  1. I'd agree that very few will likely need optical now, but I still use it to connect my One X to my mega old (2003 apparently, they don't make 'em like they use to eh!) Pioneer AVR that doesn't have HDMI so that it can handle the sound side of things as the monitor used in my office Xbox setup doesn't have speakers. I did nearly buy a Series S the other day (so would've had to get an optical extractor) but then watched the DF comparison between it and the One X and it was six of one half a dozen of the other so decided against it. I don't think a Series S would vent too well with this lump on it either....
  2. Output audio over optical.
  3. Alphabetical list of the correct answers for this weeks (which country was neutral in WW2) 50/50. Iran Ireland Lithuania Nepal Portugal Saudi Arabia Spain Sweden Switzerland Turkey I'm often borderline embarrassed as to how little I know about modern history and there are a few on there that I had no idea about!!
  4. Bit late in the day (forgot to mention it earlier) but weekly treasure appeared today .
  5. I swear it does but I’ve just taken a look in the settings on mine and I’ll be damned if I can find where it’s at!! I guess the easiest way to check would be to set it downloading something pretty chunky, pop it into standby and then take a look in the morning .
  6. Great to see such a big corp' acknowledging and remedying an issue so quickly eh .
  7. Why not? Surely I’m not the only one that’s bought 45 Series X’s !
  8. On digital from the MS store? If so and if you've spent less than 2hrs on it then you can get a refund

Thanks guys, I've taken your kind recommendations and gone for it!! Pretty sure it's the graphical style that I'm not too keen on / that was putting me off though so long as the mechanics are solid (and I simply adore the Gradius games with me having loads of them from MSX through to V) then I'm sure I'll be able to look beyond it .
  10. Weekly treasure (should really be called “todays treasure” seeing as it’ll be gone at midnight!) is up today too .

I see that Super Hydorah is currently on sale on the (pretty slim shoot em up options wise) Xbox. Reviews seem largely positive but there’s something I can’t quite put my finger on that’s holding me back. Should I be grabbing it?
  12. Answers to this weeks "Hang your head in shame if you need to check them" 50/50: -Assassin’s Creed -BloodRayne -Dead or Alive -Doom -Double Dragon -Hitman -House of the Dead -King of Fighters -Max Payne -Mortal Kombat -Need for Speed -Resident Evil -Silent Hill -Sonic the Hedgehog -Street Fighter -Tekken -Tomb Raider -Wing Commander .
  13. Not too sure if it's because I've not played the game before, but when I went into multiverse there was only ever the one planet (Earth) with three towers all of which were labeled as tutorials. It only let me select the first one with my opponent then taking an age to inflict any level of damage upon me. If anyone else is having the same issue, then I found that going into single player, single fight, select your character, select opponent and then selecting the difficulty as very hard, had me getting my ass handed to me within about 15 seconds. At the end of your getting slapped around hit retry and after 4 fights the quest pops. Oh and yes it works just fine on cloud .
  14. Weekly treasure is up .
  15. Is that the only game you’ve tried to download? If so then perhaps try download a small (for speed reasons) game that’s on there as a quick tester to see if it’s an issue with your new subscription or with Halo Infinate .
  16. If I treat myself to the digital deluxe version of this does it come with all the content both present and future?
  17. Is the console FW fully updated as I used to get the occasional freeze / delay but haven't had one for a heck of a long time now. Failing that is it perhaps your controllers A button? Quite a few people have found them to be a bit poor when new on the response side of things, the good news being that they tend to free up pretty quickly.
  18. If anyone’s finding that the sheer volume of stuff on GP is making their storage bulge at the seams a bit, then these are (currently with a superb £/TB price right now) offer a great solution: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-Desktop-External-Integrated-2-Port/dp/B07173WR4B/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=21416P8ATXS4W&keywords=seagate+xbox+8tb&qid=1640231067&sprefix=seagate+xbox+8%2Caps%2C67&sr=8-3 Nice and quiet (for a mechanical drive) it’s surprising how quickly stuff loads from it and how quickly it’s sends Series S/X specific titles across to the internal drive as and when you want to play them. As a bonus the USB ports seem to have a decent amount of poke to them too, meaning they charge my phone nice and quickly / can power my SNES classic and they still do so when my Series X isn’t switched on .
  19. If anyone who’s just got a Series S/X is looking for a nice big HDD to keep all their games on then I can heartily recommend these (which are currently on offer): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-Desktop-External-Integrated-2-Port/dp/B07173WR4B/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=21416P8ATXS4W&keywords=seagate+xbox+8tb&qid=1640231067&sprefix=seagate+xbox+8%2Caps%2C67&sr=8-3 Nice and quiet (for a mechanical drive) it’s surprising how quickly stuff loads from it and how quickly it’s sends Series S/X specific titles across to the internal drive as and when you want to play them. 20. You're both in for a treat! It's (IMO) a bloody superb game with nice and tight controls / satisfying combat, a great look and sound to it and is really atmospheric too! I got properly obsessed with it when I played it through to completion . Persevere, it's super worth it!!!
