  1. aye, it was a great concert. Behemoth (their opening act), I'd only started listening to them a few days beforehand. AMAZING band, on my weekly rotation now - some of their stuff sounds like very early Paradise Lost, such a find. Great concert, loved it (pull put some photos soon), nothing great but we were top right of the stage so had a great view. Daughter had a blast as well which is the important bit.
  2. Off to see Slipknot (with my 12yr daughter) next Saturday at the 02. Can't wait, first gig of 2020 and I hope it's good - first time seeing them live.
  3. Has to be The Trooper by Iron Maiden.
  4. Busy December for me, I am taking my 10yr old to see Robert Plant at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday 8 December then out to see Marylin Manson on Saturday 9 December as SSE Wembly Arena (with friends, 10yrs old is a little too early for MM). I hope to get some OK pics, still not sorted my gig camera issue , will report back in a few weeks.
  5. I've been going to more live shows in 2017 and despite having a great time I can't help but feel annoyed at the quality of photos I am getting on my aging Canon S95. Now whilst I respect the band's image and fully understand their need to manage their brand by not letting everyone take in their DSLR, I am frustrated at the quality of images I can get (granted, from the back of the show as I often have my 10yr old with me) with my small compact. My question to you all you shutterbugs, what do you take with you to a gig? I am looking to review and buy a new camera that will get past security (so nothing with a detachable lense) but will still allow me to capture the show. I know I need to look at hardware that allows you to shoot AV priority and really needs to have snappy focusing to have any chance to keep up with the live show and all the lights.
  6. I am very excited, after a successful Iron Maiden concert I am taking my 9yr old daughter to see Black Sabbath at the end of this month. I have her listening to a playlist of the songs that 'should' be on that evening to help her really get in to it. After that we have two cover bands I am excited to take her too, Led Zeppelin Masters, , and pink floyd tribute Brit Floyd.
  7. Evening, sorry to ask again. Could anyone please invite me to the Xbox Insider Program so that I can trial the new dashboard that allows cross platform play. I am keen to spend time online with my daughter playing Minecraft. Gamertag is : SnappierTulip
  8. Few more from me, first lot are from our trip to the Natural History Museum in London. I really need to get a polarizing lens for shots in a place like that, too many opportunities wasted due to massive reflections, still, happy with the ones below Natural History Museum : Mamals Pano by David Stewart, on Flickr Papa? by David Stewart, on Flickr Nom! by David Stewart, on Flickr Hey there. by David Stewart, on Flickr Eeek, there's two of them. by David Stewart, on Flickr Second set are from today, I felt like playing with light and how it flows over the Troopers. 9. The thing is, you both are keeping with it. Keeping the juices going and pushing through those 'meh' days, great work.
  10. Cracking work there Fishy, really nice shots. Good to see that you've still got the 366 going (I think I fell down around day 9 ), anyway - here are a few shots from my week off. I am loving having my camera with me and both the time and energy to think/do photography. Here are some from today at Colchester zoo, I am really amazed each time that you can focus on one element or another and never repeat the same photos The ladies loved Roger... by David Stewart, on Flickr Danger of there? by David Stewart, on Flickr Danger? cloud, danger?, cloud... by David Stewart, on Flickr Posing by David Stewart, on Flickr Hot work all this flying by David Stewart, on Flickr Flight by David Stewart, on Flickr Mighty pose by David Stewart, on Flickr Conflicting patterns by David Stewart, on Flickr Brought back up by David Stewart, on Flickr Fun screams by David Stewart, on Flickr Quiet Time by David Stewart, on Flickr And from an event at the Tower of London on the weekend. 12. Afternoon, I posted this in ATF and rightly so was pointed to this topic. I don't suppose anyone here would be kind enough to invite me to the Xbox One Dashboard preview programme? I am happy to add any beta testing they may need but ultimately it is for the feature that allows Xbox One to play MineCraft co op with Xbox 360's. My daughter has been bitten by the MC bug is is very keen to play co op (non split screen). I know it's a big ask as the only way I can get into the system is by an invite - so here's me, hat in hand, asking if anyone would be so kind.
  13. I could hear the Sargent shout the command to fire, I worked out the rough delay in his command to the shot itself. I have 50 odd shots where the gun goes off but you have not explosion only the smoke/plumes. It is luck but also I was firing in burst to capture each salute.
  14. Two from me, I got a good view of the 62 gun salute from work today. Happy Birthday by David Stewart, on Flickr and reflects of a light. waiting to shine by David Stewart, on Flickr

  16. Cheers FishyFish, I am using FF, you are 100% correct. looking at the page in Edge they are a truer rendition of what LR has them as than on screen in FF. Appreciate the heads up on that one.
  17. It's been a baaaad few weeks at work so had little time or inclination to get the camera out.. Finally getting time and fun back so here is my humble offering for the last two weeks. One thing I've noted in LR uploading to my Flickr, it darkens my photos. Looking at my cricket shots I've noticed alot of data loss in the background, anyone else have this or a fix? I have not post processing on the upload function in LR. I will revisit this one, potential to be a great shot. 18. wow, you step away for a week or so and you buggers go and paste some awe inspiring photos.. Really great work across the board. So, in the spirit of playing catch up, here are the last three weeks of photos from me. First is London Super Comic Con. I really wanted to get 'un-posed' photos throughout the day, I was happy with what i got armed with my Sigma 105. I did have a run in with one Cos-player, she was VERY upset I took pics of her whilst she was posing for other people then walking away. She demanded that if I wanted to take a photo of her I needed to let her know so that she could pose/pull a face she did for the previous 100 people. Now normally if I took a photo of someone and they objected, and were in a non expo setting, i'd oblige and remove the photo or take one they felt happy with. I was immediately annoyed with her and went on to tell her that in our current setting, with her dressed up and posing for anyone who asked, who was she to tell me how I should be taking my photo. Nothing was taking indecently nor was I trying to paint her in a bad light, I was trying to get a natural feel to the day. Grrr, anyone else have something like that? I have bumped up the colours on these to help push the visual - not sure I am a fan but i have always processed my sunset/sunrise photos and felt they lacked that 'punch'. I might invest in a grad filter and see if that helps me get where I want to go. Sunset Tower of London by David Stewart, on Flickr Sunset Shard by David Stewart, on Flickr Oh, my one a day died - two weeks of 4am starts and 8pm finishes have meant I am really only finding snippets of time to take photos. Perhaps one a month for 2016

  23. Aye, people often forget (not the ones who post here, but photography end users) that the images we show/post/sell/use are never the first one of the bunch. I've found you 'slower water'
  24. cracking droplet shot there Fishy (didn't mean to make that sounds like a Wallace comment ). That is on my 'to master' list, I have yet to take water shots I like.
  25. Cheers PeteJ, love your shot above. Thank you for your comments on the shot above, happy with it. Would like to get a more dramatic sky, hoping this week will be a winner Here are some from the last few days Office Reflection by David Stewart, on Flickr Dirty Glass by David Stewart, on Flickr
