  2. I couldn't find much talk about this on the forum, but it sounds ace. The quote above is from this Eurogamer article which has some nice images of the game and is well worth reading. You can apparently slide and snap to cover, pop out to take shots, slide to take down enemies and use headshots for quick kills. Like Hotline Miami, it has a pretty straightforward objective - clear a building of enemies whilst occasionally performing secondary tasks in the level - and like Hotline Miami it's being published by Devolver. Oh, and it was playable at Rezzed, which I didn't go to. UPDATE 1: Devolver
  3. Thought it would be good to make a list of PSN IDs for rllmuk co-op shenanigans. Seems sensible to me.Copy and paste the player list, add yourself to the end and I'll periodically update this post for the convenience of new players. Blunted - MrBlunted *edit* scratch that! 5. It's been revealed that Capcom are releasing a 'app' for XBLA/PSN that will allow people to download Capcom games. So essentially a dedicated Capcom version of Game Room. This is being done because of the company's 30th anniversary. It's early days for information but what we know: - It will focus on 80s games - Black Tiger will be the first game - Arcade versions (not the home ports) with the bugs left in (so basically rom dumps) - 1942, Commando, Gunsmoke and Trojan hinted but not announced - Games have lots of configuration options, not currently clear if these are just the original dip swi
  6. So yes, Music Unlimited will be shuttered on the 25th of March, and in it's place Sony will launch Playstation Music, which sounds like it's essentially going to be a re-skinned Spotify. Read More: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2015/01/28/playstation-meet-spotify/ Smart move really. Music Unlimited did nothing exceptional in the streaming music space, so why not piggy back on the best service there is. I've enjoyed the ability to stream music through the PS4 though, although I've never actually used Spotify... I'm going to assume that being the biggest, it's also considered the best? It's al
  7. http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2014/12/feature_did_playstation_plus_represent_value_for_money_in_2014 Great article going into a lot of detail on the various games given away this year. I'm only really concerned about the PS4 games given away. Have no interest in the PS3 or Vita. They were almost all indie titles with the one exception (don't think I've missed anything off the list below). Don't Starve Outlast Dead Nation Mercenary Kings Stick it to the Man Trine 2 PixelJunk Shooter Strider Towerfall Ascension Road Not Taken Fez Velocity 2x Sportsfriends Dust Spelunky Pix the Cat Binding of Is
  8. I'm fully aware this game got some love in both the PSN and Vita threads, but I feel it deserves a thread of its own. In my humble opinion, it's easily one the best games of 2012 so far (and my personal fave), but the US press hardly paid any attention to it and developer FuturLab doesn't have the marketing muscle to go up against bigger hitters. They would like to make a dedicated Vita version, but this will only happen if enough people show their support. I'll do my part then. So what is Velocity? Let's watch a trailer first: So it's basically a retro shooter with a couple of wonderful mech
  9. I kid, but it is fucking brilliant. Really, so fucking brilliant. Just look at it: It is free on PS+ and you must own this now.
  10. by Trion Worlds defiance.com Release Date: April 2013 ABOUT IMAGES VIDEOS I have never heard of the show nor do I plan on actively watching it but the game looks interesting and most of all fun.The overal art style and visuals themselves might not be the terribly original but they're definitely, for lack of a better word, solid. If anything it is nice to see the two mediums co-exist and not have one lag behind the other. I for one am keeping my eye on this. 11. Sony has rescheduled its PSN Maintenance period, so expect the service to be offline tomorrow. According to Sony the service in Europe will now be taken offline from 4pm until Friday, August at 5am BST. In North America, it will be offline from 9.40am to 4.50am EDT. The later than planned maintenance obviously has something to do with engineers scrambling this past Sunday and Monday to bring services back online after DDoS attacks. For the duration, users will be unable to log-in to Account Management and the PS Store. PS Home will also be unavailable. As usual, if you have succes

    Mind Zero

(NOTE: this was originally posted in the Reviews folder of the forum before all of the recent merging, hence why it reads like a review...) This review is not going to be a glowing recommendation; I just thought I'd get that out of the way first. However, I've been having a lot of thoughts about this game after completing it, and since I seem to be the only one playing it (understandably), I thought I'd find somewhere to get some of these thoughts down. Mind Zero first came onto my radar when people looked at the demon-summoning, schoolkid heroes (and heroines), firstperson dungeons and mode
  13. I've been on True Achievements for a few years now and I've found it has influenced the way I've played games to some extent. I'm not a huge achievement hunter - down at the bottom of the RLLMUK gamerscore leaderboard - but the site lets you see which achievements others have gained, which look interesting, and encourages you to play games for more than half an hour before consigning them to the 'play more one day' pile. The site includes loads of walkthroughs, guides to finding stuff, and community. The original thread for TA is here: http://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?/topic/191268-true-
  14. So the "look over there" thing keeps coming up in the Trouble with Nintendo thread, and to be fair, the forum does have a bit of a blindspot. Despite being a company with fingers in many pies, they're in a much worse financial position than Nintendo. Sony have a bunch of loss-making divisions, and like Nintendo before them have just announced a billion dollar loss instead of a predicted full year profit, along with layoffs of another 5,000 staff, making this 30,000 since 2008. Their PC division, including VAIO is being sold off to some investment group, and TV is being restructured and spun o
  15. Public service announcement, these games will be leaving XBLA and PSN soon, presumably the license is expiring. DLC content will leave the stores on the 17th (NA), 19th (EU) on PSN and the 26th for XBL. Announcement doesn't mention the date the games become unavailable. http://www.capcom-unity.com/combofiend/blog/2013/12/13/last-days-for-umvc3-and-mvc2-on-psnxbla-store If you already own the games, this shouldn't affect your ability to redownload them.
  16. By Frogwares Magrunner.com Release date: Coming Soon ABOUT IMAGES VIDEOS Looks decent enough I suppose. At least it's not brown. I mean just look at all dat colour.
  17. Even though I couldn't get the game to work last week I really looked forward to playing with you guys. Let's try something else this week and maybe make it a semi regular thing. I don't know what we should organise to play this time, but I'd think something recent from PS+ would be a good start. So what do you think?

  20. Just announced on the EU Official PS blog. An...interesting idea, these seem to be games from the PS3's 'Home' app playable on Vita. Not really sure about this, no one really cares about Home, although it must be doing well enough for them to keep adding new items to it. I can't say I've ever wanted to play it's mini games. On the other hand this sort of reuse of assets does make business sense even if it carries low expectations.
  21. I recently picked up Playstation Plus, and as this was one of the quickest freebies to download, chose this. It's good, so good in fact that I still haven't downloaded Mortal Kombat and the like. It starts extremely simple, and at first seems no more than a low budget Limbo, but then it's charm draws you in. The first two chapters are basically a tutorial for the main event, chapter three. Like, the best games, this captures you with discovery and exploration, and it's clever in slowly leading you to realise that far off ledges and exits are achievable. The story, sure for what it is, is no mo
  22. A range of news sites are reporting that Sony has filed a patent which seeks to monetise the sales of second hand games for their next gen game system. By tagging game discs with the same sort of NFC (near field communication) tags as modern bank cards, PS4 could - without needing online access - determine the permissions associated with that game disc, and if the game is already connected to another user account, refuse to play and/or presumably prompt users to pay to reactivate the disc. You can read further details on the patent over at Eurogamer, but in a nut shell, the goal of this patent
  23. So, the new PS3 firmware update has added Singstar to the Games section on the XMB. Select it and it installs a new PSN version for free, which enables you to download and play songs you've already downloaded (or ones you now buy) via microphones or even singing at the PS Eye camera. All lovely. And free (bar the cost of buying new songs if you want to, of course). Then I read the blog post on the EU Playstation blog about it. http://blog.eu.plays...e-xmb/#comments It's amazing.
  24. http://www.capcom-unity.com/gregaman/blog/2012/07/14/jojos_bizarre_adventure_hd_ver._confirmed Between this and Marvel vs Capcom Origins the month after, it's becoming silly season for Capcom fighters again.
