I don't think we've had a thread on this old game. I remember loving this back in the day despite it being something David Crane cobbled together in six weeks from his Car Wars prototype. Came across a video tonight that talks about how the account generator worked in such a way to create a "save" system with no onboard saving.

Not that Zoo Keeper. The other one. The obscure Taito arcade game from the early 80's. The platform screen would be easy to do on the 2600 but the :cage" screen? Can't be done. Or can it? Exciting news for those of us who enjoyed the recent Chopper Command port. http://www.indieretronews.com/2019/09/keystone-kapers-another-atari-to-c64.html#more

What I love about this port is the detail, down to the credits screen which is the same as the credits screen used in other Activision C64 ports. And they managed to get that amazing Activision sunset in, something that's harder to do on the C64 than the 2600. More info here http://www.indieretronews.com/2019/08/chopper-command-c64-final-version-will.html#more Unfamiliar with the game? It's a basic version of Defender where you need to take out planes and choppers before they hit your convoy. Bonus points are awarded depending on the jeeps remain

Always wanted a port of this back in the day but decades later realised that it would have been impossible to port to the 2600. Or would it? http://www.indieretronews.com/2019/06/galaga-arcade-classic-as-upcoming-atari.html#more There's a link to a demo copy at the article although you'll need a new version of Stella to run it.

More info here http://www.indieretronews.com/2017/10/draconian-awesome-1980s-multi.html#more Check out this amazing clone of Namco's Bosconian on the humble 2600. edit, just tried the prototype out and it's really faithful right down to having the voice samples. The big difference besides the obvious graphical downgrade is it runs a little slower than it's arcade inspiration.
