  1. A little detail I noticed in episode two that probably won’t go anywhere, just thrown in for kicks.
  2. Anyone on the new BBNG? It arrived in the post this morning. First impressions are good. Very happy with the pressing, it sounds fantastic.
  3. I’m off to give Matthew Castle Productions a vote on twitter, just out of pity really. If this keeps up, Big Sammy will be doing a hostile takeover of MCP and sacking all the staff. edit: maybe not, Basil Pesto is way ahead in the poll.
  4. Yeah absolutely, and with my monitors, each one has it's own volume control which is a pain so best to set them at the same level and use a volume control on the desk. Most of the ones I use are USB driven and are overkill for your situation because you don't need a DAC or to plug instruments into (I'm assuming). I use either an Axe I/O (mostly for recording guitar), an audio-gd headphone amp or a Schiit Fulla mini headphone amp. The Fulla would do the job for you but it's expensive (£100) and has features you don't need. The Behringer I linked to previously would work but something like this Fostex would do exactly what you need and no more - it also doesn't even need power: https://www.thomann.de/gb/fostex_pc_1_black.htm
  5. I can see the volume knob but I have a pair of JBL active monitors that would still be really loud at their lowest volume setting. I use a headphone amp or audio interface to control the volume. In this case, I think it is a faulty speaker unit though.
  6. With active speakers, you are likely going to need something in between the TT and speakers to control the volume, assuming there is no volume control on the turntable. A cheap amp with the right cables and connectors could do the job. Something like this maybe but there’s loads of options. Behringer HA400 Microamp 4 Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000KIPT30/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_TYSZ9HWZG4W73F58GSC1 Edit: The people reviewing the tt/speaker combo on Amazon don’t seem to have your issue. I wonder if the volume knob on your speaker is busted? Does it get even louder than on the lowest setting?
  7. I have a day off, kids out of the house, listening to this at the appropriate volume.
  8. Fantastic recommendation - never heard of them. Listening now and there's a lot of Suicidal Tendencies/New Wave/Deftones mashing going on. I love it. This video hits right too!
  9. “90’s internet simulator” mentioned in the blurb on steam. I’m in.
  10. I don’t think these two have been mentioned. Both under 3 hours for me: Stories Untold Her Story Both really good, enjoyed them a lot.
  11. I liked Her Story so Telling Lies has been on my wishlist for a while.
  12. Cheers - I didn’t click with OW either but I will go back. Forgotten City is new to me - I’ll be checking that out.
  13. I bought this close-ish to when it came out but it never really clicked for me. I gave it another go recently and 10 or so hours later, I’m all done. I've enjoyed reading through this thread and seeing how people solved things differently to me. It’s also one of the rare games that has caused me to need to listen to podcasts about it - Cane & Rinse and the Backpage pod all have good episodes where it is featured heavily. My favourite solution came to me so late and was so bloody obvious, I nearly kicked myself when I got it. Anyway - wonderful game. Has anyone ripped it off yet so I can play something similar? Paradise Killer is on my wishlist as mentioned above.
  14. Nord VPN has been decent for me with this sort of thing. I mainly use it to get CBeebies for the kids but worked recently with US Netflix.
  15. Oh yeah, all BBNG is quality. III remains my favourite but I enjoy practically everything they’ve done (that I’m aware of, there’s a lot). Cracking live band too.
  16. New album due from Badbadnotgood in October. Until then, III & IV will tide me over nicely. The spared no expense with the cover art on this one.
  17. The Type O box set was something that got bought the moment it was reissued a few years back.
  18. Finally got my record player out of storage after 3.5 years. It’s good to be back.
  19. ^ Stuck Mojo were great fun. They supported a load of bands (Deftones, Type O, Korn) whenever they hit this part of the world in the late 90’s. On the Chris Jericho thing, I don’t know anything about wrestling but Stuck Mojo had a fantastic video with a bunch of WCW wrestlers from their 3rd album. I guess that’s how that collaboration came about originally.
  20. I like it a lot but it sounds like the years of gargling razorblades have caught up with Tomas Lindberg - he sounds quite strained compared to his heyday. Still works though.
  21. Very happy with Grindstone for the cost of one month's sub to Apple Arcade.
  22. I have a Weber kettle and a heap of attachments - rotisserie, pizza stone etc. Can’t really go wrong IMO. You’re covered for everything pretty much. It has definitely earned its keep over the past 3 years and stays outside.
  23. Ah, just reading this now. Those first four albums and a bunch of Entombed EPs (Stranger Aeons!) were regular spins for me for years. Saw them live a few times as well. RIP LG.

    The Jazz Thread

I got really into the Romantic Warrior album - what a lineup. Quite a life in music. RIP
