  1. It's our standard greeting to eachother in work on a Monday morning. A mate of mine also has a mother in law called Jacqui. So he's trained his four year old son to great her every time with "Hellooo Jacqui. You look, nice."
  2. I had this idea set in the near future where crime detection is 100% due to surveillance, forensics, embedded device tracking etc. A group of students are reading/watching films about old heists and get this heroic/romantic notion into their heads that they'll be some sort of glorious cult heroes if they can pull off some kind of audacious heist. There's loads of prep where they have to work out how they can get away with it. Maybe a stray piece of evidence leads to some sort of cat and mouse with the future police. I've not really thought about the details.
  3. Possibly one of the 2d Duke Nukem platformers.
  4. Where did you get the Switch from? I bought from my local branch of Game (yeah I know) and was having problems with one of the buttons on my right joycon (plus button). I took it back today and game were happy swap out just the joycons.
  5. Yes! Just got my first desert chicken dinner. I dropped in and was slap bang in the middle of the first circle. Scavenged some reasonable weapons - including a sniper rifle. So went up a tall, rocky hill to take some potshots at other players while waiting for the circle to shrink. I've not really had much use of the sniper rifle before, so took this an opportunity to practice. About ten minutes later, with a few hits but no kills, the game crashed out. I quickly reloaded and got back in. Still alive. The circle was still over me and I regained my composure. Then the circle moved and I had to head back down the hill and across a road. Saw another player and we exchanged fire. He didn't hit me and I got across the road and into the final four circles. As they gradually shrank, I found some large bushes and crawled my way forward in cover. Then it was just me and one other guy left. I spotted him on the other side of the circle running towards a clump of trees. I took my time and got him in my sights waiting for him to stop moving. Then I fired, emptying a full clip at him. He's still alive and knows where I am. I quickly reload as he throws a grenade at me. It lands right next to me as I blindly fire again into the group of trees. Gritting my teeth and waiting for the explosion I think I'm done for. Then the screen darkens. Winner winner chicken dinner! I'm still shaking with adrenaline now. And cursing the game for crashing as it didn't record a replay for me to pore over for hours and relive the glory again and again.
  6. That explains why I got two chicken dinners on the first day I got it (September), but haven't had another since - even though I'm regularly in the top ten.
  7. I had a few squad games with some randoms last night. It seems that the latest cunts trick is to shoot at your own team member until they go down, then revive them. That way, you effectively ruin their match, but can't be reported for team killing. I had this happen twice with different teams. One squad member incapacitating each team member one by one. Twats.
  8. Okay PC gamers. I've got myself a headset, so all set for some squad action. I'll get a few of you added on Steam.
  9. I've been playing this solo on Steam for the last few months and regularly get into the top ten, but looking to try some duo/team play. I don't have a mic (although I may invest in one for this), but I'm happy to follow the instructions of others. If anyone wants to add me on Steam, my gamer tag is choduk.
  10. This season has been like a potato-and-shit casserole.
  11. She's going to go mental when she opens her fridge.
  12. I'll be glad when they're gone. They're a cancer on high street retailers and on my hobby.
  13. I started this when it came out on Xbox early access, but since getting a new PC last year, I picked it up again in the Steam sale along with the Horizons add-on. Just getting myself back into the swing if things again and thought I'd share a couple of nice screenshots.
  14. I picked up Rage for £1.99. And following a spot of Idle Master usage - if I can sell a few cards overnight, I might be able to get one more cheapy from the wishlist.
  15. I've decided on my additional sale items. I've gone with: Elite Dangerous (inc Horizons) Just Cause 3 Mad Max Couple of quid left that I'm topping up with by selling the trading cards straight away. You can get three per day by going through the recommended games queue. I'll see if there's anything else I fancy on the last day.
  16. Oh yeah. I was looking at the June listing. Duh. I think I'll still stick with this. Like I said, I've got credit to use up.
  17. Thanks. I did see that earlier in the month, but have a load of steam credit burning a hole in my pocket. Plus I either have access to or didn't fancy anything else in the bundle. So thought I'd hang on to see if it cropped up in the sale.
  18. First purchase of the sale complete. Dark Souls 2 : SOTFS for £8.99.

I haven't hand drawn anything for years, but had a go at drawing my son from a photograph tonight. Loads that I know is wrong with it, but fairly happy with the result.
  20. I was taking the piss out of my 14yr old two days ago when he was trying to flick a ball over a gap in one of those puzzles. He ended up throwing the WiiU controller over his shoulder and onto a wooden floor by accident. Then I did the same thing last night on a different puzzle. Luckily no-one was around to witness it. Luckier still that the WiiU controller is made of tough stuff.
  21. Kecks - that's how I pronounce it anyway.
  22. My final update for this playthrough: Mergo's Wet Nurse I enjoyed the whole area on the run up to this boss, and the boss itself was a good, fun challenge. I think all of these last few bosses were an improvement on the last batch. It took me three attempts to do this one. Getting behind seemed to be the best course of action most of the time (although I struggled to do this so just went with the frontal attack) and when it all becomes foggy, the trick seemed to be just to keep moving. Martyr Logarius After beating the Wet Nurse and returning to the Hunter's Dream, the dialogue with Gherman indicated a pretty big game ending decision, so I took a look online to make sure I wasn't going to miss anything, this is when I found out that I'd completely missed Cainhurst, so I went back and explored it. Two solo attempts at the boss and I had him down to a tiny sliver of health each time. The third time, and the lure of game's end was too much, so called in a fellow hunter to assist. It was still a good, challenging and enjoyable fight for two of us. Gherman, the First Hunter I felt the same panicked, desperation as back when I fought Father Gascoigne. I know these fights look more spectacular when you can stagger the enemy with a gun and follow up with a visceral attack. I tried that on my first two attempts, but I value the increased damage done by two-handing a weapon over the risk/reward mechanism of timing the shots right. In fact, this is the first "Souls" game where I played pretty much the entire game with a two-handed weapon (not only that, but the same weapon that I started the game with too). And that's how I took him down on my third try, finishing the game at level 77 (I have no idea if I was over levelled at this point or whether that's about average). So that's that. I've seen online that I haven't got the real ending and there are a few other bits and bobs that I've missed, but overall I'm pretty happy with that as first playthrough. I thought it was a bloody excellent game and I think I agree with those that says it tops the Souls series. I'd say it's probably the most accessible too, with less stats to worry about, reduced weapon choice, no shields, no encumbrance and no upgrades for clothing/armour. Will I go back for another play through? Definitely. But, not just yet. I've got the world of Gravity Rush 2 waiting for me - like a bright, colourful and cheery detox. Then... who knows, maybe The Old Hunters will ring their beckoning bell for me.
  23. Latest update from my Bloodborne playthrough: Darkbeast Paarl I noticed an NPC summon where you exit the cave right before this fight. I thought I'd summon Defector Antal in with the intention that he could take some of the attention off me while I learned the bosses moves. But as it turned out, we pasted him first time. The One Reborn I assumed the last fight was a bit of a fluke, so went for the same tactic again with this one. Antal again - this guy is a legend because once again we beat it first time. I noticed the fireballs hitting me from above, but didn't realise where they were being fired from. It was only by chance that I stumbled across one of the staircases in the corner while backing away from TOR. I killed the guys up top and went to rejoin Antal. He died toward the end of the fight leaving me to finish it alone. No video for this one unfortunately as the PS4 somehow buggered up the recording. Micolash, Host of the Nightmare I went in solo for this one and thought it was a pretty dull fight. It took me two attempts. On my first try I didn't get hit by the skeletons or Micolash once during the first stage of the fight, but then died when he spammed me with three AOE attacks in a row during the second part. On my second try, I got a bit lost after the first half of the fight and ended up taking some damage from the skeletons as I was trying to rush. Until I found Micolash again and finished the second part of the fight in one minute flat. I've just put the video of the second half up. Me running around fog shrouded staircases for 15 minutes isn't particularly entertaining.
  24. I really couldn't tell you. I'm trying to go in relatively blind, so I don't know what's optional and what isn't.
