  1. o/\oThe whole Smiths discography is excellent; you can't buy a Smiths CD that isn't worth your time and money. (Well, there was another indie band that was around at the same time that was arguably better than The Smiths, and made music that was far more emotionally moving, but you may never have heard of them...)
  2. The opinion of A. Denning sums things up very well.... So true.
  3. Most TVs I've seen only support S-Video through a Scart socket for some reason...
  4. Y'know, really dark albums, like 'Closer' by Joy Division and 'The Holy Bible' by the Manics. Suggestions plz.
  5. My mum didn't play any games since we switched from a Speccy to an Amiga in 1989 (well, apart from the odd game of Tetris DX) until we got a DS, and she's played eight DS games to bits. She's addicted to Animal Crossing at the moment. My dad hasn't played games in ages as he could never get the hang of joypads, particularly the ones with analogue controllers. Last time I remember him playing anything was Pilotwings 64. Shame really, as he was the person who got me playing games in the first place.
  6. The Wii's quite expensive in Grattan's Christmas catalogue...
  7. "Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly, the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest... is silence." "He lived a warrior, and died a hero. Let his spark join the Matrix, with the greatest of Cybertron."
  8. It wasn't a console, it was an attempt to make a standardised home computer format. Like the later 3DO console, several large electronics manufacturers each made their own versions of the machine, all compatible with each other.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSX
  9. We can have the original Parodius game on the Virtual Console now it'll play MSX games.
  10. Saw this on BBC2 earlier. What an oddball that man was! Judging from what I read on Wikipedia just now, the film wasn't totally accurate with the real events.
  11. Several wesites are claiming that the Virtual Console will also support the MSX(!). Interesting development that.
  12. Interesting. I just remembered that the PAL 'Cube can output progscan with the help of Freeloader, come to think of it. I'm hoping for some confirmation of whether or not it 'does' progscan. I'll import if the EuroWii doesn't. But then importing is risky, I doubt Nintendo would let you use the Virtual Console service with an imported console.I'm still kicking myself for not getting a US 'Cube and games. I thought, there was no need, as the PAL 'Cube had games with NTSC modes and could output RGB. Didn't consider the future, that I'd actually be able to own a TV with Component input soonafter.
