  1. Video game looks better than videogame therefore it is my personal 'house style'. I really don't care though. I do hate the use of the word game as a verb though - gamer and gaming. It sounds so incredibly naff, is pointless and is getting more and more common. I have to like someone quite a lot to not think less of them for using it.
  2. The original Desert remake is quite nice, and has music based on the original. It's the only remake though. You do three laps of it and then get kicked back to the menu to sulk. This game is really about multiplayer, that's where Revo was the most fun. I hope people give it a try.
  3. This is even more of a Revo repackaging than I expected, they even kept the menu complete with music. I loved Revo but the massive sense of familiarity is dissappointing.
  4. I'll have it very shortly, I'll let you know.
  5. How difficult is it to make a trailer Sega? http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=videos&search_query=sega+rally+online+arcade&search_sort=video_date_uploaded

There's way way too much stuff there. Too many too good to be true things and too many predictable things. There isn't enough chaff. It's the list of a kotaku-glued nintendo freak. Where are the weird things that always turn up at Nintendo launches like Steel Diver and Escape from Bug island, or the inevitable atrocity from Koei?

My only annoyance at this point is that the XP/score rewards seem off. Medics who don't seem to have a sprint key and only revive people that they happen to randomly come accross in their field of view tend to be top of the team scores, whereas I can have a really good game doing everything I'm supposed to be doing as a soldier (truckloads of kills, keeping everyone's supplies up, doing objectives when I can) and still end up near the bottom. It's not about competing with your team mates, but still. Or maybe that's intentional to make sure there are enough medics? Well it's not working because only 1 in 20 medics seems to be aware of the fact.

Couldn't be any less convincing, even if it included Shenmue 3.
  10. There's a redeem code thing in account management, does that not work yet?
  11. The new Nintendo ones don't seem quite right to me.

There seem to be a lot of lag complaints for the 360 version but I don't see any compelling reason not to buy the PC version. The only big deal is the ATI visual problems which are almost certainly AMD's fault and I personally can put up with it in the short term, I'll just never buy an AMD card ever again. It's much less of a crime to buy a good progressive game like this that's a bit buggy than to buy any of the sterile action games people buy year after year.
  13. I hope my killphrase doesn't get leaked, that would be a bugger.

I have the PC version. The good: -The game itself seems fun, you can see that a lot of thought has gone into all the gameplay systems and rules. -It's a lot more accessible and easier to pick up than it looked in videos. -Not had any problem finding a good random server. Just the usual server browser, sort by ping and player count. The bad: -A large range of ATI graphics cards, including my 4870, are giving a nasty grid effect on most of the geometry. It's perfectly playable but looks very ugly. -ATI released a hotfix specifically for Brink which doesn't fix the grid problem and introduces horrible constant stuttering, seemingly for everyone. I've rolled back to 11.3 drivers and have good enough performance. -I'm playing with randoms and the random PC master race is about as thick as you'd expect on consoles, but with the added mixed blessing of nobody having a headset. -You have to skip a cutscene at the beginning of EVERY SINGLE MATCH. Where do they find people who think that's ok?
  15. I learned only recently that an incredibly poorly marketed PC version of Condemned exists. I was sure it was a bizarrely console-only thing. Has anyone played it?
  16. *Ressurects thread from PAGE FUCKING THREE* This is getting better and better the more I play it and I'm really taken aback by how problem-free it is. They deserve a big pat on the back for their big beta test. Literally the only problem I have is a slow server browser. With Brink, which I've been looking forward to for ages, seemingly having turned out a bit rough, I'm so glad that this is around. I've not felt this stuck into an online shooter since Shadowrun.
  17. I expect Call of Honour: Urban Space Marines with bullet time and collectable audio diaries. It can only be better than this.
  18. I called the Nintendo hotline to ask how to kill Andross.
  19. Is that kid's chronic eye disorder part of the plot?

It was actually worse than that. You have to post them your bugged save file on an SD card.
  21. I very rarely have more than one single player game on the go, but I generally have a handful of multiplayer ones that I'll dip into. I'll play something like Portal 2 until I'm too burned out to play anything else, stopping and starting until it's finished. Even small XBLA type games will either dominate my time or I'll drop them for months or forever.
  22. As long as I can still look at my pictures of b-boys and breakers it'll be fine.
  23. Apparently I've not bought a Nintendo game since Electroplankton.
  24. I hope they make it look nice. The Saturn game has horrible scaling which I'll be glad to see the back of, but it'll be a shame if it ends up looking like a flash game. EDIT: Oh right, there are screenshots. Could be worse.
