 / £4.49) - This is ambitious in nature, promising an open-world RPG with customisation and exploration featured. Throw in local and online co-op alongside a 'Creative Mode' and there's plenty to offer on paper, though in the end we thought the execution and final experience was average in our review. 3DS Retail Download Terraria (505 Games, €19.99 / £16.99) - This 2D platformer / resource / sandbox game has become a huge success since it took off as an Indie title on PC, picking up 505 Games as a publisher and arriving on a host of platforms. The 3DS version will deliver some welcome portability, of course, with the touch screen put to good use. You can check out our hands on impressions to see more, and we'll dig into a review. 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Shin Megami Tensei IV (Atlus, €9.99 / £7.40 until 24th December, normally €19.99 / £17.99) Citizens of Earth (Atlus, €4.99 / £4.00 until 24th December, normally €11.99 / £9.99) Adventure Bar Story (CIRCLE Entertainment, €3.99 / £3.19 until 31st December, normally €4.99 / £3.99) Brunch Panic (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.49 until 31st December, normally €3.99 / £3.39) KAMI (CIRCLE Entertainment, €1.99 / £1.59 until 31st December, normally €2.99 / £2.39) Sweet Memories Blackjack (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.39 until 31st December, normally €3.99 / £3.19) Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX (Akaoni Studio, €4.99 / £4.49 until 9th January, normally €7.00 / £6.30) 3DS HOME Themes Happy Holidays with Mario & Luigi (Nintendo, €1.99 / £1.79) Le Qpiz superoine nella notte! (Zodiak Active, €0.99) Pedalate Qpiz! (Zodiak Active, €0.99) Le Qpiz e la neve: bel lancio Liebe! (Zodiak Active, €0.99)
  3. Frankly, a fucking awesome week for a change. From Nintendolife: Wii U Retail Download Xenoblade Chronicles X (Monolith Soft, €59.99 / £49.99 or €49.99 / £40.99 until 18th December for those that have downloaded Xenoblade Chronicles on the same Wii U) - An exciting arrival for many that enjoyed the Wii predecessor, this new entry sees an entirely new setting and cast on the impressive Planet Mira as a colony of humans strives for survival. It's a complex, demanding game that also rewards the many hours of time invested, with some familiar ideas and mechanics blending with new approaches. Our review will be with you later today, and until then you can check out our preview. Available from 4th December. Wii U eShop Human Resource Machine (Tomorrow Corporation, €9.99 / £8.99) - From the team behind World of Goo and the intriguing Little Inferno, this takes the form of a fiendish puzzle game. In each level your boss gives you a job which you can automate by programming your little office worker. If you succeed you'll be promoted up to the next level for another year of work in the vast office building. Despite some flaws it's a neat idea, and we gave it a recommendation in our Human Resource Machine review. Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure (Capcom, €14.99 / £13.49 until 18th December, then €19.99 / £17.99) - When gamers talk about underappreciated gems from the Wii era, this can often come into the conversation. A quirky point-and-click adventure with a sharp script, this used the Wii Remote in various clever ways; it's very much a concept title for the system. We loved this in ourZack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure review. Wii U Virtual Console Kirby Mass Attack (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99 or €4.99 / £4.49 until 10th December for those that have downloaded Kirby: Power Paintbrush on the same Wii U) - Kirby has had his share of spin-off concept games, and this was another that graced the DS. Utilising the portable's touch screen this one's all about using lots of Kirby characters to get by, and we loved it in our review. Kirby: Power Paintbrush (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99 or €4.99 / £4.49 until 10th December for those that have downloaded Kirby Mass Attack on the same Wii U) - The DS predecessor to 2015 Wii U release Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush, this once again utilised the DS touch screen, except this time it was all about drawing lines to help Kirby roll his way along; we were fans in our originalKirby: Power Paintbrush review. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Wicked Monsters Blast! HD PLUS (Corecell, €2.99 / £2.69 until 31st December, normally € 7.99 / £7.19) EDGE (Two Tribes, €0.79 / £0.71 until 17th December, normally €1.99 / £1.79) RUSH (Two Tribes, €0.79 / £0.71 until 17th December, normally €1.99 / £1.79) Swords & Soldiers (Two Tribes, €1.19 / £0.99 until 17th December, normally €2.99 / £2.69) Toki Tori (Two Tribes, €0.79 / £0.69 until 17th December, normally €1.99 / £1.79) Toki Tori 2+ (Two Tribes, €2.99 / £2.49 until 17th December, normally €14.99 / £12.99) Wii U DLC Xenoblade Chronicles X (Disc version): Basic High-Speed Data Loading Pack - Impact: High(Nintendo, free) Xenoblade Chronicles X (Disc version): Enemy High-Speed Data Loading Pack - Impact: Medium (Nintendo, free) Xenoblade Chronicles X (Disc version): Player High-Speed Data Loading Pack - Impact: Medium (Nintendo, free) Xenoblade Chronicles X (Disc version): Skell High-Speed Data Loading Pack - Impact: Medium (Nintendo, free) 3DS Retail Download Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros. (Nintendo, €39.99 / £34.99) - The latest entry of AlphaDream's terrifically quirky RPG series sees the worlds of this franchise and Paper Mario combine. As a result the brothers team up with Paper Mario, and this allows the developers to play around with new ideas and approaches. We gave it a strong recommendation in our Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros. review. Available from 4th December. 3DS eShop Pokémon Picross (Nintendo, free) - This free-to-play version of the popular puzzle game comes with a Pokémon flavour, as you create images of 'mon and then utilise their skills and special buffs in follow-up puzzles. We'll start puzzling out how this one and its microtransactions come together. 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts AeternoBlade (Corecell, €4.99 / £4.50 until 31st December, normally €14.99 / £13.50) 3D MahJongg (Joindots, €3.99 / £3.59 until 17th December, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Gardenscapes (Joindots, €5.99 / £4.49 until 17th December, normally €7.99 / £5.99) Pazuru (Joindots, €4.49 / £2.99 until 17th December, normally €5.99 / £3.99) Darts Up 3D (EnjoyUp Games, €0.99 / £0.89 until 31st December, normally €2.99 / £2.69) Football Up Online (EnjoyUp Games, €1.99 / £1.79 until 31st December, normally €3.99 / £3.59) 3DS eShop DLC The following 'Picrites' options are available with Pokémon Picross: 200 Picrites (one-off price) - €0.99 / £0.89 200 Picrites - €1.49 / £1.39 1000 Picrites - €6.99 / £6.29 2000 Picrites - €12.99 / £11.69 4000 Picrites - €24.99 / £22.49 3DS HOME Themes The Winx at Alfea – A fairylicious school (Rainbow, €1.99 / £1.79) - Available from 4th December. Mia and Me - A Centopic friendship (Rainbow, €1.99 / £1.79) - Available from 4th December.
  4. This week! Something about Barbie's sisters' puppies, f'nar. And pony sex. Form Nintednolife (DYSWIDT): Wii U eShop Typoman (Headup Games, €13.99 / £9.99 or €11.49 / £8.49 until 19th December with E3 Nindies@Home demo on same system) - Kicking off as a Wii U exclusive, this is an intriguing puzzle platformer in which you create words in order to get past hazards and make progress. There was encouragement to be found in the Nindies@Home demo, so we'll dig out our Thesaurus and write up a review. Ninja Strike: Dangerous Dash (Natsume, €5.99 / £4.99) - This is a rather basic action title which sees you running through levels collecting treasures and taking out bad guys; we were left unimpressed in our Ninja Strike: Dangerous Dash review. Totem Topple (Crystalline Green, €2.99 / £1.99) - This budget title sounds rather intriguing, as you combine totem building with elements of tower defence, while totem heads of varying designs have a different effect against attacking creatures. There are Classic and Frantic modes, and we'll build up a review soon. Wii U Virtual Console LOL WUT Animal Crossing: Wild World (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) - With Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival arriving in stores on 20th November, the DS entry will remind players of the traditional AC experience on the Wii U eShop. This is a charming entry that we enjoyed in our original review, though this download version won't include online or multiplayer features. Wii U Retail Downloads Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash (Nintendo, €49.99 / £39.99) - The latest entry in this particular sporting series sees Mario and company take to the court in all their HD glory. Mega Mushrooms and bigger jump shots make their appearances, along with the ability to level up an amiibo buddy for doubles play, though we were left underwhelmed by the content on offer in our preview. We'll have thoughts on the online play and more in our full review, soon. Available from 20th November. Copy of Mario Tennis free with all download purchases until 17th December. Barbie and her Sisters Puppy Rescue (Little Orbit, €29.99 / £24.99) Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Blocky Bot (Mobot Studios, €1.29 / £0.94 until 3rd December, normally €2.69 / £1.89) Paper Monsters Recut (Mobot Studios, €3.19/ £2.69 until 3rd December, normally €6.49 / £5.49) Stone Shire (Finger Gun Games, €1.00 / £1.00 until 10th December, normally €7.99 / £7.00) TNT Racers - Nitro Machines Edition (Keen Games, €4.99 / £4.49 until 26th November, normally €7.99 / £6.99) 3DS eShop Johnny's Payday Panic (Office Create, €3.99/ £2.99) - Effectively Capitalism: The Game, you work a menial job in the food industry in order to earn money and buy fancy things; this happens through what looks like a series of frantic minigames. Apparently your wage goes up and down depending on performance and the boss can call you in at any time - even though it's breaking every employment law under the sun we'll get working on a review. 3DS Retail Downloads Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique 2 - Fashion Forward (Nintendo, €39.99 / £34.99) - The second series entry on 3DS finally makes its way to the West; this one expands on its predecessor with new career paths and tasks, while amiibo support is included for unlocking some quirky outfits. We'll strut our stuff and bring you a review soon. Available from 20th November. Barbie and her Sisters Puppy Rescue (Little Orbit, €29.99 / £24.99) I Love My Pony (Bigben Interactive, €24.99 / £19.99) 3DS DLC Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: All Skills Must Go! (NIS America, €0.99 / £0.89) 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Crazy Construction (Joindots, €5.59 / £3.99 until 26th November, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Funfair Party Games (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.69 until 26th November, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Jewel Match 3 (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.99 until 26th November, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Safari Quest (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.99 /until 26th November, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Secret Agent Files: Miami (Joindots, €5.99 / £4.49 until 26th November, normally €7.99 / £5.99) 3DS HOME Themes Nintendo presents: New Style Boutique 2 - Caprice Chalet (Nintendo, €1.99 / £1.79) Nintendo presents: New Style Boutique 2 - Dressed Up (Nintendo, €1.99 / £1.79) Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes: Totem Team (Nintendo, €1.99 / £1.79)
  5. This week, from Nintendolife: Wii U eShop Word Party (Lightwood Games, €12.79 / £11.99 until 26th November, then €15.99 / £14.99) - This series of 28 minigames accommodates up to five players at once - using Wii Remotes and the GamePad - and plays around with various wordy premises. There are crosswords and word searches, of course, but also quirky minigames such as "Whack-A-Vowel" and "Space Blaster". We had a brief play of this at EGX in September and found ourselves having quite a lot of fun; we'll bring you a review soon. Wii U Retail Download Rodea the Sky Soldier (NIS America, €49.99 / £39.99) - After a long time waiting this Yuji Naka title - or at least it was in its original guise - is finally on the way. It's been delayed a few times and was a commercial flop in Japan, yet we had fun with it when we got to play it earlier in the year. We're taking flight to bring you a review soon. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Affordable Space Adventures (KnapNok Games, €15.00 / £13.50 until 26th November, normally €18.99 / £16.99) Roving Rogue (Padaone Games, €5.99 / £5.39 until 26th November, normally €7.99 / £7.19) Rock 'N Racing Off Road DX (EnjoyUp Games, €4.95/ £4.45 until 10th December, normally €7.99 / £7.19) Wii U eShop Permanent Price Drop Canvaleon (OXiAB Game Studio, €9.95 / £8.99, was previously €13.95 / £12.59) Wii U Demo Word Party (Lightwood Games, free) 3DS eShop Family Bowling 3D (Arc System Works, €4.99 / £4.49) — Arc System Works continues its Family range of games, allowing up to four players to take each other on in multiple modes, while solo bowlers can also take on some challenges. We reviewed the North American release over two years ago and thought it was rather good. 3DS Retail Downloads Rodea the Sky Soldier (NIS America, €39.99 / £34.99) - The portable version of this title could provide a nice alternative for those seeking fast-paced action on the go. Hello Kitty & Friends: Rockin' World Tour (Bergsala Lightweight, €29.99 / £24.99) - Available from 13th November. Horse Life 4 (Ravenscourt, €39.99 / £34.99) 3DS DLC Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: Addonetarium (NIS America, €0.99 / £0.89) - Available from 13th November. 3DS HOME Themes SEGA Game Gear Theme (SEGA, €1.79 / £1.59) SEGA Mark III Theme (SEGA, €1.79 / £1.59) SEGA Master System Theme (SEGA, €1.79 / £1.59) SEGA MEGA DRIVE Theme (SEGA, €1.79 / £1.59) Barbie (Mattel, €1.49 / £1.39) Monster High (Mattel, €1.49 / £1.39) Hot Wheels (Mattel, €1.49 / £1.39)
  6. REMEMBER REMEMBER THE FIFTH OF NOVEMBER Nintendolife says: Wii U eShop Electronic Super Joy (Broken Rules, €7.99 / £6.99) - The predecessor to Electronic Super Joy: Groove City, which was released in North America by a different publisher, this version includes extras and DLC from the PC original. It's precision platforming that's also extremely stylish in its presentation, and we'll have a review with you before it launches. Bike Rider UltraDX - WORLD TOUR (Spicy soft, €6.99 / £4.99) - We're big fans of the original games on 3DS, so there's plenty of reason to be pleased to see this expanded edition arrive on Wii U. Here it supports multiplayer and you can even play as your Mii in the new Battle Mode, for example. We'll hop on our bike to bring you a review soon. Wii U Virtual Console Contra Advance: The Alien Wars EX (Konami, €6.99 / £6.29) - This is a loose port of the SNES classic Contra III: The Alien Wars and originally hit the Game Boy Advance in 2002. It's far from a straight conversion of the 16-bit classic, however; the screen-clearing Mega Bombs have been removed, as has the dual-wield ability which was so handy on the SNES. These omissions are balanced somewhat by the fact that the player can now lock their character's aim while moving, and is also given a opportunity to revert to their previous weapon after picking up a fresh one. We'll blast away some foes for a review. Medabots AX: Metabee & Rokusho (Natsume, €6.99 / £6.29 for each version) - Apparently this 'AX' iteration is a variation on the recent releases with a very similar name; we'll take a look, and in the meantime you can see our original Medabots: Metabee & Rokusho review. Megaman Battle Network 5 Team: Colonel & Protoman (Capcom, €6.99 / £6.29) - This spin-off, turn-based series continues with yet another GBA entry to come over to the Wii U Virtual Console. Once again there are evil forces to stop and two version to choose from, so we'll get cracking on our review. Wii U Retail Download Adventure Time: Finn & Jake Investigations (Little Orbit, €29.99 / £24.99) - With 3D visuals that fans will either love or hate, this offers another gaming experience in the popular IP; we gave it a recommendation in our Adventure Time: Finn & Jake Investigations Wii U review. Available from 6th November. The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure (Activision, €29.99 / £29.99) - Available from 6th November. Hello Kitty Kruisers (Bergsala Lightweight, €29.99 / £24.99) - Available from 6th November. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Nano Assault Neo (Shin'en Multimedia, €7.49 / £6.70 until 26th November, normally €9.99 / £8.99) 99Moves (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 3rd December, normally €2.49 / £2.29) Abyss (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 3rd December, normally €1.99 / £1.79) Rock Zombie (EnjoyUp Games, €3.99 / £3.59 until 3rd December, normally €6.99 / £6.29) SDK Paint (HullBreach Studios, €2.99 / £2.99 until 11th November, normally €4.49 / £3.99) 3DS eShop Toki Tori 3D (Two Tribes, €1.99 / £1.79) - A puzzle title that's been popular on multiple formats over the years, this entry has been ported by Engine Software. There's a new 'rewind' feature and item swapping on the touch screen, so this could potentially be a particularly strong version of the game; we'll hatch out and bring you a review soon. 3DS Retail Downloads Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash (Nintendo, €29.99 / £24.99) - One of Nintendo's lesser known mascots is given an opportunity at stardom in a platformer, with the cute robot's plug being a vital weapon and means of exploration. Retail editions also come with an amiibo, and this release is certainly an interesting arrival in terms of giving the IP a push for the mainstream. We admired this one's charm but had a few reservations in our Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash review. Available from 6th November. Free "Chibi-Robo and the Toys" Home Theme with downloads of the game until 3rd December. Adventure Time: Finn & Jake Investigations (Little Orbit, €29.99 / £24.99) - The latest in the run of licensed titles from this franchise; you can check out our Adventure Time: Finn & Jake Investigations 3DS review for a lowdown. Available from 6th November. Gravity Falls: Legend of the Gnome Gemulets (Ubisoft, €29.99 / £19.99) - This licensed title utilises the UbiArt engine, though we were disappointed with the end result in our Gravity Falls: Legend of the Gnome Gemulets review. Available from 6th November. The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure (Activision, €29.99 / £24.99) - Available from 6th November. Hello Kitty and the Apron of Magic: Rhythm Cooking (Bergsala Interactive, €29.99 / £24.99) -Available from 6th November. 3DS DLC Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker: Let the Demon Grow (NIS America, €0.99 / £0.89) - Available from 6th November. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker: Lost Demon Rescue (NIS America, free) - Available from 6th November. 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Siesta Fiesta (Mojo Bones, €0.99/ £0.99 until 12th November, normally €4.49 / £3.99) Aqua Moto Racing 3D (Zordix AB, €3.99 / £3.59 until 12th November, normally €7.99 / £7.19) Football Up 3D (EnjoyUp Games, €1.99 / £1.79 until 3rd December, normally €2.99 / £2.36) 3DS Demos Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique 2 - Fashion Forward (Nintendo, free) Battleminer (Wobbly Tooth, free) The Legend of Dark Witch (CIRCLE Entertainment, free) 3DS HOME Themes Pokémon: Mega Mewtwo and BREAK Evolution (Nintendo, €1.99 / £1.79) Chibi-Robo and the Toys (Nintendo, €1.99 / £1.79) THE PEANUTS MOVIE (Librica, €1.99 / £1.79)
  7. This week, from Nintendolife, SOME ACTUAL GOOD STUFF HOLY HELL WHAT: Wii U Retail Download Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water (Nintendo / Koei Tecmo, €49.99 / £39.99 with free initial download) - Unlike in North America this download release is also accompanied by a physical retail limited edition. This is a typically chilling entry in the series, which also utilises the GamePad's controls for the Camera Obscura. We were fans of the setting and much about this game, though it does have a few flaws - you can get the full lowdown in our Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water review. Prologue and first two chapters are available as a free download, available from 30th October. Wii U eShop Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition (Capcom, €14.99 / £13.49 until 5th November, then €19.99 / £17.99) - It revolutionised the series when it first arrived on GameCube, and this Wii version includes Wii Remote pointer support and the Separate Ways add-on that was previously a PS2 exclusive. We absolutely loved it in our review and have praised it in various articles over the years. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (Nicalis, €14.99 / £13.49) - Originally developed and released by Edmund McMillan (one half of Team Meat), this has been a long time coming in Europe. This Rebirth edition has improved visuals, new characters, over 100 new items and more in comparison to the PC original, all within the procedurally generated dungeon crawling approach that earned it so many fans. We enjoyed this a lot in our The Binding of Isaac Wii U review. Freedom Planet (GalaxyTrail, €13.99 / £10.99 or €11.89 / £9.34 untl 19th November if you downloaded the Nindies@Home E3 preview) - Though this started out as a Sonic fan game it expands on its source of inspiration, introduces its own world and makes adjustments to give itself an identity of its own. It's an impressive achievement, and we gave it a strong recommendation in ourFreedom Planet review. Slender: The Arrival (Blue Isle Studios, €6.74 / £4.79 until 5th November, then €8.99 / £6.39) - This sequel to 'that game that everyone pretended to scream about on YouTube' has arrived on a host of platforms, and this Wii U version arrives just in time for Halloween. This Wii U entry does have the unique feature of controlling the flashlight with the Wii Remote pointer, and is sure to entertain those that enjoy some old-fashioned jump scares in their gaming. We'll bring you a review soon. Octodad: Dadliest Catch (Young Horse, €11.19 / £9.59 until 5th November, then €13.99 / £11.99) - Already a firm favourite on other systems, Octodad is the story of an octopus pretended to be your average suburban father. To keep up his cover he must perform all the typical tasks a dad does - mowing the lawn, caring for his kids and being an attentive husband to his wife. It's utterly mad, but fantastic fun, and we'll see how this Wii U version stacks up in a review. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Swords & Soldiers II (Ronimo Games, €14.99 / £13.49 until 5th November, normally €18.99 / £16.99) Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition (Bandai Namco, €9.89 / £6.50 /until 12th November, normally €29.99 / £19.99) ONE PIECE Unlimited World Red (Bandai Namco, €14.00 / £9.99 until 12th November, normally €54.99 / £39.99) PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures (Bandai Namco, €9.99 / £8.99 until 12th November, normally €39.99 / £36.99) PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures 2 (Bandai Namco, €15.00 / £10.49 until 12th November, normally €34.99 / £24.99) Ben 10 Omniverse (Bandai Namco, €4.99 / £4.99 until 12th November, normally €19.99 / £19.99) Rise of the Guardians (Bandai Namco, €4.99 / £4.99 until 12th November, normally €19.99 / £19.99) Family Party: 30 Great Games Obstacle Arcade (Bandai Namco, €2.99 / £2.99 until 12th November, normally €19.99 / £19.99) Canvaleon (OXiAB Game Studios, €6.95/ £6.29 until 5th November, normally €13.95 / £12.59) Wii U eShop Permanent Discount Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones (Curve Digital, €9.99 / £7.99, was €13.99 / £12.99) New Nintendo 3DS eShop The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (Nicalis, €14.99 / £13.49) - This portable iteration is only available on the New Nintendo 3DS, and though it's packed with all of the core content it doesn't have the local co-op mode. This fully patched version earned our praise in our The Binding of Isaac New 3DS review. 3DS eShop Escape from Zombie City (Tom Create, €2.99 / £2.69) - A frantic shooter from a top-down perspective, unsurprisingly your goal is to take out a whole lot of zombies, with some different game modes to add freshness to the constant gunplay. Though it maybe doesn't do enough to stand out from the crowd we gave this a modest recommendation in our Escape from Zombie City review. 3DS Retail Download Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker (NIS America, €39.99 / £34.99) - Despite its remarkably long title and initial status as a remaster of a DS title, this is far more than it appears on the surface. It takes an excellent RPG experience and enhances it, before throwing in a new story arc that effectively doubles the content on offer. You can read our detailed Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker review for more details. 3DS DLC Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker - Macca Makes an Escape (NIS America, €0.99 / £0.89) Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker - The Beginner's Brawl (NIS America, free) 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy+ (Bandai Namco, €19.99 / £14.99 until 12th November, normally €39.99 / £29.99) Project X Zone (Bandai Namco, €9.89 / £6.50 until 12th November, normally €29.99 / £19.99) Regular Show: Mordecai & Rigby in 8-Bit Land (Bandai Namco, €4.99 / £4.99 until 12th November, normally €24.99 / £24.99) ONE PIECE Unlimited World Red (Bandai Namco, €9.99 / £6.99 until 12th November, normally €34.99 / £24.99) ONE PIECE Romance Dawn (Bandai Namco, €9.89 / £9.39 until 12th November, normally €29.99 / £28.49) PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures (Bandai Namco, €8.74 / £7.12 until 12th November, normally €34.99 / £28.49) PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures 2 (Bandai Namco, €9.99 / £6.99 until 12th November, normally €34.99 / £24.99) Ben 10 Omniverse 2 (Bandai Namco, €4.99 / £3.74 until 12th November, normally €19.99 / £14.99) Power Rangers Megaforce (Bandai Namco, €9.89 / £9.39 until 12th November, normally €29.99 / £28.49) Power Rangers Super Megaforce (Bandai Namco, €9.99 / £7.00 until 12th November, normally €34.99 / £24.99) Tenkai Knights: Brave Battle (Bandai Namco, €9.99 / £6.99 until 12th November, normally €34.99 / £24.99) The Keep (Cinemax, €5.99 / £5.49 until 11th November, normally €9.99 / £8.99) 3DS Demo Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash (Nintendo, demo) 3DS HOME Themes Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer - The Office (Nintendo, €1.99 / £1.79) Super Mario Bros. Famicom Cartridge (Nintendo, €1.99 / £1.79)
  8. This week! From Nintendolife! 3D Sonic 2! And some other things!: Wii U eShop STARWHAL (Breakfall, €9.99 / £8.99) - An intense and chaotic multiplayer title, the Wii U version includes an exclusive new 5 player mode. This mode titled "Blastopus" involves players fighting against each other, and adds a fifth player to the action with the assistance of the Wii U GamePad. We found this to be a delight in our STARWHAL review. Whispering Willows (Abstraction Games, €9.99 / £7.99) - A narrative driven 2D adventure that was originally on Ouya, you play as a young girl called Elena who can project her spirit out of her body; it sounds interesting as a concept, but we'll see whether it has the right spirit in our review. Mario Sports Mix (Nintendo, €14.99 / £13.49 until 15th October, then €19.99 / £17.99) - We have another Wii retail game on the eShop, this time with one of the various minigame titles that arrived on the hugely successful little console. This features sports such as Basketball and Ice Hockey, and we had a lot of fun with it back in our Mario Sports Mix review. Wii U Virtual Console Mario Golf (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) - The Nintendo 64 had some excellent multiplayer games and spin-offs, and another arrives on the Wii U in the form of this collection of golfing shenanigans. There are six courses and 10 modes to try out; this was a trailblazer in the genre of podgy mascots showing surprising sporting prowess. We gave this a solid recommendation in our Mario Golf review. Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures (Bandai Namco, €7.99 / £5.49) - A SNES title from the mascots heyday, this is an "innovative interactive cartoon", or at least as far as a game like this can be on 16-bit hardware; this does also include full arcade versions of Pac-Man and Ms Pac-Man, too. We'll gobble this up for a review. Dig Dug II (Bandai Namco, €4.99 / £3.49) - Bandai Namco keeps up its run of retro sequels on the Wii U with this Dig Dug NES entry, which moves the action from underground up to the surface. We'll dig in for a review. Pocky & Rocky With Becky (Natsume, €6.99 / £6.29) - The GBA can't miss out on the Virtual Console goodness either, so Natsume steps up with this action / adventure / shooter; you embark on a quest across seven stages to defeat an evil Hydra Dragon and a army of mythical creatures. We'll bring you a review soon. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Citizens of Earth (Atlus, €4.99 / £4.00 until 22nd October, normally €11.99 / £9.99) Little Inferno (Tomorrow Corporation, €4.99 / £4.49 until 15th October, normally €9.99 / £8.99) 3DS eShop 3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (SEGA, €4.99 / £4.49) - The brilliant M2-developed series of retro SEGA titles given new life on the 3DS continues with this highly regarded Sonic title. When debates are had over the best ever Sonic game this one is normally in the conversation, which at the time added the spin dash to speed the mascot up. We'll check this out and dash into a review. 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Citizens of Earth (Atlus, €4.99 / £4.00 until 22nd October, normally €11.99 / £9.99) Retro City Rampage: DX (Vblank Entertainment, €4.99 / £4.49 until 22nd October, normally €8.99 / £7.99) Secret Agent Files: Miami (Joindots, €5.99 / £4.49 until 22nd October, normally €7.99 / £5.99) Jewel Match 3 (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.99 until 22nd October, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Funfair Party Games (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.69 until 22nd October, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Real Heroes: Firefighter 3D Download Version (Zordix AB, €4.99 / £4.49 until 29th October, normally €9.99 / £8.99) 3DS eShop Permanent Discount Toy Stunt Bike (Wobbly Tooth, €2.99 / £2.99, was €4.99 / £4.49)
  9. This week! From Nintendolife! A load of shite! More light gun games though? Wii U Virtual Console Hogan's Alley (Nintendo, €4.99 / £3.49) - This was a Zapper game on the NES, and like Duck Hunt before it arrives on the Wii U with Remote pointer support, allowing modern gamers to sample the simple joys of light gun shooting. In this one you take on multiple levels shooting at spinning cardboard targets or shoot at tin cans to keep them up in the air; it all sounds pretty simple, but we'll take some shots for a review. Wild Gunman (Nintendo, €4.99 / £3.49) - "You mean you have to use your hands? That's like a baby's toy!" Perhaps more famous for its cameo in Back to the Future: Part Two than as an actual game, this is another NES light gun title given the Wii Remote treatment. We'll head back to the past to bring you a review in the future, or something. Wii U Retail Download Just Dance 2016 (Ubisoft, €44.99 / £29.99) - More dancing shenanigans with some extra weirdness thrown in this year; there is a song about stepping on a Chihuahua, after all. The Wii U version will include support for the subscription-based Just Dance Unlimited (one month free with the purchase), which provides access to new songs and those from the older games. Available from 23rd October. Wii U DLC Just Dance Unlimited 30 day access (Ubisoft, €6.99 / £5.49) Just Dance Unlimited 90 day access (Ubisoft, €14.99 / £11.99) Just Dance Unlimited 365 day access (Ubisoft, €39.99 / £29.99) Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Resident Evil Revelations (Capcom, €9.99 / £7.99 until 5th November, normally €49.99 / £39.99) Bombing Bastards (Sanuk Games, €4.99 / £4.49 until 29th October, normally €6.99 / £5.99) Spot the Differences: Party! (Sanuk Games, €2.99 / £2.69 until 29th October, normally €5.00 / £4.49) Sanatory Hallways (Wegenbartho, €5.99 / £4.99 until 10th November, normally €9.99 / £8.99) 3DS eShop Gunslugs 2 (Engine Software, €4.99 / £4.49) - Originally developed by OrangePixel, this is an intense pixel-based action game with randomly generated levels, pumping music and a notable '80s pop culture vibe. We'll have a review with you prior to launch, but until then you can check out our interview with the publisher and developer. Wizdom (Moving Player, €9.99 / £8.99) - This title seems to blend match-three puzzling with aspects of exploration, with the fantastical plot placing you in the vital role of producing outfits to satisfy demanding clients. It sounds bonkers but could potentially be fun, so we'll check it out in a review. 3DS Retail Download The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes (Nintendo, €39.99 / £34.99) - This spin off utilises the graphics engine and mechanics first seen in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, but shifts the focus to local and online co-op play. The totem mechanic with three players is absolutely vital, while single players need to work with 'doppels' that are switched around on the touch screen. Our review will be with you prior to release, but until then you can check out our full preview.Available from 23rd October. Free HOME Theme - "The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes: Totem Team" - for purchases made before 17th November. 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars (Atlus, €9.99 / £7.40 until 5th November, normally €29.99 / £24.99) Resident Evil Revelations (Capcom, €8.99 / £7.49 until 5th November, normally €29.99 / £24.99) Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D (Capcom, €3.49 / £3.14 until 5th November, normally €9.99 / £8.99) 3D MahJongg (Joindots, €3.99 / £3.59 until 5th November, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Gardenscapes (Joindots, €5.99 / £4.49 until 5th November, normally €7.99 / £5.99) Pazuru (Joindots, €4.49 / £2.99 until 5th November, normally €5.99 / £3.99) 4 Elements (MSL, €2.99 / £2.69 until 19th November, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Azada (MSL, €2.99 / £2.69 until 19th November, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Hidden Expedition Titanic (MSL, €3.99 / £3.59 until 19th November, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Jewel Quest 4 Heritage (MSL, €2.99 / £2.69 until 19th November, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Jewel Quest Mysteries 3 - The Seventh Gate (MSL, €2.99 / £2.69 until 19th November, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Jewel Quest: The Sapphire Dragon (MSL, €4.99 / £4.49 until 19th November, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Luxor (MSL, €2.99 / £2.69 until 19th November, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove (MSL, €3.99 / £3.59 until 19th November, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst (MSL, €4.99 / £4.49 until 19th November, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst (MSL, €4.99 / £4.49 until 19th November, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Secret Mysteries in London (MSL, €2.99 / £2.69 until 19th November, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Balloon Pop Remix (UFO Interactive, €5.59 / £4.99 until 21st November, normally €7.99 / £7.19) Johnny Hotshot (UFO Interactive, €4.19 / £3.77 until 21st November, normally €5.99 / £5.39) Johnny Kung Fu (UFO Interactive, €4.19 / £3.77 until 21st November, normally €5.99 / £5.39) Samurai Sword Destiny (UFO Interactive, €4.19 / £3.77 until 21st November, normally €5.99 / £5.39) Zombie Slayer Diox (UFO Interactive, €4.19 / £3.77 until 21st November, normally €5.99 / £5.39) Castle Conqueror Defender (CIRCLE Entertainment, €3.49 / £2.79 until 12th November, normally €4.99 / £3.99) Demon King Box (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.39 until 12th November, normally €3.99 / £3.19) Quell Memento (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.39 until 12th November, normally €3.99 / £3.19) Fantasy Pirates (EnjoyUp Games, €1.99 / £1.99 until 19th November, normally €4.50 / £4.50) Van Helsing Sniper Zx100 (EnjoyUp Games, €2.99 / £2.99 until 19th November, normally €6.66 / £6.66) Talking Phrasebook - 7 Languages (Sanuk Games, €2.99 / £2.69 until 29th October, normally €4.99 / £4.49) 3DS Demo Castle Conqueror EX (CIRCLE Entertainment, free) Fairune (CIRCLE Entertainment, free) 3DS HOME Themes Ashley's Halloween (Nintendo, €1.99 / £1.79) - Available from 23rd October. 10. Have we all calmed down a bit since last week's Sonic 2 excitement? Of course we haven't. But! It's time to grease yourself up again because THIS WEEK! FROM NINTENDOLIFE! Wii U eShop Momonga Pinball Adventures (Paladin Studios, €5.99 / £4.99) - A twist on pinball that previously appeared on smart devices. There's a story mode with nine levels and three minigames - Panda's Dream in which you float through the sky, the Pachinko-inspired Guachinko, and finally Arena for 'survival-mode pinball'. We'll roll into a review soon. Rakoo & Friends (Moving Player, €9.99 / £8.99) - A blend of racing and adventure with 60 solo levels promised, this version ups its game over the smart device original with the addition of multiplayer; we'll bring you a review, as always. Wicked Monsters Blast! HD Plus (Corecell Technology, €7.99 / £7.19) - This appears to be a HD re-release of Wii retail title Wicked Monsters Blast, which takes the shooting gallery concept and spins it off into multiple mini-games and challenges. We'll see whether this is still harmless fun for the family in our review. Wii U Virtual Console Konami Krazy Racers (Konami, €6.99 / £6.29) - A Game Boy Advance title from an era when all major publishers contemplated mascot-driven kart racers. This one has a pretty cool cast that includes diverse figures such as Goemon, 'Cyber Ninja' from Metal Gear Solid and even Castlevania's Dracula. We'll see whether star power is combined with fun racing in our review. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Rock 'N Racing Off Road (EnjoyUp Games, €2.99 / £2.69 until 5th November, normally €5.99 / £5.39) ZaciSa: Defense of the Crayon Dimensions (ZeNfA Productions, €1.19 / £0.90 until 5th November, normally €2.99 / £2.29) 3DS eShop Ninja Usagimaru – The Gem of Blessings (Arc System Works, €4.99 / £4.49) - A block-based puzzle platformer, this consists of single stages in which you need to manipulate the environment to rescue captured villagers. A simple premise is the foundation of an enjoyable game here, as we explain in our Ninja Usagimaru - The Gem of Blessings review. 3DS Retail Download Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden (Bandai Namco, €39.99 / £29.99) - A fighting game that's enjoyed the demo treatment on 3DS, the key modes are the Story option which follows the original manga, while there's a separate Adventure mode to also take on. Multiplayer will also be a key feature, and we'll have our review with you very soon. Available from 16th October, download includes free theme and copy of SNES title Dragon Ball Z: Super Butoden 2. We'll look closely for a review.
  11. This week, a load of dross. From Nintendolife! The games being dross, I mean. Not Nintendolife. Yeah, even Happy Home Designer. A colon: Wii U eShop 1001 Spikes (Nicalis, €14.99 / £13.49) — It finally arrives after a long wait in Europe, this is a fiendishly challenging platformer in which you have to grab a key and make it to the exit as the difficulty ramps up. This Wii U version features competitive and co-operative multiplayer; we gave this a strong recommendation in our Wii U 1001 Spikes review. Pumped BMX+ (Curve Digital, €8.49 / £6.49 until 15th October, then €9.99 / £7.99) - Originally developed by Yeah Us! - a one-man indie studio - this is a title that draws much of its inspiration from that studio's smartphone title Pumped BMX 2. It challenges gamers to tackle a whole load of courses and pull off plenty of stunts - it looks rather like a blend of Joe Danger and Trials. We'll get working on a review but until then you can check out our hands on impressions. Toto Temple Deluxe (Juicy Beast Studio, €8.99 / £6.99) - A frantic local multiplayer game, in this one you take on three friends in a host of arenas and try to hand onto a goat while the others attempt to steal it. By the looks of it this one's manic and very colourful, and we'll check it out in a review. Race the Sun (Flippfly, €9.99 / £6.99) - With a behind-craft perspective, you fly through varied environments (which randomise daily) and try to avoid obstacles while keeping on track with the Sun. This one's certainly had some critical acclaim on previous versions and is one to watch. Wii U Virtual Console Medabots: Metabee & Rokusho (Natsume, €6.99 / £6.29) - Great news for Medabot fans as both versions of this Game Boy Advance release arrive, in which you customise your own Medabots and battle villains. We'll bring you a review as soon as we can. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Gravity Badgers (Wales Interactive, €2.49 / £2.49 until 19th October, normally €4.99 / £4.99) Spy Chameleon (EnjoyUp Games, €3.99 / £3.59 until 29th October, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Darts Up (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 29th October, normally €2.49 / £2.29) 99Seconds (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 29th October, normally €2.49 / £2.29) Puzzle Monkeys (Log Games, €0.99 / £0.99 /until 22nd October, normally €2.99 / £2.99) 3DS eShop 1001 Spikes (Nicalis, €14.99 / £13.49) — As per the Wii U release above, though this version trades in on-the-go convenience with an absence of multiplayer modes. We gave a hearty recommendation to the 3DS version in our 1001 Spikes review. 3DS Retail Download Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (Nintendo, €39.99 / £34.99) - This spin-off in the hugely popular franchise tasks you with designing properties and their interiors, along with some 'God-like' management abilities with the town. This game also brings the début of amiibo cards, though this download version does come with a free 'Office' HOME Theme. We enjoyed this one's charms despite some shortcomings, and gave it a recommendation in our Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer review. Available from 2nd October. Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden (Bandai Namco, €39.99 / £29.99) - There's been a demo for this one, but the game won't actually be available until 16th October; Nintendo is launching pre-purchases for this on 1st October, allowing you to download most of the game so that you're ready to play at launch. This comes with a download copy of SNES title Dragon Ball Z: Super Butoden 2for your 3DS and a HOME theme, which will also arrive on 16th October. 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Shin Megami Tensei IV (Atlus, €9.99 / £8.99 until 8th October, normally €19.99 / £17.99) Toys vs. Monsters (EnjoyUp Games, €0.99 / £0.99 until 29th October, normally €3.99 / £3.99) Football Up Online (EnjoyUp Games, €1.99 / £1.79 until 29th October, normally €3.99 / £3.59) Darts Up 3D (EnjoyUp Games, €0.99 / £0.89 until 29th October, normally €2.99 / £2.69) Tappingo (CIRCLE Entertainment, €1.99 / £1.69 until 22nd October, normally €2.99 / £2.49) The Legend of Dark Witch (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.99 until 22nd October, normally €3.99 / £3.49) European Conqueror 3D (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.19 until 22nd October, normally €3.99 / £2.99) Crazy Construction (Joindots, €5.59 / £3.99 until 15th October, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Safari Quest (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.99 until 15th October, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Aqua Moto Racing 3D (ZordixAB, €3.99 / £3.59 until 8th October, normally €7.99 / £7.19) Snow Moto Racing 3D (ZordixAB, €5.99 / £5.39 until 8th October, normally €7.99 / £7.19) 3DS eShop Permanent Discount Battleminer (Wobbly Tooth, €4.99 / £4.49, was €7.99 / £5.99) 3DS Retail DLC Senran Kagura 2: Burst (Marvelous Europe, €4.99 / £4.49) 3DS HOME Theme Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer – My Town (Nintendo, €1.99 / £1.79)
  12. This week, from Nintendolife, lots of stuff it seems. Is it any good though? READ ON, ESHOP CHUMS!: Wii U eShop Extreme Exorcism (Ripstone, €12.99 / £9.99 or €11.04 / £8.49 until 23rd October for those with the Nindies@Home demo downloaded) - With a demo previously available as part of the Nindies@Home promotion, this revolves around fast-paced action, with the twist being that when you clear out a crowned ghost in a level the next stage will feature a ghost mimicking your previous moves. As a result each set of stages necessitates good memory, planning and skill to progress. There'll apparently be over 20 weapons, 50 challenges, a story-based mode and local multiplayer options for up to four players. We'll have a review with you before launch. Available from 23rd September. Nova-111 (Curve Digital, €10.99 / £8.99 until 8th October, then €14.99 / £11.99) - Founded by two former Q-Games (the studio behind the PixelJunk series, Star Fox Command, Star Fox 64 3D) staffers - Eddie Lee and Kalin - Nova-111 is a unique fusion of real time strategy and turn-based puzzle-solving. It takes place over 60 levels and involves saving 111 scientists lost in a time vortex. You can upgrade your ship as you go, which will help to deal with the increasingly dangerous alien forces that you encounter. We'll get cracking on a review. The Rivers of Alice: Extended Version (Delirium Studios, €7.99 / £7.19) - This one certainly seems interesting on paper, being pitched as an adventure title that can be tackled at your own pace. Its developer boasts of "beautiful graphics made using watercolours, ink and graphite" and a soundtrack composed by the "indie-rock group, vetusta morla". We'll see how deep the rabbit hole goes in our review. The Quiet Collection (Nostatic Software, €4.49 / £2.99) - This actually includes "four old-school adventure games": Quiet, Please!, Quiet Christmas, Vacation Vexation and Candy, Please!. These titles have previously been released on a mix of iOS, Android, Xbox 360 and Windows Phone, each with their own scenario and rather charming pixel-based visuals. It's a quirky experience which we gave a modest recommendation in our The Quiet Collection review. Brave Tank Hero (Natsume, €5.99 / £4.99) - A Wii U version of a title also arriving on 3DS, for our money this one's sloppy move to the home console makes it a less desirable option, as explained in our Brave Tank Hero review. Rock 'N Racing Off Road DX (EnjoyUp Games, €7.99 / £7.19 or €2.99 / £2.73 for those with the previous release on the same system) - Presumably a slightly beefed up version of Rock 'N Racing Off Road, hence the upgrade discount. We're promised more entertaining and exciting races, with loads of skids, crashes and amazing jumps. Several modes of play are on offer, such as Cup mode, time trial and multi-player with the option of up to 5 Players at a time. We'll take the DX edition for a spin in a review soon, until then you can check out our Rock 'N Racing Off Road review, in which we weren't particularly impressed. Wii U Retail Download Skylanders SuperChargers (Activision, €49.99 / £44.99) - This is the first entry in the hugely popular series to feature Nintendo characters and special amiibo figures, with Donkey Kong and Bowser making appearances. That unique feature aside, this new entry throws in races to shake up the standard franchise gameplay. We'll get charged up for a review. Available from 25th September. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones (Curve Digital, €4.49 / £3.99 until 8th October, normally €13.99 / £12.99) Thomas Was Alone (Curve Digital, €2.49 / £2.20 until 8th October, normally €7.99 / £6.99) Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut (Curve Digital, €3.99 / £2.99 until 8th October, normally €11.99 / £9.99) The Swapper (Curve Digital, €4.99 / £3.99 until 8th October, normally €14.99 / £11.99) OlliOlli (Curve Digital, €3.39 / £2.49 until 8th October, normally €9.99 / £7.99) SDK Paint (HullBreach Studios, €3.39 / £2.99 until 1st October, normally €4.49 / £3.99) Family Tennis SP (Shin'en Multimedia, €3.70 / £2.99 until 15th October, normally €4.99 / £3.99) Suspension Railroad Simulator (Joindots, €7.19 / £5.39 until 8th October, normally €7.99 / £5.99) Wii U eShop Permanent Discount Disney Infinity 2.0: Play Without Limits (€19.99 / £16.49, was €29.99 / £24.99) 3DS eShop Gotcha Racing (Natsume, €5.99 / £4.99) - A top-down driving game that looks rather retro in approach, this adds surprising depth to what could potentially be rather simple gameplay. In order to improve your car (with better parts in three categories) you pick up capsules as you race, and these drops level up along with your car. Plenty of challenges and content is included, and we gave it a strong recommendation in our Gotcha Racing review. Brave Tank Hero (Natsume, €4.99 / £4.49) - This is a 3D action game developed by Arc System Works; across 50 missions you take on other tanks and shoot for high rankings. You can choose from multiple tank types, which is nice, but we felt this was painfully mediocre in our 3DS eShop Brave Tank Hero review. 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Murder on the Titantic (Joindots, €5.99 / £4.49 until 8th October, normally €7.99 / £5.99) 3D Game Collection (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.69 until 8th October, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Urban Trial Freestyle (Tate Multimedia, €1.99 / £1.69 until 8th October, normally €4.99 / £4.49)
  13. This week, from Nintendolife: Wii U eShop Year Walk (Simogo, £6.29 / €6.99) - Grim tales, horrifying creatures and cryptic enigmas await in the dark woods of 19th century Sweden. Find out more about this unique game in our interview with Simogo and Dakko Dakko while we polish off our review. Wii U Virtual Console Mario vs. Donkey Kong (Nintendo, £6.29 / €6.99) - Mario vs. Donkey Kong pits the Nintendo mascot against his old adversary in a unique twist on the platform genre that made them famous. We'll take a look at this Game Boy Advance classic again to see if it's still just as much fun on the Wii U, until then you can check out our Mario vs. Donkey Kong 3DS eShop review. Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis (Nintendo, £8.99 / €9.99) - Take control of the Mini Marios and rescue Pauline from a jealous Donkey Kong. In the first Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Mario was trying to find all the Mini Marios, but this time it's up to them to save the day. Use the touch screen to guide Mini Marios through multiple mind-boggling, obstacle-filled levels to rescue Pauline who was captured once again by Donkey Kong. This is a worthy successor to the GBA original, but one which we have neglected to review! We'll be sure to rectify this over the coming week when we take a look at this again on the Wii U eShop. Tecmo Bowl (TECMO KOEI GAMES, £3.49 / €4.99) - It's 8-bit American Football, which is nice. Not quite the complex, occasionally confusing experience of the modern Madden titles, this has a very limited set of plays — two passing and two running — to deal with. Its simplicity is arguably one of its strengths, and you certainly don't need to be an expert of the sport to enjoy the single player, multiplayer or coaching options. We gave this a recommendation in our 3DS Virtual Console Tecmo Bowl review. 3DS Demo Fantasy Pirates - Join in the adventures of the pirate clan in this free demo. 3DS DLC SENRAN KAGURA 2: Deep Crimson: Hipster (£4.49 / €4.99) - Add-On Content for hipsters Pokémon: Dancing Pikachu! (£2.29 / €2.49) - This fun theme shows a bunch of Pikachu dancing on stage! Scroll the Touch Screen to make them dance and hear their voices. Pokémon: Pikachu's Cry! (£2.29 / €2.49) - This theme is packed with lots of different Pikachu cries that play when starting software, scrolling the Touch Screen and more! Pikachu Set: Dance & Cry (£3.59 / €3.99) - Includes Pokémon: Pikachu's Cry! and Pokémon: Dancing Pikachu! at a reduced price. Pokémon 151: Mewtwo (£1.79 / €1.99) - This theme matches the high-quality designer look of the "Pokémon 151" clothing line, with a few changes. Now including Mew! Special Offers Fit Music for Wii U (O2 GAMES)- €12.90 / £11.90 until 15/10/2015. Blocky Bot (Mobot Studios) - €1.29 / £0.94 until 01/10/2015. Paper Monsters Recut (Mobot Studios) - €3.19 / £2.69 until 01/10/2015. Luv Me Buddies Wonderland (O2 GAMES) - €12.90 / £11.90 until 15/10/2015. Bombing Bastards (Sanuk Games) - €4.99 / £4.49 until 24/09/2015. Spot The Differences: Party! (Sanuk Games) - €2.99 / £2.69 until 24/09/2015. Another World - 20th Anniversary Edition Wii U & 3DS (Digital Lounge) - €3.19 / £2.87 until 24/09/2015. GLORY OF GENERALS (CIRCLE Ent.) - €6.99 / £5.59 until 08/10/2015. Quell Reflect (CIRCLE Ent.) - €2.99 / £2.39 until 08/10/2015. Swords & Soldiers 3D (CIRCLE Ent.) - €5.19 / £4.19 until 08/10/2015. Fractured Soul (Endgame Studios) - €1.99 / £1.79 until 01/10/2015. Talking Phrasebook - 7 Languages (Sanuk Games) - €2.99 / £2.69 until 24/09/2015.
  14. This week! From Nintendolife! Wii U eShop The Swindle (Curve Digital, €12.49 / £9.99 until 24th September, then €14.99 / £11.99) - The first game led by UK designer Dan Marshall to arrive on Nintendo hardware, this employs a quirky cyberpunk London of 1849 setting with randomly generated stages from which to steal cash. There's an overlying 100 day time-limit as you scheme your way around settings to hack computers and make off with the establishment's money, using those funds to buy abilities and unlock new areas. We'll have a review with you before release, but until then you can check out our first impressions and interview with Dan Marshall. Star Sky (JMJ Interactive, €4.00 / £3.60) - This is supposed to be a relaxing game (with several endings) about a man walking through a starlit field, described by the developer as "similar to an interactive poem". We expect it to be pretty chilled out, then, and we'll stroll along towards a review. Wii U Retail Download Super Mario Maker (Nintendo, €39.99 / £34.99) - One of the year's biggest Wii U releases and the showcase for Nintendo's Super Mario 30th Anniversary celebrations, this allows you to create and share 2D Mario levels across four game styles. Packed with clever touches, tools and the ability to produce levels beyond the scope of standard Mario games, along with potentially endless levels to play, we loved this so much that we described it as the "definitive Wii U game" in our Super Mario Maker review. Available from 11th September. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Trine Enchanted Edition (Frozenbyte, €6.49 / £5.49 until 10th October, normally €12.99 / £10.99) Trine 2: Director's Cut (Frozenbyte, €8.49 / £6.99 until 10th October, normally €16.99 / £13.99) TNT Racers - Nitro Machines Edition (Keen Games, €4.99 / £4.49 until 1st October, normally €7.99 / £6.99) 3DS Retail Downloads Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX (SEGA, €39.99 / £29.99) - An Vocaloid-driven IP that's an enormous success in Japan and certainly has fans in the West, it makes its debut on a Nintendo portable. There's a lot to do in this game, from the core experience of rhythm gaming across plenty of entertaining tracks, to outfit and house customisation, and even a terrific Puyo Puyo mode. We gave this a glowing recommendation in our Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX review. Available from 11th September. Etrian Mystery Dungeon (NIS America, €39.99 / £34.99) - Co-developed by Atlus and Spike Chunsoft, this combines the Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon concepts into one package; there's the squad-based approach and game world of the Atlus franchise combined with randomly-generated dungeons to explore. We gave this a strong recommendation in our Etrian Mystery Dungeon review. 3DS Retail DLC Etrian Mystery Dungeon: Find a wanderer for me (NIS America, €1.79 / £1.59) Etrian Mystery Dungeon: Know the Red Pookas (NIS America, €1.79 / £1.59) Etrian Mystery Dungeon: Find a princess for me (NIS America, €1.79 / £1.59) Etrian Mystery Dungeon: Find a landsknecht for me (NIS America, €1.34 / £1.19) Etrian Mystery Dungeon: Slay the Gold Guardians (NIS America, €1.34 / £1.19) 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts AeternoBlade (Corecell, €7.99 / £7.19 until 8th October, normally €14.99 / £13.50) AiRace Speed (QubicGames, €2.39 / £2.10until 8th October, normally €3.49 / £3.10) AiRace Xeno (QubicGames, €1.69 / £1.59until 8th October, normally €2.49 / £2.29) escapeVektor (Nnooo, €3.49 / £ 2.99 until 24th September, normally €6.99 / £5.99) 3DS eShop Demo Samurai Defender (CIRCLE Entertainment, free)
  15. This week from Nintendolife: Wii U Retail Download Devil's Turd (Valhalla Game Studios, 59.99 / £49.99) - This shooter has attracted mixed opinions prior to release, but will aim to make its mark in PAL territories first up. It's a title with bold ambitions of marrying first person shooting with extensive melee combat, with a solo campaign being joined by a hefty online component. We'll bring you our review soon, but in the meantime you can check out oursingle player and multiplayer previews. Disney Infinity 3.0: Play without limits (Disney Interactive, 19.99 / £16.49 until 5th September, normally 29.99 / £24.99) - Due to this game requiring toys and a portal it's being offered at a heavily reduced price on the eShop, a tempting option for those already invested in the series. This is Disney's high profile franchise in the toys-to-life market and features Star Wars and Frozen this year, among other franchises. Available from 28th August. Wii U eShop Q.U.B.E: Director's Cut (Grip Digital, 7.99 / £7.19 until 14th September, normally 9.99 / £8.99) - This first person puzzle title has been a little while coming, and challenges the player to manipulate environments and more in order to make progress. This Director's Cut features an expanded story and a Time Trial mode with online leaderboards; we'll bring you a review soon. Life of Pixel (Super Icon Ltd, 9.99 / £8.99) - This is an intriguing platformer with the premise of each stage representing particular consoles and generations, while revisiting classic games with a backdrop of chiptune music. It delivers in many respects but is flawed with some of its level design, for example - check out our Life of Pixel review for a full lowdown in which we give in a recommendation. Stone Shire (Finger Gun Games, 4.99 / £4.20 until 26th September, normally 7.99 / £7.00) - It's a Minecraft-inspired game on Wii U, which jumped into the North American market ahead of rivals; it's set up as a simple sandbox experience in which you explore and try to survive. Though updates are a reality with this one, we were unimpressed in our Stone Shire review. It's a divisive franchise that doesn't appeal to all gamers, but will make its way onto the system nevertheless. We had an interesting chat with Producer Kenichirō Takaki at E3. 3DS Retail DLC Senran Kakuara 2: Deep Crimson Additional Character - Murasame (Marvelous Europe, 4.99 / £4.49) 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars (Atlus, 14.99 / £13.49 until 3rd September, normally 29.99 / £24.99) Turtle Tale (Saturnine Games, 1.99 / £1.65 until 17th September, normally 2.99 / £2.49) Van Helsing sniper Zx100 (EnjoyUp Games, 2.99 / £2.99 until 24th September, normally 6.66 / £6.66) Fantasy Pirates (EnjoyUp Games, 1.99 / £1.99 until 24th September, normally 4.50 / £4.50) Football Up 3D (EnjoyUp Games, 1.99 / £1.79 until 24th September, normally 2.99 / £2.36) Tiny Games - Knights & Dragons (REACTOR, 1.99 / £1.69 until 10th September, normally 2.99 / £2.49) Mystery Case Files Ravenhearst (MSL, 4.99 / £4.49 until 24th September, normally 11.99 / £10.79) Mystery Case Files Dire Grove (MSL, 3.99 / £3.59 until 24th September, normally 11.99 / £10.79) Hidden Expedition Titanic (MSL, 3.99 / £3.59 until 24th September, normally 11.99 / £10.79) 4 Elements (MSL, 2.99 / £2.69 until 24th September, normally 12.00 / £10.79) Jewel Quest 4 Heritage (MSL, 2.99 / £2.69 until 24th September, normally 11.99 / £10.79) Jewel Quest The Sapphire Dragon (MSL, 4.99 / £4.49 until 24th September, normally 11.99 / £10.79) Jewel Quest Mysteries 3 - The Seventh Gate (MSL, 2.99 / £2.69 until 24th September, normally 11.99 / £10.79) Luxor (MSL, 2.99 / £2.69 until 24th September, normally 11.99 / £10.79) Secret Mysteries in London (MSL, 2.99 / £2.69 until 24th September, normally 11.99 / £10.79) Azada (MSL, 2.99 / £2.69 until 24th September, normally 11.99 / £10.79)
  16. This week, as always, from Nintendolife: Wii U eShop The Bridge (The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild, €9.99 / £8.99) - An intriguing puzzle title long on the wishlists of some, this has been critically acclaimed on PC in particular. In addition to an eye-catching visual design its puzzles play around with perception and gravity; we'll bring you a review soon. ZaciSa: Defense of the Crayon Dimensions! (ZeNfA Productions, €1.49 / £1.14 until 27th August, then €2.99 / £2.29) - In comparison to the original release in North America - which will have its own update with extra content - this European version will have "several new maps, game modes, weapons, enemies, online leaderboard, Miiverse integration, stable 60 FPS gameplay and more additions". We were fairly critical in our original review, though those on the fence can consider whether the low price and subsequent updates increase its appeal. Wii U Virtual Console Wario: Master of Disguise (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) - The latest DS game to make its way to the Wii U, in this case a quirky combination of platformer and mini-games as Wario plays the thief in 'TV episodes'. While it may sound like a fun idea, we slammed this for multiple issues in our originalWario: Master of Disguise review. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Rock Zombie (EnjoyUp Games, €3.99 / £3.59 until 17th September, normally €6.99 / £6.29) 99Moves (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 17th September, normally €2.49 / £2.29) Abyss (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 17th September, normally €1.99 / £1.79) 3DS eShop 3D Gunstar Heroes (SEGA, €4.99 / £4.49) - An iconic Mega Drive release gets the treatment from M2, with this one being one of the games that established Treasure as an elite arcade-style developer. This colourful run-and-gun game has additional options such as double life and Mega Life to help players reach the end, in addition to local multiplayer. We'll dive in to bring you a review. Cube Creator 3D (Big John Games, €7.50 / £5.25) - This aims to satisfy two camps in the world of Minecraft-style experiences - in Survival Mode you do the usual exploring, crafting and fighting to stay alive. Creation Mode allows you to create your own worlds and share screens via Miiverse, with various environments to mess around with. It's had some updates since originally launching in North America, and we gave this a recommendation in our Cube Creator 3D review. 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Aqua Moto Racing 3D (Zordix AB, €5.59 / £4.99 until 3rd September, normally €7.99 / £7.19) Real Heroes: Firefighter 3D Download Version (Zordix AB, €6.99 / £6.29 until 3rd September, normally €9.99 / £8.99) Snow Moto Racing 3D (Zordix AB, €5.59 / £4.99 until 3rd September, normally €7.99 / £7.19) 2 Fast 4 Gnomz (QubicGames, €2.99 / £2.69 until 17th September, normally €4.99 / £4.49) 3DS eShop Permanent Discount Hazumi (Gamelion, €2.69 / £1.99, was €3.99 / £3.20) 3DS eShop Demo Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX (SEGA, free) I Love My Cats (Bigben Interactive, free)
  17. Pretty crap week this week, from Nintendolife: Wii U eShop Beatbuddy (Threaks, €8.99 / £8.09) - With its title shortened in Europe, this is a music action-adventure game that has an emphasis on rhythm — some moves and key moments need to be timed to the beat. It includes music contributions from Austin Wintory — composer of the Journeyofficial soundtrack — among many others; we're keen to give this a go, and we'll let you know what we think in a review soon. Available from 5th August. Sanatory Hallways (Wegenbartho, €9.99 / £8.99) - At its core this is a two-player experience, with one character being a flashlight-armed girl trying to escape her nightmare and another playing a ghost tasked with tormenting her, with the spirit being able to set up traps, turn off electricity and more. With additional levels coming in the future as free DLC this sounds intriguing, but we'll see whether it scares us off in a review. Wii U Virtual Console Star Fox Command (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) - This DS entry in the iconic series is a little different from its contemporaries, splitting play between tactical battles on the touchscreen and free roaming battles. With plenty of characters and multiple endings this offers a lot of content, though as expected the multiplayer modes are a no-go. We gave this a modest recommendation in our Star Fox Command review. Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) - A DS successor to GBA title DK: King of Swing, this utilises the shoulder buttons for you to swing your way between pegs, collecting items and tackling foes as you go. Gameplay is shaken up with a few quirks, while multiplayer is also included (and will hopefully feature here as it was a local one-cart feature); we'll swing into another review, but in the meantime you can check out our original recommendation of this game. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones (Curve Digital, €6.99 / £5.99 until 27th August, normally €13.99 / £12.99) High Strangeness (Midnight City, €4.99 / £4.49 until 9th August, normally €9.99 / £8.99) Angry Bunnies: Colossal Carrot Crusade (Cypronia, €3.14 / £2.69 until 5th September, normally €6.99 / £5.99) Cake Ninja 3: The Legend Continues (Cypronia, €3.69 / £3.33 until 5th September, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Color Zen (Cypronia, €2.24 / £2.24 until 5th September, normally €2.99 / £2.99) Color Zen Kids (Cypronia, €2.24 / £2.24 until 5th September, normally €2.99 / £2.99) My Style Studio: Hair Salon (Cypronia, €3.74 / £3.35 until 5th September, normally €4.99 / £4.49) My Style Studio: Notebook (Cypronia, €2.39 / £2.15 until 5th September, normally €2.99 / £2.69) 99Seconds (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 3rd September, normally €2.49 / £2.29) Darts Up (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 3rd September, normally €2.49 / £2.29) Rock 'N Racing Off Road (EnjoyUp Games, €3.99 / £3.59 until 3rd September, normally €5.99 / £5.39) 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Brunch Panic (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.49 until 27th August, normally €3.99 / £3.39) KAMI (CIRCLE Entertainment, €1.99 / £1.59 until 27th August, normally €2.99 / £2.39) Sweet Memories Blackjack (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.39 until 27th August, normally €3.99 / £3.19) Angry Bunnies (Cypronia, €4.49 / £3.99 until 5th September, normally €6.49 / £5.99) Bubble Pop World (Cypronia, €3.74 / £3.35 until 5th September, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Color Zen (Cypronia, €2.54 / £2.54 until 5th September, normally €2.99 / £2.99) Color Zen Kids (Cypronia, €2.24 / £2.24 until 5th September, normally €2.99 / £2.99) Fishdom H2O: Hidden Odyssey (Cypronia, €3.99 / £3.59 until 5th September, normally €4.99 / £4.49) My Style Studio: Hair Salon (Cypronia, €3.74 / £3.35 until 5th September, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Darts Up 3D (EnjoyUp Games, €0.99 / £0.89 until 3rd September, normally €2.99 / £ 2.69) Dress to Play: Cute Witches! 18. This week, froHOLY SHIT PICROSS e6!m Nintendolife: Wii U eShop BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition (Frogmind, €9.99 / £8.99 until 13th August, then €11.99 / £10.79) - A stylish and promising release, this is a sidescrolling flying title which is part action and puzzle solving depending on the scenario. With new controls and HD visuals over the previous smart device version, the new edition also promises over 15 hours and 100 levels of single-player story content, 100 co-op levels, and 27 multiplayer deathmatch stages. We'll see whether it truly takes flight in our review. Wii U Retail Download Legend of Kay Anniversary (Nordic Games, €29.99 / £19.99 ) - A remaster of a fondly remember PS2 title, this promises new HD detail, leaderboards and 60fps performance, all for a budget retail price. We'll work on a review to see whether this is a worthy 10th Anniversary celebration. Available on 28th July. Wii U Retail Demo Just Dance 2016 (Ubisoft, free) Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Elliot Quest (PlayEveryWare, €10.99 / £8.00 until 13th August, normally €12.99 / £9.49) TNT Racers - Nitro Machines Edition (Keen Games, €4.99 / £4.49 until 13th August, normally €7.99 / £6.99) 3DS eShop PICROSS e6 (Jupiter, €5.00 / £4.50) - This series of quality puzzle titles keeps on going, with this one said to include over 300 puzzles. The formula is likely to be the same as its predecessors, but we'll give it a whirl for a review. Flick Golf 3D (Full Fat Productions, €4.99 / £4.49) - Hugely popular on smartphones, this touch-based arcade-style golfing now makes its way to the 3DS. There are three different modes to match your mood or time limitations, with simple gameplay that's designed to be addictive; we'll get into the swing of it for review, but until then you can check out our first impressions from earlier this year. 3DS Retail Download Lucky Luke & The Daltons (Anuman Interactive, €29.99 / £24.99) 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Tomodachi Life (Nintendo, €27.99 / £24.49 until 6th August, normally €39.99 / £34.99) Bit Boy!! ARCADE (BPlus, €0.99 / £0.89 until 27th August, normally €7.99 / £7.19) PUZZLEBOX Setup (BPlus, €0.99 / £0.89 until 27th August, normally €2.99 / £2.69) Code of Princess (Agatsuma, €14.95 / £12.49 until 13th August, normally €29.99 / £24.99) Sayonara UmiharaKawase (Agatsuma, €12.40 / £9.99 until 13th August, normally €24.99 / £19.99) Castle Conqueror Defender (CIRCLE Entertainment, €3.49 / £2.79 until 20th August, normally €4.99 / £3.99) Demon King Box (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.39 until 20th August, normally €3.99 / £3.19) Quell Memento (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.39 until 20th August, normally €3.99 / £3.19) 3DS HOME Themes The Magic Unicorn (Sanrio, €0.99 / £0.89) Hello Kitty and friends (Sanrio, €0.99 / £0.89) Cupido (Sanrio, €0.99 / £0.89) Blu Bubbles (Sanrio, €0.99 / £0.89) Hello Kitty Little Princess (Sanrio, €0.99 / £0.89) Hello Kitty Bundle (Sanrio, €3.99 / £2.84)
  19. As always, from Nintendolife: Wii U eShop Canvaleon (OXiAB Game Studio, €11.95 / £10.80 until 6th August, then €13.95 / £12.59) - This is a promising 2D platformer / adventure title with a neat twist; beyond what looks like standard play you 'paint' your hero different colours to effectively camouflage them against the backdrop. Over 30 stages are promised, so we'll blend in and get working on a review. Blocky Bot (Mobot Studios, €2.69 / £1.89) - A developer perhaps better known for sizeable download projects, this is the studios' contribution to the wave of budget titles on the Wii U eShop. It's a simple platformer that, importantly, has a sense of style, quality and fun to it - we gave this a strong recommendation in our Blocky Bot review. Wii U Virtual Console Yoshi Touch & Go (Nintendo, €6.99 / £6.29) - An early DS game, this went all out to incorporate the Yoshi's Island style with the (at the time) unique inputs of the dual screened system. You use the stylus and microphone to tap, draw and blow in order to guide Yoshi and Baby Mario through each stage. We felt that the passing of time had taken the edge off its innovations in our Yoshi Touch & Go review. 3DS eShop 3D Streets of Rage 2 (Sega, €4.99 / £ 4.49) - As gamers of a certain age that are also big fans of retro Sega, the 3D series developed by M2 continues to press all the buttons of some of our team. This release is particularly exciting for your humble writer, who regards this as a true tour-de-force in beat-em up action, now on the 3DS in lovely 3D. We'll crack some skulls and bring you a review soon. Ninja Battle Heroes (Tom Create, €1.99 / £1.79) - A stylish and somewhat cute action title, you wield a katana, fling some throwing stars and wreak havoc in this 2D game. A fast-paced beat-em up at a budget price, this gets a lot right - we gave this a strong recommendation in our Ninja Battle Heroes review. Mercenaries Saga 2 (CIRCLE Entertainment, €4.99 / £3.99) - This seems like a title inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics, looking almost identical to Square Enix's legendary turn-based strategy title, incorporating the same isomeric view and very similar animation; that's not necessarily a bad thing. We're still questing through this for review. 3DS Retail Download I Love My Cats (Bigben Interactive, €24.99 / £19.99) - We imagine this is rather like I Love My Dogs, but with cats. It's all in the title. 3DS Temporary Discounts Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (Capcom, €29.99 / £24.99 until 30th July if you've downloaded Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Special Demo Version with the same Nintendo Network ID - normally €44.99 / £39.99) Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars (Atlus, €14.99 / £13.49 until 30th July, normally €29.99 / £24.99) Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX (Akaoni Studio, €4.99 / £4.49 until 21st August, normally €7.00 / £6.30)
  20. This week, from Nintendolife, I'll be buying the arse out of Shantae: Wii U eShop Never Alone (E-Line Media, €14.99 / £12.99 ) - A puzzle platformer playable in single player or two player co-op, this follows the adventures of Iñupiaq girl Nuna and her companion, an Arctic fox, as they attempt to find the source of the "eternal blizzard". This is full of rich history that's wonderfully presented, but we feel that there are notable design and technical issues with this Wii U version - check out our Never Alone review for details. Funk of Titans (EnjoyUp Games, $8.99) - Developed by studio A Crowd of Monsters, not an actual crowd of monsters, this platformer splits over 40 levels across three worlds: Pop, Rap, and Rock. To quote a press release directly, you "show those jive-turkey Pagan Titans why funk is the music of the Gods! Funk-Fu for the win!" Unfortunately we weren't feeling it in our Funk of Titans review. Wii U Virtual Console Mega Man Battle Network 4 Red Sun & Blue Moon (Capcom, €6.99 / £6.29) -The latest entry (in two variations) of this RPG spin-off series that graced the Game Boy Advance. This time around Lan and Mega Man have to worry about an asteroid heading to Earth and a NetNavi threatening the network, which sounds like a tough day at the office. We gave this a strong recommendation in our Mega Man Battle Network 4 review. Wii U eShop 'Epic Indie Sale' The offers in this promotion are applicable if you already own one or more of these Wii U eShop downloads on your system. BIT.TRIP Presents: Runner 2 Future Legend of Rhythm Alien (Choice Provisions, €4.79 / £3.99 until 23rd July, normally €11.99 / £9.99) EDGE (Two Tribes, €0.79 / £0.71 until 23rd July, normally €1.99 / £1.79) Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams (Black Forest Games, €5.99 / £5.19 until 23rd July, normally €14.99 / £12.99) Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition (Drinkbox Studios, €5.59 / £4.79 until 23rd July, normally €13.99 / £11.99) Mighty Switch Force! 2 (WayForward, €2.00 / £2.00 until 23rd July, normally €5.00 / £5.00) Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition (WayForward, €3.99 / £3.59 until 23rd July, normally €9.99 / £8.99) RUSH (Two Tribes, €0.79 / £0.71until 23rd July, normally €1.99 / £1.79) Shantae and the Pirate's Curse (WayForward, €6.79 / £6.39 until 23rd July, normally €16.99 / £15.99) Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party (KnapNok Games, €3.59 / £3.20 until 23rd July, normally €8.99 / £8.00) Swords & Soldiers (Two Tribes, €1.19 / £0.99 until 23rd July, normally €2.99 / £2.69) Toki Tori (Two Tribes, €0.79 / £0.69 until 23rd July, normally €1.99 / £1.79) Toki Tori 2 + (Two Tribes, €5.99 / £5.19 until 23rd July, normally €14.99 / £12.99) Trine 2: Director's Cut (Frozenbyte, €6.79 / £5.39 until 23rd July, normally €16.99 / £13.99) Trine Enchanted Edition (Frozenbyte, €5.19 / £4.39 until 23rd July, normally €12.99 / £10.99) Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Spot the Differences: Party! (Sanuk Games, €2.99 / £2.69 until 16th July, normally €5.00 / £4.49) Bombing Bastards (Sanuk Games, €4.99 / £4.49 until 16th July, normally €6.99 / £5.99) 3DS eShop Bike Rider DX2: Galaxy (Spicysoft, €2.99 / £2.69) — It's taken longer than we expected to arrive in Europe, but this sequel to the rather popular bike / runner original is finally pedalling into view. This incorporates wackier areas and some fun power-ups, and we gave it a hearty recommendation in our Bike Rider DX2: Galaxy review. 3DS eShop DLC Bike Rider DX2: Galaxy: Append Stage [Moon] (Spicysoft, free) Bike Rider DX2: Galaxy: Append Stage [Ex] (Spicysoft, €0.99 / £0.89) Bike Rider DX2: Galaxy: Append Stage [Tatsujin] (Spicysoft, €0.99 / £0.89) 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Talking Phrasebook - 7 Languages (Sanuk Games, €2.99 / £2.69 until 16th July, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Snow Moto Racing 3D (Zordix AB, €3.99 / £3.59 until 23rd July, normally €7.99 / £7.19)
  21. As usual, from Nintendolife: Wii U eShop Roving Rogue (Padaone Games, €7.99 / £7.19) - This joins the run of retro-styled platformers on the Wii U, in this case including a co-op experience with plenty of running, jumping and teleporting. With 42 levels this promises much, and we'll see whether it hits its targets or goes rogue in our review. Wii U Virtual Console The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) - Widely acknowledged as one of the finest games of all time, this Nintendo 64 classic makes its way to the Wii U; the iconic adventure title has previously had re-releases on the GameCube and Wii Virtual Console, in addition to its 3DS remaster. A true great in its genre, we gave this a perfect score in our Wii Virtual Console review back in 2007. This is the European version of the game with corrected aspect ratio. Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) - The first entry in the strategy series on DS, and it's also a remake of the very first NES game that didn't make it to the West. Another member of the rich RPG and strategy tradition on the last-gen handheld, we gave this a solid recommendation in our original Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon review. Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising (Nintendo, €6.99 / £6.29) - This gives us our Game Boy Advance fix for the week, continuing Intelligent Systems' excellent warfare strategy series. Picking up directly from the first game, this entry introduces new units and strategies into the formula; we'll get onto the battlefield to bring you a review. Wii U Retail Download LEGO Jurassic World (WB Games, €49.99/ £34.99) - The delay to this Wii U release in Europe was never fully explained beyond 'supply' issues from retailers, but in any case the HD iteration of this title arrives on the eShop on 30th June in mainland Europe and 3rd July in the UK. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts SDK Paint (HullBreach Studios, €3.39 / £2.99 until 9th July, normally €4.49 / £3.99) Ittle Dew (Ludosity, €4.99 / £4.49 until 30th July, normally €9.99 / £8.99) 3DS eShop Shingeki no Kyojin: Humanity in Chains (Atlus, €29.99 / £34.99) - Better known as Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains, this retail title comes to Europe as an eShop-only release, though the localisation is certainly great news for fans of the hit anime show. This surreal title has some exciting combat yet also has its shares of niggles and rough edges; nevertheless we gave it a recommendation in our comprehensive Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains review. Mighty Gunvolt (Inti Creates, €3.49 / £3.19) - This is a retro-styled throwback with simple run and gun gameplay reminiscent of a certain Capcom franchise. Available for free with Azure Striker Gunvolt until 2nd July, this is the less expensive option for those that only want this smaller release; we gave it a strong recommendation in our Mighty Gunvolt review. Fantasy Pirates (EnjoyUp Games, €1.99 / £1.99) - Another entry from the prolific Spanish publisher / developer, this is a 15-stage adventure in which you navigate your pirate boat with 360-degree movement to find treasure and sink rivals; it's also promising a 1 vs. 1 online mode. We'll take to the seas for a review. Karous -The Beast of Re:Eden- (CIRCLE Entertainment, €5.99 / £4.79) - A vertically scrolling shmup out of Japan, this puts you in charge of a mech in which you obliterate many waves of enemies across plenty of levels. Unfortunately its attempts at plot fall short and are only backed up by mediocre gameplay; you can get the full lowdown in our Karous -The Beast of Re:Eden- review. 3DS Retail Downloads The Smurfs (Ubisoft, €19.99 / £17.99) Paddington: Adventures in London (Anuman, €29.99 / £24.99) YAKARI: The Mystery of Four-Seasons (Anuman, €29.99 / £24.99) 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies (Capcom, €13.99 / £11.19 until 16th July, normally €24.99 / £19.99) Tappingo (CIRCLE Entertainment, €1.99 / £1.69until 23rd July, normally €2.99 / £2.49) Secrets of the Titanic 1912-2012 (Avanquest, €2.99 / £1.99 until 16th July, normally €10.99 / £9.99) Hotel Transylvania (Avanquest, €4.99 / £4.99 until 16th July, normally €19.99 / £17.99) Doodle Jump Adventures (Avanquest, €4.99 / £4.99 until 16th July, normally €24.99 / £19.99) Jewel Quest: The Sapphire Dragon (MSL, €4.99 / £4.49 until 30th July, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Jewel Quest Mysteries 3 - The Seventh Gate (MSL, €2.99 / £2.69 until 30th July, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst (MSL, €4.99 / £4.49 until 30th July, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst (MSL, €4.99 / £4.49 until 30th July, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Hidden Expedition: Titanic (MSL, €3.99 / £3.59 until 30th July, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove (MSL, €3.99 / £3.59 until 30th July, normally €11.99 / £10.79) 4 Elements (MSL, €2.99 / £2.69 until 30th July, normally €12.00 / £10.79) Luxor (MSL, €2.99 / £2.69 until 30th July, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Jewel Quest 4 Heritage (MSL, €2.99 / £2.69 until 30th July, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Secret Mysteries in London (MSL, €2.99 / £2.69 until 30th July, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Azada (MSL, €2.99 / £2.69 until 30th July, normally €11.99 / £10.79) Toy Stunt Bike (Wobbly Tooth, €2.49 / £2.25 until 30th July, normally €4.99 / £4.49) 3D Game Collection (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.69 until 16th July, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Funfair Party Games (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.69 until 16th July, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Gardenscapes (Joindots, €5.99 / £4.49 until 16th July, normally €7.99 / £5.99) Jewel Match 3 (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.99 until 16th July, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Safari Quest (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.99 until 16th July, normally €6.99 / £4.99) European Conqueror 3D (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.39 until 23rd July, normally €3.99 / £3.19) The Legend of Dark Witch - Chronicle 2D ACT (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.39 until 23rd July, normally €3.99 / £3.19) Football Up 3D (EnjoyUp Games, €1.99 / £1.79 until 30th July, normally €2.99 / £2.36)
22. This week, from Nintendolife, FUCKING GARFIELD KART HELL YES: Wii U eShop Shiftlings (Activision, €14.99 / £13.99) - A rather flashy co-op platformer that previously arrived on PC, this features two alien brothers that need to tackle a whole load of puzzle-based levels; they're tethered together and alternate between being inflated and being fully mobile. This can be played solo or in two player co-op, and we'll let you know what we think in a review. Cube Life: Island Survival (Cypronia, €6.99 / £5.39) - This is a block-building survival game, so is naturally inspired by the Minecraft phenomenon. The Survival mode features the exploration, forging and survival aspects familiar in the genre, while Creative mode lets you generate structures that can be shared on Miiverse. Despite some design flaws we thought this deserved a recommendation in our Cube Life: Island Survival review. Wii U Virtual Console Dr Kawashima's BRAIN TRAINING: How Old is Your Brain? (Nintendo, €6.99 / £6.29) - An iconic DS title that did much to define and popularise the 'TOUCH! Generation' range on the DS, you can now tackle its challenges and give your brain a workout on Wii U. It was actually available for free (for a spell) last year, so you can check out our Dr Kawashima's BRAIN TRAINING: How Old is Your Brain? review for a lowdown. Kirby: Mouse Attack (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) - Known as 'Squeak Squad' in North America, this gave the DS a more conventional Kirby platformer, albeit with some touch controls thrown in for good measure. Though a little bit on the short side and playing it safe, we gave this one a recommendation in our original Kirby: Mouse Attack review. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) - From those simple times when Nintendo liked to put '64' at the end of titles, or fans would regardless of whether it was supposed to be there, this is a 2D platform rendered in chunky N64 polygons. We'll take another look, but we were disappointed with this in our original review back in 2008. Wii U Retail Download Yoshi's Woolly World (Nintendo, €39.99 / £34.99) - The latest cute platformer from Good-Feel, this brings Yoshi and chums into a soft, cuddly environment in which to run and jump. With plenty of amiibo support, co-op, transformations and some delightful moments, this is a platformer that's been on some wishlists since its first conceptual reveal two years ago; our review will be with you very soon. Available from 26th June. Art Academy: Atelier (Nintendo, €29.99 / £24.99 or €26.00 / £21.40 with Art Academy: SketchPad on the same Wii U system) - The first home console Art Academy title, this takes advantage of the sizeable touch screen on the Wii U GamePad to deliver an exceptional drawing experience. There are lessons to help newcomers learn the craft, while online sharing options thankfully step up a notch with YouTube uploads and Miiverse. We gave this a glowing recommendation in our Art Academy: Atelier review. Available from 26th June. Wii U eShop Promotion - Yoshi's Woolly World Download Yoshi's Woolly World on the eShop and receive a free code for Yoshi Touch & Go - deal available until 23rd July, code valid until 20th August. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Paper Monsters Recut (Mobot Studios, €3.29 / £2.79 until 2nd July, normally €6.49 / £5.49) Knytt Underground (Ripstone, €4.49 / £3.99 until 2nd July, normally €8.99 / £7.99) Pure Chess (Ripstone, €2.99 / £2.49 until 2nd July, normally €5.99 / £4.99) Stick It To The Man (Ripstone, €3.99 / £3.49 until 2nd July, normally €7.99 / £6.99) Puzzle Monkeys (Log Games, €1.49 / £1.49 until 23rd July, normally €2.99 / £2.99) 3DS eShop Tappingo 2 (Goodbye Galaxy Games, €2.99 / £2.39) — The sequel to the popular puzzle game that applies its own take on the genre, applying a spin to Picross-style principles. This new entry features over 100 new puzzles and a welcome zoom option to assist with larger images; we gave this a strong recommendation in our Tappingo 2 review. 3DS Retail Download Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 (Koei Tecmo, €39.99 / £29.99) - A surprising localisation in light of the first sequel skipping the West, but nevertheless welcome for fans of Koei's frantic action games that also want a little more strategy. In addition to historical battling this looks set to offer plenty of content, with challenge modes and online rankings among the additional features. Garfield Kart (Anuman Interactive, €29.99 / £24.99) 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Shin Megami Tensei IV (Atlus, €9.99 / £8.99 until 2nd July, normally €19.99 / £17.99) Pure Chess (Ripstone, €2.99 / £2.49 until 2nd July, normally €5.99 / £4.99) Van Helsing sniper Zx100 (EnjoyUp Games, €3.49 / £3.49 until 19th July, normally €6.66 / £6.66) Aqua Moto Racing 3D (Zordix AB, €3.99 / £3.39 until 2nd July, normally €7.99 / £7.19) 3DS Retail DLC Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Edit Parts 1 (Koei Tecmo, €3.99 / £3.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Edit Parts 2 (Koei Tecmo, €5.99 / £5.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Edit Parts 3 (Koei Tecmo, €6.99 / £6.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Edit Parts 4 (Koei Tecmo, €6.99 / £6.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Edit Parts 5 (Koei Tecmo, €6.99 / £6.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Edit Parts Set (Koei Tecmo, €21.99 / £21.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Special Edit Parts 1 (Koei Tecmo, €0.99 / £0.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Special Edit Parts 2 (Koei Tecmo, free until 22nd July, then €0.99 / £0.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Mount Pack 1 (Koei Tecmo, €1.99 / £1.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Mount Pack 2(Koei Tecmo, €1.99 / £1.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Mount Pack Set (Koei Tecmo, €2.99 / £2.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Old Costumes 1 (Koei Tecmo, €2.99 / £2.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Old Costumes 2(Koei Tecmo, €1.99 / £1.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Old Costumes 3 (Koei Tecmo, €1.99 / £1.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Old Costumes 4 (Koei Tecmo, €1.99 / £1.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Old Costumes Set (Koei Tecmo, €6.99 / £6.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Special Costumes 1 (Koei Tecmo, €7.99 / £7.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Special Costumes 2(Koei Tecmo, €7.99 / £7.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Special Costumes 3(Koei Tecmo, €7.99 / £7.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Special Costumes 4(Koei Tecmo, €7.99 / £7.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Special Costumes 5(Koei Tecmo, €3.99 / £3.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Special Costumes Set(Koei Tecmo, €29.99 / £29.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra BGM Set (Koei Tecmo, €2.99 / £2.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra Scenario Set (Koei Tecmo, €4.99 / £4.99) Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3: Extra BGM Set (Koei Tecmo, €2.99 / £2.99)
  23. This week (excluding those Nindie@Home demos and E3 surprises - I'm gonna say Earthbound Beginnings), from Nintendolife: Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Citizens of Earth (Atlus, €6.99 / £6.29 until 25th June, normally €11.99 / £9.99) Cocoto Magic Circus 2 (Bigben Interactive, free until 2nd July if Cocoto Alien Brick Breaker is owned on the same account) Another World - 20th Anniversary Edition (The Digital Lounge, €3.19 / £2.87 until 16th July, normally €7.99 / £7.19) TNT Racers - Nitro Machines Edition (Keen Games, €4.99 / £4.49 until 2nd July, normally €7.99 / £6.99) Gravity Badgers (Wales Interactive, €2.49 / £2.49 until 16th July, normally €4.99 / £4.99) Ice Cream Surfer (Dolores Ent., €2.50 / £2.20 until 2nd July, normally €5.00 / £4.49) Suspension Railroad Simulator (Joindots, €7.19 / £5.39 until 2nd July, normally €7.99 / £5.99) 3DS eShop Xeodrifter (Renegade Kid, €8.99 / £7.99) - The latest pixel-based title from Renegade Kid on 3DS, this is an exploration adventure title in which you explore four different planets in a bid to grab resources that'll repair your ship's warp core. There's a clear Metroidvania inspiration and some varied gameplay, with this title being produced in an impressively short time - we were fans of this in our Xeodrifter review. Comic Workshop 2 (Collavier, €4.79 / £4.29 if you own Comic Workshop, otherwise €7.99 / £7.19) - Promising more responsive controls, new tools, better image quality and a plethora of other enhancements over the original, Comic Workshop 2 looks to be an excellent jumping-on point for veteran artists and newcomers alike. We'll sketch out a review soon. 3DS Retail Download Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley (Rising Star Games, €39.99 / £34.99) - The latest entry in the much-loved series finally arrives in Europe, with this entry incorporating plenty of customisation and freedom in shaping the land. It strays from various series conventions, in our view unsuccessfully so; we were critical of this in our Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley review. My Zoo Vet Practice 3D (Treva Entertainment, €29.99 / £24.99 ) - The name receives a perfect 10 for describing the game within, as this is a sim in which you manage and care for a wide range of exotic animals in a zoo. We expect plenty of touch screen usage and busy work, and we'll let you know how whether it's a worthy attraction or should be closed down in our review. 3DS Retail DLC Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley: New Outfit Set 1 (Rising Star Games, free) Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley: New Outfit Set 2 (Rising Star Games, free) Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley: Building Set 1 (Rising Star Games, free) Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley: Building Set 2 (Rising Star Games, free) 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Citizens of Earth (Atlus, €6.99 / £6.29 until 25th June, normally €11.99 / £9.99) Cocoto Alien Brick Breaker (Bigben Interactive, free until 2nd July if Cocoto Magic Circus 2 is owned on the same account) Glory of Generals (CIRCLE Ent, €6.99 / £5.59 until 9th July, normally €9.99 / £7.99) Quell Reflect (CIRCLE Ent, €2.99 / £2.39 until 9th July, normally €3.99 / £3.19) Swords & Soldiers 3D (CIRCLE Ent, €4.99 / £4.19 until 9th July, normally €6.99 / £5.59) Cubit The Hardcore Platformer Robot (Coderchild, €1.99 / £1.80 until 16th July, normally €2.99 / £2.69) Zombie Incident (Coderchild, €1.49 / £1.35 until 16th July, normally €1.99 / £1.99) Another World - 20th Anniversary Edition (The Digital Lounge, €3.19 / £2.87 until 16th July, normally €7.99 / £7.19) 10-in-1: Arcade Collection (Gamelion, €0.99 / £0.89 until 16th July, normally €1.99 / £1.79) Crazy Kangaroo (Gamelion, €0.99 / £0.89 until 16th July, normally €1.99 / £1.89) Hazumi (Gamelion, €1.99 / £1.60 until 16th July, normally €3.99 / £3.20) League of Heroes (Gamelion, €1.99 / £1.79 until 16th July, normally €3.99 / £3.59) Monster Shooter (Gamelion, €1.99 / £1.60 until 16th July, normally €4.00 / £3.20) Pick-A-Gem (Gamelion, €1.49 / £1.29 until 16th July, normally €2.99 / £2.69) Rage of the Gladiator (Gamelion, €3.49 / £3.09 until 16th July, normally €6.99 / £6.29) SpeedX 3D (Gamelion, €1.49 / £1.29 until 16th July, normally €2.99 / £2.69) SpeedX 3D Hyper Edition (Gamelion, €0.99 / £0.89 until 16th July, normally €1.99 / £1.79) 3D MahJongg (Joindots, €3.99 / £3.59 until 2nd July, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Atlantic Quest (Joindots, €5.59 / £3.99 until 2nd July, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Crazy Construction (Joindots, €5.59 / £3.99 until 2nd July, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Undead Bowling (Joindots, €5.59 / £3.99 until 2nd July, normally €6.99 / £4.99) Tiny Games - Knights & Dragons (REACTOR, €1.99 / £1.69 until 2nd July, normally €2.99 / £2.49) 3DS eShop Permanent Discount Pets Resort 3D (Treva Entertainment, £17.99, was £24.99) 3DS HOME Themes Harvest Moon: Cow (Rising Star Games, €0.99 / £0.89) Harvest Moon: Dog (Rising Star Games, €0.99 / £0.89) Harvest Moon: Chicken (Rising Star Games, €0.99 / £0.89) Harvest Moon: Horse (Rising Star Games, €0.99 / £0.89) Harvest Moon Bundle (Rising Star Games, €2.99 / £2.69) - Includes four themes: "Cow", "Dog", "Chicken" and "Horse". 3DS HOME Theme Promotion Harvest Moon Bundle (Rising Star Games, free with eShop purchase of Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley) - Includes four themes: "Cow", "Dog", "Chicken" and "Horse".
  24. From Nintendolife, a pretty woeful week: Wii U Virtual Console Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue & White (Capcom, €6.99 / £6.29) - Another continuation of the RPG gameplay introduced in the first two games, with malfunctions thrown into the mix. Although this comes in two different versions, the content is largely the same across both; we gave this a glowing recommendation in our Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue & White review. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts Cubemen 2 (Nnooo, €4.49 / £3.99 until 25th June, normally €7.99 / £6.99) Fit Music for Wii U (O2 Games, €12.90 / £9.90 until 11th July, normally €29.99 / £24.90) Luv Me Buddies Wonderland (O2 Games, €12.90 / £9.90 until 11th July, normally €29.99 / £24.90) 3DS eShop Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) - This latest entry in the franchise combines plenty of ideas from its predecessors with the Miracle Cure pill, which has multiple uses that can switch up a game. There's Dr. Luigi, Virus Buster, multiplayer (online and local) and download play included; we'll see whether this makes us feel better in a review. 3DS Retail Download LEGO Jurassic World (€29.99 / £24.99) - This LEGO adaptation of the original trilogy and this summer's blockbuster is out on both Wii U and 3DS this week, though oddly only this portable iteration is confirmed for the eShop so far. 3DS eShop Temporary Discounts Luv Me Buddies Wonderland (O2 Games, €10.90 / £8.90 until 11th July, normally €24.90 / £19.900 Battleminer (Wobbly Tooth, €3.99 / £2.99 until 25th June, normally €7.99 / £5.99)
  25. Doesn't look like a great week. From Nintendolife: Wii U eShop Don't Starve: Giant Edition (Klei Entertainment, €13.99 / £12.59) - An intriguing and stylish survival experience that has been critically acclaimed. The Wii U version also comes with the Reign of Giants expansion pack as part of the main game, while utilising the GamePad for inventory management and off-TV play. We'll try and survive to bring you a review soon. FullBlast (EnjoyUp Games, €4.99 / £4.40 until 2nd July, then €5.99 / £5.39) - Previously released on smart devices and Ouya, this adds to the small band of shmup titles on Nintendo's home platform, in this case with a focus on vertical scrolling and some boss set pieces. It supports two player co-op, too, and we'll give it a blast for review. Wii U Virtual Console Big Brain Academy (Nintendo, €6.99 / £6.29) - A title that helped to define the concept of the DS, and contributed a great deal to the portable's incredible success, arrives as the latest in the limited - to date - batch of DS titles on Wii U. A collection of minigames to test your faculties and (hopefully) show progress with practice, we gave this a reasonable if not glowing recommendation in our original Big Brain Academy review. Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts 99Moves (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 2nd July, normally €2.49 / £2.29) 99Seconds (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 2nd July, normally €2.49 / £2.29) Abyss (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 2nd July, normally €1.99 / £1.79 Darts Up (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 2nd July, normally €2.49 / £2.29) Rock 'N Racing Off Road (EnjoyUp Games, €2.99 / £2.69 until 2nd July, normally €5.99 / £5.39) Rock Zombie (EnjoyUp Games, €3.99 / £3.59until 2nd July, normally €6.99 / £6.29) Spy Chameleon (EnjoyUp Games, €3.99 / £3.59 until 2nd July, normally €4.99 / £4.49) Unepic (EnjoyUp Games, €4.99 / £4.40 until 2nd July, normally €9.99 / £8.99) Spot the Differences: Party! An RPG with battles that focus on areas rather than grids, this also promises a diverse cast and dramatic storyline. We'll let you know what we think in a review. 3DS eShop Temporary Discount Retro City Rampage: DX (Vblank Entertainment, €5.99 / £5.48 until 11th June, normally €8.99 / £7.99) Wakedas (CIRCLE Entertainment, €1.99 / £1.69 until 25th June, normally €2.99 / £2.49) Witch & Hero (CIRCLE Entertainment, €1.99 / £1.59 until 25th June, normally €3.99 / £3.19) World Conqueror 3D (CIRCLE Entertainment, €3.99 / £3.19 until 25th June, normally €4.99 / £3.99) Darts Up 3D (EnjoyUp Games, €0.99 / £0.89 until 2nd July, normally €2.99 / £2.69) Dress to Play: Magic Bubbles!
