  1. The pedal tray has some reinforcing arms, which are optional to install so I'd probably make sure those are included. Otherwise there might be some flex with your load cells. You'll probably get some flex anyway, but it's all relative.
  2. That'd be a bargain I reckon.
  3. How much is it? The GT Ultimate is basically their wheel stand with their seat bolted on I think, which they sell as separate units now. The wheel stand part seems solid, I bought it for @jame for Christmas and we were impressed at now rigid it was.
  4. Right, so trying to get my PS5 and GT7 working with my sim rig just isn't going to work (far too much money on Drivehub, new TV/monitor would be required) so I'm going 'all in' on learning how to drive with the pad now. How many of you guys are playing on pad, especially the Monday night racers? Also, can I ask how assists work in the game? Is there a concept of factory assists that are needed for certain cars? In ACC you use varying TC and ABS values depending on certain conditions because GT3/4 racing is based around using them (you'd be slower using no TC in a real GT3 car); should I be doing the same here? i.e are some cars uncontrollable with the assists off? Or is it much less nuanced and a case of using as little ABS and TC as I can get away with for more speed?

  6. Yikes, Quest 2 here but I don't have anything like that! Glad you're finding some pace in VR. It took me a while to get my VR legs too. Just don't play Dirt Rally 2.0. Damn game still makes me ill
  7. Bought the bundle for AMS2. I tried it recently during a free trial, and it didn't leave a good impression. The free track and car combo they featured was awful, with nasty plain graphics (really bad textures) and even with options turned up there was terrible shimmering and aliasing. I see people mention that it's a looker (especially with the weather transitions), so I assumed either the track they featured just had bad textures or that I'm just more sensitive to the aliasing issues than most. It does look good in videos though, so I'd had it in mind to try it again. So now I can.
  8. Definitely 1 click per degree ambient. Pretty sure it was mentioned by Aris on one of his streams. As mentioned, the only time it fails me is if you get a massive swing in the track temps too. So if it is a super hot day then I'll sometimes reign back on the clicks; just to err on the side of caution. Otherwise it's mostly good.
  9. Yeah, I used to use track temp and just couldn't get it right. So it's much better since I've been using ambient.
  10. One click per degree, ambient. You sometimes need to cater for massive swings in track temp too, but it works as a general rule.
  11. You guys should be flying next week with all the Donington practice I'm diving back in this weekend!!
  12. Sorted. It makes sense as @milko could still have a stake in the championship I think. I added the participants; but @winky if you want to skip this one then you can just un-register I've created the event tonight with the sprint format (morning and evening races), with high weather variation
  13. It's mega easy to adjust things on SGP. I can shift forward the two league races a week, and create a new ad-hoc event for tonight. Can even change the format to make it sprint races if you like - to mix it up a bit? Although it does mean some of you guys will be doing Donington two weeks in a row?!
  14. The field is looking lean I signed in and out a few times over the last few days I'm being a good boy and resting up, but man it's hard!!
  15. Good luck for later guys. I'm resisting the temptation to jump back in. The arm is better than it has been, but still a bit of bruising and aches if I use the computer for a while; so I'm planning on staying out of the rig until we return for the off season races. For off season, I reckon we could do a couple of random/quirky races in cars we don't normally use (the older GT3s, GT4s maybe) and then into a season with the new cars when they release?
  16. Oh man, get well soon Mike! My sister tested positive a couple of days ago and I've been feeling ropey (just very minor acheyness), but no positive test for me as yet! New tracks are coming in the summer. US tracks apparently!
  17. Apparently yeah. Plus Ferrari 488 Challenge (which I can't wait for!), a new Porsche Cup, the new Lambo Super Trofeo and a couple of others apparently. GT Challenge Cup for season 9 with all the new cars?
  18. New challenge cup cars coming in a couple of weeks... https://twitter.com/AC_assettocorsa/status/1501603754679881744
  19. I've been using the special K app to run this in an unlocked frame rate (plus some other optimisations he's made to the code) and it's miles better, and much smoother. The downside is you have to run in offline mode, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for a much smoother experience. I wasn't reading the notes and stuff anyway to be honest. Link to the Discord if anyone is interested. I just grabbed the latest version from the installer channel... https://discord.gg/5wbNRBKm2M
  20. Thread hijack You need a Drivehub but also a wired officially licensed pad (like a Hori mini); otherwise it disconnects after 10 minutes as I assume the console can't detect a peripheral and does something funky. In my case I'd also need a new monitor/TV, because the 1440p Ultrawide that's connected to the rig is busted and stuck in display port mode (and won't take 4k anyway). I was thinking about getting an OLED for the office/rig room, but the added cost of the Drivehub etc is a bit much for one game. Such a shame as I think about how cool it would be with the wheel every time I play it. I just can't get to grips with the pad at all. My PSN username is: Kiyoshhi
  21. Nice one. The single player mode is super additive and have been enjoying it, to a point. But I can't help thinking I'm missing out on not using it with the wheel, so I've also been looking at a Drivehub. But shelling out another £80 just to play one game, seems a bit much. I might just ride out the wave of excitement I have with it and then just throw myself back into ACC when the arm feels totally better.
