  1. Huge January sale now on, even though it's December! https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/grid/STORE-MSF75508-JANSALE19/1 EDF 4.1 The Shadow of New Despair £6.49 and probably other stuff as well! I've been getting price alerts from psprices.com all bloody morning. https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP4293-CUSA03467_00-EARTHDEFENSEFO41

I dunno, I don't really know what's going on. I just wanted the new thread glory.
  4. As per title. MS are putting all their eggs in one basket by bundling the Kinect, that no gamer I know wants, with the Xbone and adding a hefty margin on to the price. My question is, and one MS should have asked as a dashboard poll on 360 or something, Do you care about gesture control? I don't. I feel like an idiot shouting voice commands, I hate controlling games with gestures. Nothing is as accurate as a pad or keyboard and mouse.

As usual, shake salt liberally, but the below is what's rumoured to be coming: 40+ Exclusives Coming New Sony Santa Monica Game Will Be Shown Playstation World Detailed See The Console Amazing Big Vita Title Final Fantasy Versus & Kingdom Hearts 3 Demon Souls 2 What They Need To Show: There are some very obvious questions which Sony will finally have to answer. It's already been stated that PS4 won't require an online connection, so they should be good from that angle, but the question of DRM will hang over their entire conference unless they get it out of the way early. If it's good news, expect them to make it a cornerstone of their conference announcement, if it's bad, then we'll probably only hear about it in the interviews which follow. PS4 is obviously going to be the major focus, but pleeeeease don't ignore the Vita this year. It was just embarrassing last year. Suspend/Resume - Stop your game and put the PS4 into a low power state, pick up immediately where you left off when you come back. Share - Post screenshots and video from your play sessions. It looked like you could wind back through your last ten minutes of gameplay, edit/trim it down and upload it. They did this onstage with Killzone: Shadow Fall. Video Streaming - Stream your game out live to other users on the PS4 or ustream. People watching can give you tips like "Dude Look Out!" and even take control of your game temporarily to get you past a tough section. Gakai Being Fast - The plan is to be able to select a demo and instantly begin streaming it. You'll also be able to start playing games while they download. The Games! Also PlaystationEU's twitter are pretty sure backwards compatibility is coming via their cloud service and not at all qualifying it in "eventually"s like Dave Perry did onstage. Controller stuff from Morrius / Moz: Has this stuff been posted yet? I can't see it. If it has, instead of negging me, just tell me and I'll remove the post. Some dashboard stuff from Moz: # Love it. One thing I noticed, it appears to show a user streaming picture-in-picture, showing their gameplay AND their face via the new camera at the same time. Don't think they've mentioned that yet Is it wrong that I'm most excited about hearing the startup sound for the first time?! It looks quite a lot like big picture mode too. 7. So with Gamescom kicking off tomorrow, I thought a thread to contain all the news might be called for. VG247 have written up a great summary of why this event is much more about the games than E3, so with some of the industries biggest publishers holding their own presser, we should get a good few announcements, and a better look at this winters line up. Below is a summary of the who, what, why where and when, in order of each conference's schedule: Capcom: Capcom delivered a solid show, focussing on new titles in existing franchises, but the stand out title was their new IP, Remember Me. What We Got: Devil May Cry Resident Evil 6 Lost Planet 3 Marvel vs Capcom Origins Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure HD (Vita) Okami HD Remember Me EA: What We Got: Crysis 3 FIFA 13 Medal of Honor Warfighter Need for Speed Most Wanted Star Wars: The Old Republic SimCity Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel Battlefield 3: Armored Kill Dead Space 3 NHL 2013 The Simpsons: Tapped Out Sony: What We Got: PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royale (Vita & PS3) Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified (Vita) Assassin's Creed III Assassins Creed: Liberation (Vita) Soul Sacrifice (Vita) The Unfinished Swan Ratchet & Clank: Q Force (Vita & PS3) The Last of Us Killzone: Mercenary Wonder Book - A Book of Spells - Walking With Dinosaurs - Diggs Nightcrawler - Disney (only announced) LittleBigPlanet (Vita) When Vikings Attack (Vita & PS3) Rain Until Dawn (Move) Puppeteer Sports Champions 2 Tearaway (Vita) God Of War: Ascension Sly 4 (Vita & PS3) Little Big Planet: Karting Playstation Mobile (Vita & Android - Couldn't find the montage for this anywhere, if anyone does, just send it along and I'll update the link) Additional News: Below is a summary of the event taken from the Playstation blog: Ubisoft: Times: UK: August 15th 2:00 PM EU: August 15th 3:00 PM Live Streams: Text Stream Only: http://www.el33tonline.com/past/2012/8/15/gamescom_2012_ubisoft_press_conference/ Expectations: After knocking it out of the park at E3, it's hard to see what more Ubisoft have left to reveal. Numerous quotes points to a focus on free to play gaming reveals, based on their existing IP, so don't expect any Watchdogs level unveilings. Expected Games Are: Assassin’s Creed III Assassin’s Creed III Liberation Far Cry 3 Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online Shootmania: Storm Rabbids Land Rayman Legend Sports Connection Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013 ZombiU As Gamescom rolls on, I'll update the 'Expected Games' sections with links to revealed videos. Feel free to post links to these videos, and I'll roll them into the OP.
  8. Times: UK: June 5th 2:00 AM BST EU: June 5th 3:00 AM CET US: June 4th 6:00 PM PST US: June 4th 9:00 PM EST Video Streams: http://us.playstation.com/e3-2012/ http://e3.gamespot.c...erence/sony-e3/ http://www.gametrailers.com/e3/ http://www.g4tv.com/...ences/Sony/135/ http://www.youtube.com/user/E3 Sony are also going all out on streaming the show directly to your PS3. You can watch a live stream of the conference via Home (contain your excitement, I dare you ), and there will be an icon under the 'What's New' category of the XMB, which will pipe the entire show through to you. What Are We Expecting: Vita, Vita and more Vita. Saying that, there's been plenty of buzz about Sony upgrading their Playstation Plus service with cloud streaming and a more tiered price offering. Plus will also be announced for Vita. There's also going to be a host of games of course. Sony has the habit of revealing many of it's upcoming schedule ahead of E3, and this year has been no different. So far we've had: God of War: Ascension Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault Sports Champions 2 The Last of Us The Last Guardian Sony Allstars: Battle Royale Sly 4 Ni No Kuni Dust 514 The Witch & The Hundred Knights Warrior's Lair Little Big Planet Karting Papo & Yo The Unfinished Swan Also hinted at, are new games from Quantic Dream and it's high time we hear what Guerrilla Games and Sucker punch are up to. The real meat of the show will be Vita though. Already it sounds as though Sony are going to be pushing the platform hard, with recent announcements/leaks including: Sly 4 Assassins Creed 3: Liberation Medal of Honour: Warfighter Sony Allstars: Battle Royale Ghost Recon: Final Mission Need For Speed Jet Set Radio Little Big Planet: Karting Call of Duty Bioshock Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection Lego Batman 2 Oddworld: Strangers Wrath Little Big Planet Killzone Phantasy Star: Online 2 Soul Sacrifice Urban Trials Rayman: Legends Retro City Rampage Sound Shapes Gravity Daze Guacamelee ...and a multitude of other smaller titles I'm also keen to see if they have any serious Playstation Suite announcements, and how much support that's getting. What We Got: Take a look at that list above, take a good look and then ask yourself why Sony chose to talk about just 5 of them... five.....F.I.V.E....fyyyyvvvvveee, God of War, Last Of Us, Sony All Stars, Assassins Creed Vita and Beyond (New Quantic Dream). No talk of cloud gaming initiatives, no remarkable new services for either PS3 or Vita announced, no Vita price cut (although an Assassins Creed bundle is planned), no shake up of the Plus service (although current NA subscribers do get Infamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Just Cause 2 and Saints Row 2) and no surprise exclusives. The only big surprise was a JK Rowling partnership on a new initiative called 'Wonder Book', which is a Move compatible children's book, which features plenty of AR tricks. Last Of Us was the star of the show, and shows that this is a surprisingly violent but markedly different game to Uncharted. Looks awesome. Overall though, this was a huge disappointment, and based on their release schedule, it didn't need to be. I honestly don't know what they're playing at, but to be frank, it was a waste of a great stage. Gutted.
  9. Sega have announced HOTD3 for a Feb 7th release on PSN (in the US I guess), and HOTD4 as "spring" Both games will be with mandatory Trophies and HD, and will have Move support. No sign of 3D and I doubt they will bother for HOTD3. HOTD4 has never been ported to home console before so they may put in more effort for 3D. No news on a disc release. http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/05/house-of-the-dead-3-and-4-becoming-psn-neighbors/#continued
