  1. It's... ehh... it's alright. Maybe it gets better later on, but first impressions after an hour or so are a bit "why does this even exist?"
  2. The visuals were wildly inconsistent. Those big branch things at the end moving around at 30fps was just weird, and it definitely felt like something primarily designed for PS4 (I mean, it was basically Revelations 3 before they realised they could polish the fucker up and ship it as a full price game). The ray-traced reflections were utterly hilarious, too. That water. Good god. I didn't hate my time with it, but a faster-paced game with RE7's controls and movement speed was not the way to go at all. The Stronghold area was pure torture simply because it felt shit to fight about ten werewolves. Fuck werewolves.
  3. Bit late to the party (thanks Capcom and your fucking PC port), but if anyone is still struggling with ray-tracing gradually dive-bombing their performance on PC, set a manual page file size. I can finally PLAY THE FUCKING GAME.
  4. This kind of news should make me hyped, not sigh.
  5. Sorted it. Just had to update the GP app.
  6. I can't even see the EA games on the sodding XBox app. What's going on there?
  7. Shame it doesn't run at a bloody smooth framerate on a 144hz monitor.
  8. It was a massive disappointment, for sure. It still had moments of greatness, but most of the levels were just pure shit, and visually it was really dull. As shitty as the old mega-textures thing could look with the version of idtech TNO used, it still managed to be fun to look at.
  9. The Bow's Hera Aspect makes the game hilariously easy, I've found. Get a bit of a speed boost from Hermes, the double-shot upgrade, and the close-quarters damage upgrade, and you're laughing hysterically all the way to the end. Also just the simple Zagreus sword aspect is fierce combined with quicker attacks and the perk that halves your health but gives you +2 for each attack. Literally un-killable.
  10. It's not out on anything but Switch and PC at the moment.
  11. I'd honestly recommend the spear to anyone still struggling. It has a nice range/power trade-off, and it can be absolutely devastating with the correct boons and modifications. Death Defiance is definitely the way to go, by the way. It makes [redacted] so much easier.
  12. Justified is so fucking good that its worst season is still better than most other things.
  13. Yep. That last season did me in, I think. The one before that was shit, but I thought, "eh, it's usually a bit shit, and this was just a bit shitter. Let's see if the next season is less shit." Oh god. You know what I never thought I'd miss? Murray Gold's music. As LOUD and STUPID as it could get, there were some cracking themes in there, and he dialled it down when needed. This new music guy has no soul, I swear to god. Bland as fuck.
  14. Congrats! I'm not a fan of the gun, either. It can be a beast when you get some good boons, but generally I find myself struggling once I hit Elysium.
  15. Doesn't DMC have a hard time keeping 60fps, though? It's also a last-gen game, so it's hardly pushing the consoles. There's the fact that console RT is generally really low-res, too, which isn't exactly ideal.
  16. The isometric view is generally okay, but when enemies are up against walls where you can't see, they really should be made visible by making the wall see-through.
  17. That's honestly one of my main problems with the game. The level design just kind of sucks. Still, I love almost everything else - except that big butterfly ball in Elysium. Cunt.
  18. It's just not going to happen at 60fps, especially since DLSS relies on the tensor cores of Nvidia cards and not purely software. They'll keep pushing the machines harder, too, leaving even less room for ray-tracing goodness at a decent framerate.
  19. I just wish DLSS wasn't shit at lower resolutions. Control, even with DLSS2.0, is an absolute mess at 1080p.
  20. To be fair, the first time I lucked out on a boon that restored my health by 1 each second, so a lot of the fight was me running away while my health came back. In terms of rogue-ish games, I'd put this on top of my previous favourite, Enter the Gungeon, which I'd put an obscene amount of hours into.
  21. Did my first complete run after 24 attempts. Still playing after more than 50 hours. There's some things I find fault with, but in general it's just... FUN.
  22. River City Girls just got added. I was just thinking of buying it, too.
