  1. Not sure if this is the right place for this, but me and my flatmates would love to buy a SNES and a bunch of games with it. We have a spare room that is crying out to be used as a games room. Turnpike Lane, London area. Ta!
  2. Oh great, well that has reassured me that I'm getting into £27k of debt for a good reason! Back to that learning stuff, here's a rich (and compelling) cinematography resource. Couple of superb Revenant vids on there. http://www.cinematographydb.com/
  3. EDIT: Actually this is a more academic one – exploring how camera angles are used to highlight the power struggle/relationship dynamic.
  4. This is a bit more DVD extra than analytical, but thought I'd throw it up anyway as the film is exceptional.
  5. Cheers for this, I decided to give it a go and must say it's really quite delightful. The lead actress reminds me so much of Kaya Scodelario (Skins) that it's almost distracting. Oh, knockout soundtrack too.
  6. American Beauty and Kes are the first that came to mind.

  11. Maybe this one? http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1844571939/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=569136327&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=0851707262&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=0NHX5WE9X49YNHV7NKJX It's quite a biggun though; you'll be wanting to put aside a fair bit of time. Couldn't agree more Steve. Arguably the most important game of the season and people leaving at a crucial time. Muppets. Imagine the Man Utd's fans' reactions of 1999, getting home to find out they'd actually won the European Cup. I was there with a mate from LA. His face was a picture when we scored with the last kick of the game, Brilliant day.

  17. Oh that's where I'm at too. That would be bloody brilliant, cheers mate.
  18. Hey all. I wasn't sure if we had a thread on this; apologies if so. Formalities out of the way, as a film student (first year, so still extremely wet behind the ears. Monsoon-like even), I'm becoming increasingly fascinated by cinematography, shot composition, mise en scene, narrative etc. I thought this thread might be a good resource for taking an analytical approach to film. I'll start with this video:

That'd be brilliant fella. Would be great to tell my touting fuck of a so-called mate to take a long walk off a short bridge.

    Arsenal

Hello all. So, I'm an Arsenal fan. A mate told me in November that he is flying in from L.A. and wanted to see the Leicester game (Feb 14). I asked a friend – he and his dad are Arsenal season ticket holders – that I 100% wanted those match day tickets. Didn't agree a price – this may have been my Achilles' heel. More on that later. I spoke to him last week and he said he wants £150 for the pair. I think it's outrageous seeing as this is a Category C game (face value £38). He is saying that is the price his dad has asked for them. I think it's profiteering bullshit and lacks serious class, and stems from Leicester doing well in the league. I could hardly ask him to reduce the price of a Chelsea ticket (Category A) because of how badly they are doing in the Prem this year can I? The categories, I think, are decided at the start of the season. I'm a bit stuck as my mate is due in from America soon, but I really want to tell my so-called pal to go fuck himself. What do you think guys?
