  1. I know you're thinking it doesn't need a remake. Well, New Line don't care for such things. They're trying to hire Indonesian director Timo Tjahjanto, who did Headshot, The Night Comes For Us and some others.

  5. Apple have nabbed a movie which is under development about Tetris. Rather than some earlier effort which apparently was supposed to be some sort of epic Tetris-based narrative somehow, this seems to be about the game itself, development, gaining popularity and all that. Taron Egerton is playing Henk Rogers, who first secured rights to distribute the game on consoles. Other roles still being finalised. Jon S, Baird, of Stan & Ollie, directing.
  6. Judd Apatow doing a comedy movie for Netflix. It's about a group of actors stuck in a pandemic bubble at a hotel, trying to complete a movie. Stars Karen Gillian, Iris Apatow, Fred Armisen, Maria Bakalova, David Duchovny, Keegan-Michael Key, Leslie Mann, Pedro Pascal and Peter Serafinowicz.

  8. Those crazy funsters at Mattel are adding another entry to the Mattel toy cinematic universe. Somehow based on Uno. It will be a live-action heist comedy. Somehow based on Uno. Lil Yachty is up for the starring role. It'll be set in the underground hip hop world of Atlanta. Unsure how Uno plays into that.
  9. Doug Liman is now shooting a heist comedy drama involving a jewellery heist on Harrods during Covid-19 lockdown. Written by Steven Knight. Main stars Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor and should also feature Ben Stiller, Lily James, Stephen Merchant, Dulé Hill, Jazmyn Simon and Mark Gatiss.
  10. Gorgeous George stars in and directs this sci-fi film based on the book Good Morning, Midnight. Originally shot for cinema, it's coming to Netflix on 23 December. They even shot it on 65mm for IMAX. Also stars Felicity Jones, Kyle Chandler, David Oyelowo, Demián Bichir, Sophie Rundle, Ethan Peck, Tim Russ and Miriam Shor. George is in an arctic scientific outpost when some sort of catastrophe befalls Earth. Meanwhile, others are on a spaceship, apparently on a mission to check out a possibly habitable world from the looks of it. Neither location has been able to contact anyone else on Earth for weeks. George is trying to contact the ship to tell them not to return to Earth.

    The Mad Max spin-off is happening. It'll be set before Fury Road, showing her origins. Anya Taylor-Joy in the lead role, with Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II also in.
  13. Rian Johnson writes and directs a whodunnit murder mystery with a bunch of people in a house where someone done a murder and everyone is a suspect. Stars Daniel Craig (DAT ACCENT), Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Toni Collette, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, Jaeden Martell and Christopher Plummer. Out 27 November US (apparently 29 in UK)
  14. New movie coming starring Brad Pitt. Based on a Japanese novel, Maria Beetle. Being directed by David Leitch. It's set on a bullet train bound for Tokyo, with five hitmen and assassins. They're on different missions, but discover something in common. Also starring Joey King, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Bad Bunny, Masi Oka, Hiroyuki Sanada and Andrew Koji. Lada Gaga also rumoured.
  15. Coppola has had another go at The Godfather III. New name, The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone, which he says is what he an Puzo always wanted. Re-edited with a new beginning and ending and other stuff rearranged. He says it's a more appropriate ending to the story. It's getting a limited cinema run in December. I don't know if that's US only, as sometimes these things are. It'll be available digitally after that. Chances of it undoing the bad rep Part III had to now?
  16. Troma is bringing back The Toxic Avenger. With Peter Dinklage. And directed by Macon Blair who did I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore. I seem to recall people thinking that was good.

So Tom gets hired to take care of him. You know what happens next. Humans are played by Chloë Grace Moretz, Michael Peña, Rob Delaney, Colin Jost and Ken Jeong.

It “will add a unique family story that parallels Dumbo’s journey.” Sounds great. I've saved the best for last. It's written by Ehren Kruger, writer of The Brothers Grimm and Transformers 2, 3 and 4.

I don't know if that means October next year. They've been churning out quite a lot of movies, with low budgets, often to good success, sometimes huge success.

  25. Legendary are going to make a movie based on Enola Holmes novels. Enola is Sherlock's and Mycroft's young sister. Millie Bobby Brown will play Enola and Helena Bonham Carter her mother. Henry Cavill will be Sherlock.
